I just purchased a used mac, and when i am in safari, using facebook; when I click to view an image, then go to unclick it (which would normally take you back to facebook) my browser goes back to my homepage. Please help, I have a warranty throught a private company but really hope this is an easy fix seeing as i JUST got this computer!

I have an iMac (Intel mid 2011) 21.5", Facebook used to work OK. After updating Safari to Ver. 5.1.7. (6534.57.2), Facebook is not displaying correctly, I get a white unformated screen and a partial display of the information shows on the left side of screen (10%). I'm using OSX Ver. 10.6.8.. Facebook works OK on my iPhone and others PCs.

When a user copies an image from a browser into PowerPoint 2011 he gets text of a link back to the image, not the image itself. But if he copies from a browser into Word he gets the image, and can then copy the image from Word to PowerPoint. Same results with both Firefox and Safari. Behavior is new so I assume it relates to recent software updates but user does not recall accepting any.

I am having numerous crashes of the safari browser and tonight it happened 4 times in a row as I was accessing facebook. The trouble shooting said the following and hope you can help...thanks:

I am new! mac os x 10.4.6. Within seconds of logging-in to my new facebook page, the browser crashes. I check the mac report and it says 'Kern Protection failure'. I mailed facebook and they suggested it was a cache/cookie problem. These I cleared but the problem persists. The report continued by mentioning Adobe Flash Player Failure 0. I have upgraded the browsers and the Adobe Flash Player ( I think!)- still no joy. I am at the limit of what I know.

It was flaky after the upgraded to 13.0.0 but resolved that with flushed caches, disk utilities, rebuilding the launch services etc, and I could still access it using Chrome.Having upgraded to 13.0.1 it is not responding to treatment. Have uninstalled Firefox completely - including all leftover files - and reinstalled: still nothing. It's running happily on Chrome under 10.6.8 so I know it's not a connectivity issue through the router.Obviiusly not the app, not the connection, only common areas are the computer itself, which seems to be running happily enough, and maybe something in OSX that has been affected?

A couple of weeks ago facebook stopped loading on my mac. I thought it might be a virus or something, so I restored my mac and now use a different web browser (google chrome instead of safari). Facebook still doesn't load unless I delete my history, and even then it just opens the first page and then stops, and now Yahoo doesn't load either. The other computers & the iPad in my house load everything just fine, and when I took my computer to a friend's house, Facebook and Yahoo worked on their internet. Why is it just my computer that's unable to load these web pages on my specific home internet

I found Sequential, which seems to do exactly what I want and it even has a timer but it only goes up to 90 seconds.. I would need to be able to put in the number of minutes/seconds myself instead of being limited to a value the app would give me.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSuddenly about 5days ago, Safari suddenly stopped loading my homepage, uk.yahoo.com - which has been my Homepage for years. I thought it was perhaps a Yahoo problem, but apparently not, as Safari loads any other page from my favorites etc without any hitch, meaning its clearly not an ISP problem either. I did find a thread that suggested un-ticking the 'Restore Windows' box in the General section in System Preferences, (not Safari Preferences), but I cant see a General tab in System Preferences? Additionally, I have deleted Safari, and reinstalled it, but problem still exists. I'm running OS X 10.5.8 and Safari version 5.0.6.

It changes when I connect external monitors, and it changes when I bring it home from work and boot up.
I just can't wrap my head around it. I have to change it every time I boot up, actually.

I also tried other browsers (chrome and firefox) still no go.I get to the sign in page but then Safari (or other brousers) can't open the page.Now it says I tried to may times and have to verify who I am.
