I am unable to set up our office Canon image Runner 3225 (iR3225) network printer up. I have followed the steps on both the canon, and apple site. I have also tried driver UFR II (2.24), and other drivers as well. I can look at the printer online but it will not locate it in setup no matter what I do.

Canon Pixma MX850 Office All-In-One Printer (2436B002) apparently is listed in Mac World as one of the top products in their most recent issue. I was having problems printing from my Canon LBP6000. Print jobs remained held in the queue. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Mac CAPT Ve r340 driver from Canon's website, no improvement. The printer works fine with my Windows laptop. I found an option to remove all printers from the Print preferences section. I can't remember how I did this, but all printers were removed. I reinstalled the above driver, but now in the 'print & scan' - 'add printer' section, I have no printer options. And no idea how to get printer options.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbook Air running Lion. I have been struggling to set up a network printer that has worked for years on Windows and Linux clients (I think it worked with Snow Leopard as well). The set up is a Silex print server C-6200U+ v 2.3.1 with a Canon ip4300 connected to it's USB port. The driver is version 10.51.2.0 and CUPS is version1.5.1. All the latest revs. Currently other clients on the network print using LPR to queue 'lp' on a TCP/IP port. In Windows 7 this is all configurable though the gui with a mouse so I'm not doing anything clever. I have tried a number of iterations of set up on the Mac using CUPS Admin interface and also the System Preferences route. The closest to success has been to set it up as LPD protocol on a fixed ip address with queue 'lp', from this configuration I can successfully print a test page from CUPS or 'Print and Scan'. However when it comes to a 'real' print job from Preview or Word or Adobe, nothing much happens. The print queue says it is 'copying the Print Data' or similar but it just hangs indefinitely.Â

I am new to Mac. Recently I bought a Macbook Air with OS X v10.7. I have a ADSL router with the Canon printer with fixed IP 192.168.2.100. I have a wireless router connected to the ADSL router. This wirless rouer is in another subnet 192.168.3.0.My Windows 7 notebook I am able to print wirelessly to the Canon using a manual configuration (IP printing). As for the Mac, I have installed the latest Canon CUPS drivers and the Canon IJ Network Tool. I use the Canon IJ Network tool, I am not able to scan for the printer. I configure manually with the IP address such as IPP://192.168.2.100 but it still cannot print. The status of printer goes from idle to busy.

I have 2 new I-Mac computers set up on a home network. I have my new Canon D480 Multifunction printer connected to one of the Macs ("Mac #1) by USB and it prints perfectly with the driver recommended in the printer manual downloaded from the Canon site. I have Printer sharing turned on. The printer's name on Mac #1 is Canon D460-490 (UFRII LT) which is the name that was automatically given to the printer when I downloaded the drivers and installed them.
However I am unable to print to the printer from the second new Mac ("Mac #2") although I have downloaded the same printer driver and have added the printer on Mac #2. The printer's name on Mac #2 is Canon D460-490 (UFRII LT) @ Mac #1.I go through the motions of File, Print, but nothing happens.

I have a networked printer in my home network. I also have a (working) PPTP VPN set up to connect to that home network while on the road. When I open the VPN tunnel, I can adress all devices on the network, including the printer. I can ping it as well as open its Web front end (via Safari). The only thing that doesn't work is: I can't print over the tunnel! I've tried turning on "send all traffic over VPN", but that didn't help. Some research on the web seems to indicate that the solution lies in an option "Exclude Local LAN from Tunnel". This, however, is not an option for the built-in PPTP client in Lion.Â

I am new to Macs. I recently setup a router (D-Link 655) and attached my Lexmark E260dn printer to it using a static IP address 192.168.0.100. I added a printer to my MBP but when I print something it seems to take an unusually long time to find the printer. The printer dialog says "looking for printer" until it actually starts to print. I added the same printere to my aging Windows XP system using the install CD and it works as you would expect. Files begin printing immediately. What might I be doing wrong from the MBP?

'all of a sudden' (so it seems) my 2 printers in my network do not print printjobs from other macs in my network. It dit work. Nothing really changed, exept some system-updates.
print-share is on, awake out of sleep is on (network-tab). Really there is no reason that it would not work. Still, ... it doesn't.Â

The charm of the set-up was that I could have my printers in the office and still print from the livingroom (mac mini)Â Â To try to solve the problem I moved the mac mini temporarily to the office, so I have it next to the imac.
Opening the section 'printers and scanners' and then pressing the '+' does however give me 2 differentviews:
- on the imac I get a sub menu, dropping down from the '+'
- on the mac mini I get a new window named 'add new printer' (this is hopefully the right translation - I am on a Dutch system)
This strikes me as odd. I never noticed this before. Maybe this is where the problem lies?Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a Canon MP620 all in one with my MacPowerbook running Leopard 10.5.8. My Canon software is MP Navigator 1.05. The printer is agonizely slow. Sometimes after I press the print button it can take over a minute to even start. This not only occurs when I first start up but after the printer has been in use. This occurs when printing black and white text or pictures. I have been going through a hub and have not yet tried a direct connect which I will shortly. Anyone got any ideas or is this just a slow printer?

It is recognized, I can print a sample page from the printer utility, but InDesign CS5, Acrobat Pro, Word 2011, text edit, Firefox, etc won't print to it. I'm not sure what caused this to start happening, as I've had this printer for almost a year. It is recognized on both USB and WIFI, yet neither connection works.

After hours on the phone with Canon support, they told me it was a MAC problem. I have a new Canon Pixma MX860 printer..
First , Downloaded drivers from the Canon website with their support phone person helping set it up. Printer worked wirelessly with the MAC for 2 days. Then gone. Printer no longer on printer list and won't print either by USB or wirelessly. Called Canon support.
He guided me thru reinstalling in different ways, repaired permissions, set up additional acct name, but still the printer in not listed on Printer Browser screen when wireless used (it is listed when USB connected, but cannot print)and not listed at all on Print & Fax screen. My MAC doesn't recognize the printer now. What happened?

Did a disk utility 1st aid days before...nothing needed repair...Did the 1st aid, due to slowness starting, downloading from cameras very slow, and message "start up disk is almost full", which it is NOT ...46GB available.
