Everytime I open something attached to an email or try and downloads something onto my computer, the whole safari shuts down and will not open it. What do I do?
Its only been doing this for about a week, so its not what I am opening as I cant open things I have been able to before.
Its set up as a profile picture. And its not a very professional picture if an employer were to email me?

I scanned a document and emailed to my self. I then forwarded that email to another person but the scanned attachment did not forward.

When I email PDFs, they are automatically converted to JPGs unless I create an "archive" of them, in which case lots of people can't open them, including Mac and PC users. As a sometime graphic artist, this is a real concern. On my old iMac using OS 9, I never had this problem.

Ever since I installed the latest Office 2008 update (moving Entourage up to v12.2.7), Entourage has crashed at least once a day when I open an unread e-mail. Seems like it happens more often when there are images embedded in the e-mail, like when someone has one in their signature, but I honestly can't tell what the rhyme or reason is for it.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently got a new iMac and find to my chagrin that I cannot open any of the music I bought under two older emails whose passwords for my apple id at that time I cannot remember. This seems completely unfair. I have spoken to apple and they have given up. The files are still in my music library, but the new iMac is not "authorized" to open them. Only files I have bought in the last few years will open.

I am running SL and the Gmail Notifier for Mac, and Firefox. Every time I click an email link in Firefox, instead of opening up a "compose mail" page in Gmail like it used to, recently I just get sent to an old-style HTML only Gmail page, as pictured below.
Anyone else experiencing this? it's getting pretty annoying that any time I click an email, I get sent to a useless Gmail page. I've tried googling the problem, but it never turns up results that are relevant.
My wife and I both use Yahoo! Mail. Neither of us uses the Mail app to manage our email. How do I prevent Mail from opening when we click an email address in Safari? Is it possible to direct Safari to open a separate web browser prompting us to log in to our Yahoo! Mail?

I have been having problems with my Safari and firefox. They both say they are up to date. When I use fire fox to look at Hotmail.com, it takes a while to load and when I try to open mail in new tabs, it opens a tab saying "javascript;;".
When I use safari to look at hotmail, it does an infinite loop and stays blank..the URL thingy just goes in loops. I mostly use fire fox, and some times when I go to type, I will get a 10 second delay before my text appears..
How do I make sure my attachments to emails appear as icons and not as open files? Once they appear as open files I can double click and select 'view as icon' but they don't stay that way. When I send or file the email the attachment is usually open again.

Hey, when i turn my laptop on, i get to the password bit and try to type in my password. the keyboard doesnt work and the mouse pad wont work. then a screen comes up after about 30seconds and says that no keyboard is attached, and to attach my wireless keyboard??Â
it did this once before, but then worked again after a day. now it wont work at all.

The MBP won't detect any external displays.
When running through a projector to give a presentation the color red has disappeared. The first time it happened I calibrated with the Color Munki and all was well, for a while. Now the Color Munki can't calibrate it anymore. I've tried two different projectors (both work with another laptop)tried two different cables and two different connectors.Also tried different calibrations.Today we ran disk utilities and that worked great, for an hour or two.Â

I have macbook air 13inch 2011 model. 2 days back It wasn't charging and dim green light was showing. I visited service center which is far from where i live.They said battery was short, they removed battery and placed it back and my mac started working. I came back home, next day again same issue. Do you think its charger fault now i don't have correct screw driver to open my mac and unplug and plug battery again. And i cant visit service centre again. Should I get new charger ? Why i faced same problem after visiting service centre they said it wont happen again.

I typed Mac Help about "to operate the portable computer with an external monitor attached and the display closed. When I close the display of my Mac Book or MacBookPro, the external monitor such as my 50" Plasma monitor or video projector would go black. I read the Help and it said and required the USB Mouse and Keyboard to close the Macbook display and put computer sleep. My question is will the Apple blue tooth or wireless keyboard and mice will work with out using the USB? Has any one try that? I am not sure if I should buy wired or wireless to operate this.
View 10 Replies View RelatedThis started recently and is quite annoying. Like the title says, if I put my computer to sleep via apple menu/sleep while it is attached to my external monitor the computer will not "wake up". When I try to wake up the computer the sleep indicator stops pulsing and I can hear the hard drive start spinning. As a result I must force shut down the computer by holding the power button. The computer is fully charged so it is not a low battery issue. The external monitor is an 20" Apple Cinema Display, it is attached via Apple's DVI connector. Â
Unplugging the monitor dongle and replugging it in do not work. Pressing any assortment of keys does not bring the display back up. Â
I've tried resetting PRAM, disk permissions, and verifying the disk.Â

There is a loud and really annoying humming & static noise when I connect my charger to my MBP. The humming only comes out of the headphones jack, and not the MBP speakers. This really cripples me in my work as I am a music producer.

I am new here. I am a linux guy (pour me the hate mails), I don't use a mac. But so it happens, I am now needed to backup files automatically from a Macbook Pro notebook to a NAS device that is attached to the wireless router.The Macbook has some files in it, and a lot of them are constantly updated. The user of the Macbook roams around the building. There is only one NAS device.Can somebody please suggest/recommend a good backup software for this kind of use here?I tried Bonkey. For the life of me, I cannot configure it. It doesn't help.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI clicked the battery icon at the top of the screen and what I seen is below. I'm extremely impressed with this new machine. Sold my old 15" Late 2008 Unibody few weeks ago on eBay as I wanted to downsize for portability.
Update: Obviously this was an estimated time and it was given when I used the computer on the battery for the first time upon receiving it. I assumed people wouldn't actually think I was getting 10 hours whilst using applications on it. You would probably get that amount of time by doing nothing on it. I just thought I would share it as it's the first time I've had it on any MacBook Pro and I've owned every generation of them.
