May 25, 2012When a user copies an image from a browser into PowerPoint 2011 he gets text of a link back to the image, not the image itself. But if he copies from a browser into Word he gets the image, and can then copy the image from Word to PowerPoint. Same results with both Firefox and Safari. Behavior is new so I assume it relates to recent software updates but user does not recall accepting any.

Jun 29, 2010I have just started to notice something really weird. When ever I go onto a page that contains Flash any web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox) crashes on my mac. Do I need to re-install the latest version of Flash? I have the most upto date of everything (OSX, Safari, Flash) etc.
The only way I could get onto Macrumors was to install ClikcToFlash.

Nov 30, 2014I just downloaded and installed the new Canon drivers from their website that are supposed to support Scanner/Printer functions for my MX870 with Yosemite, but when I go to Settings for Printer/Scanner and try to add the printer from the wireless network, the computer does not detect it.

May 8, 2012I am unable to set up our office Canon image Runner 3225 (iR3225) network printer up. I have followed the steps on both the canon, and apple site. I have also tried driver UFR II (2.24), and other drivers as well. I can look at the printer online but it will not locate it in setup no matter what I do.

I found Sequential, which seems to do exactly what I want and it even has a timer but it only goes up to 90 seconds.. I would need to be able to put in the number of minutes/seconds myself instead of being limited to a value the app would give me.

Aug 19, 2010a few days ago i unplugged a USB cable from the back of my MacPro 1,1 and the screen turned all blue (like an overlay) and the machine crashed. Since then the computer has been running extremely slow? it takes 15-20 minutes to start up (if not more) and once booted, every action is delayed as the computer is "thinking". I can type about three letters into a search box per minute as an example.The machine has moments of clarity where I can open a window or start launching a program, then to begins to pause again.The machine as of now is unusable. I have been able to get the process manager open and did not see anything unusual.

(i'm on my laptop now). the g5 however is my work computer and i have to get safari working.

Apr 30, 2012I work in a John Lewis shop in the UK, I've set one of our display imac's up to have all the demo content installed for Mac OS X Lion. But id rather not go around each machine and install everything again manually. What would you advise is the best way to create a system image that i can just install onto each of the other machines to the exact same state I have the one i've already done?
Is is best to clone the drive using carbon copy cloner? then just use system restore option from disk utilities? Will this work with the fact the macs have all different seriel numbers etc?

I have a Canon LiDE 30 which works perfectly well with my Windows box but does nothing at all when I plug it into the iMac. I've not loaded anything like the Canon scanner toolbox, and I can't find anything relevant on a search apart fromn some pre-Lion stuff. I don't know enough yet about my iMac to fiddle

Sep 4, 2009Installed 10.6.5 a few days after it came out. I have an IMAC white version 4 years old. It now crashes several times a day. Symptoms are screen is locked and mouse and keyboard have no effect. Dont have any obscure software. In fact the problem has occurred when all I have open are a couple of Safari windows. It requires a restart which is pretty annoying as it tends to happen in the middle of doing something important like online bookings.
Earlier versions of this OS had many similar USB problems that were fixed in 10.6.4 (tho Apple never
mentioned them). Seems like the same problems have crept back in.

Dec 20, 2010I�m a newbie here but been using Mac os x for about 10 years. My iBook 12" G4 1.33 has been crashing alot with the black screen saying "you need to restart your computer".or, more often "Welcome to Open Firmware, the system time and date is:.... When i type "mac-boot" it flashes once and goes to an all blue screen with a folder in the center with a question mark on it. One more detail: on the very top of the firmware screen it says: Illegal instruction at %SRR0: ff85e778 %SRR1: 0008 1000
This has been happening for over a year now and we usually get it to start by pressing random keys and even shaking the laptop!! We have learnt there is a real issue with the airport card in these ibook g4�s but mine is the type you can�t get to the airport card without taking the whole thing apart. So its still in there but we dont use it because it brings on these kernel panics, But they continue and are getting worse, I have reset the PRam 100�s of times thru the Open Firmware but nothing changes, Don�t know how to boot through the cd drive as there�s no prompts, everything is backed up, so not too scared but just want my lovely Mac back. I have the discs if anyone can tell me how to use them in this situation, or help in anyway I would be soooo grateful. The forums seem to have a fairbit about thi kind of thing but none of the responses work for us
