Based on a recommendation from an AppleCare rep, I downloaded "TNEF's Enough" so I could read winmail.dat attachments from others. It won't work and when I called again, I was told AppleCare doesn't support third party apps. How do I activate it? I tried double clicking on it and nothing happened.

My emails just the name of the sender remains bold even after I read the email, making it look like it's not been read. Is this the way it's suppose to look or should the boldness go away?

I have an icloud account which I use for personal use. We recently bought an ipad for the family and set up an icloud to be used for family viewing. I added to my mac the new account (lets call it it '[url]...') but it seems to be moving all the [url]... mail into my personal one on my mac. Since this is suppose to be family, I was hoping to have the email stay with the [url]... so both my husband I could monitor it. However, since my mac is merging it, it is deleted from ipad we share.
Is there anyone to set the mail preferences on my mac so the email stays with the [url]... account? I have tried all the preferences but not finding a way to keep the mail at [url]....

Due to some restrictions I can't let my users mount external HDD's/USB Flash etc. in RW mode. Onle read is allowed, so how can I do that without OS X Server installed?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using OS 10.4.11. When I email PDFs, they are automatically converted to JPGs unless I create an "archive" of them, in which case lots of people can't open them, including Mac and PC users. As a sometime graphic artist, this is a real concern. On my old iMac using OS 9, I never had this problem.
View 24 Replies View RelatedMy emails, at least as I see them before I send them, have a picture of me in the upper right hand corner. I want to get rid of it. I have looked everywhere in Mail, etc.
Everytime I open something attached to an email or try and downloads something onto my computer, the whole safari shuts down and will not open it. What do I do?
Its only been doing this for about a week, so its not what I am opening as I cant open things I have been able to before.
Its set up as a profile picture. And its not a very professional picture if an employer were to email me?

When I attach a PDF or JPEG file to an email, the resolution of that file is automatically reduced. What do I need to do to keep the resolution?

I have a Mac Mini working as a local serverHTPC and a MBP that I do my daily computing on. I also have a D-Link NAS drive that is plugged into my wireless router. Currently, the Mac Mini has nothing really on it, all the media is stored on the NAS drive. The Mini just mounts the NAS volume and serves up the media that way.
However, I recently followed the steps here [URL] to set up remote access to the Mini. That works fantastically. However, I CANNOT figure out how to access the NAS drive through the Mini. The NAS drive does not have WAN access, so I cant get it directly when I am away from home. Rather, what I expected to do was to mount the Mini (which had the NAS already mounted to it) and then I would be able to access all of the Mini's files as well as the NAS's files through it.
Alas, that does not seem to be the case. Although when I remotely mount the Mini I can access its files, as well as any LOCALLY attached drives (think usb HDDs physically attached to the Mini), but I cannot get to the NAS (even though its already been mounted). Whenever I try to select the NAS drive on the "file sharing" options on the mini, it never lets me select it, its all greyed out.
I received an email attachment with a .pub file extension, but my MAC can't open it. I saw that some users had success with ZamZar or Adobe sites, but I can't access them since the file won't download.

I downloaded a video driver (size 77.6 MB) and I saw it in my iMAC "downloads".
Now that I've downloaded it, and closed the downloads list, I cannot find how to reopen that download list. How do I do it?
Also, I want to transfer (copy and paste?) that video file downloaded executable file to an attached external hard drive connected to my iMAC which I will use to install the video driver on a PC which is in process of a clean install of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.
I am willing to save on my hard disk the content of a SD card that contains mts files that I can access via AVCHD, BDMV, STREAM.
When I copy the whole SD card to save on my hard disk, I get an error message saying that the copy cannot proceed because one of the file contains information that cannot be read.
I was told on this group, that changing the structure of the AVCHD folder should not be changed. Can I delete the file that contains a bug ? or will I screw up the AVCHD folder ?Â

How can I tell if an email I sent was read?
Info:
MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
This didn't happen in the past and now if I send any type of attachment from work (png or zip for instance), the attachment only appears as a winmail.dat file on both my MacBook Pro running 10.7.3 and my iPhone running iOS5.1
The important thing here is the attachment is actually being set out correctly. I know this because if I pick it up using the web interface of my mail provider, the attachments are all present and correct.
Therefore the problem lies somewhere in iOS5.1 or OS10.7.3Â
I have a 2TB Hitachi Backup drive, and a 1TB Verbatim Portable drive, both are USB 3, and when they are connected and the iMac is switched off, it will not boot until I remove the drive.Â
How can I leave the 2TB drive connected and power up the iMac ?Â
The 2TB drive was purchased to be a Time Machine backup drive.Â

The first batch of videos was copied to an external drive from a Windows PC with MacDrive installed. When I came back to my Mac, I plugged the external drive into my Mac and moved those files to my hard drive. The second batch was copied using Connect to Server command right from my Mac.The funny thing is Final Cut Pro cannot recognize the first batch of videos. So I took a look at the file permissions using Terminal. All of the videos in the first batch have a file permission of -rwxr-xr-x@ but the others have -rwxr-xr-x. I tried to do a chmod 755 on every video file, but the @ sign still wouldn't go away.
