I recently tried to use the CD drive on my MacBook Pro, and it has been a while since I last remember using it, but when I tried to put a cd in, it wasnt automatically drawn in as I pushed it in most of the way. At first I didn't notice the cd drive was not drawing the disk in, and I shoved it all the way in, and it wouldn't eject either, so I had to pull it out. I restarted my computer and the drive still doesnt work. My battery says service battery, but I don't really think that has anything to do with the cd drive.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a mid 2009 2.6 Ghz 15" macbook pro, and recently purchased two samsund ddr3 4gb 1600hz 204 pin RAM. I removed my two 2gb standard Ram from my macbook pro, and inserted the two 4gb Ram. When I turned the computer one it began using its 3 beep sequence as if the Ram fail, so I removed one 4gb Ram and reinserted a 2gb Ram and the computer started. It said I had total 6 gb ram. I am wonderind why It won't accept both of the 4gb Ram.

The last time I used my cd drive was a couple months ago to burn a cd.
The cd didn't come out so I followed the steps to eject it and it came out properly. Since then I haven't used the drive until recently. When I went to enter a cd to burn some songs onto it, the drive wouldn't accept any discs. As if there was something in there but there is nothing.
some steps to get my cd/dvd drive to accept discs again please?

I just tried to play a legit DVD and it won't play. It accepts the DVD, spins for a bit then spits it back out. I've tried several ones. All legitimate dvd's (not burnt ones) and none of them work. I've played DVD's on here before.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Macbook Pro is approaching its second birthday and now refuses to accept any DVDs, it takes them, swirls them around making a funny noise for a few seconds and then spits the disc back out. I want update to Snow Leopard, but can't, I want to install Windows 7, but can't and more importantly can't even run FM2010! I can't see how Apple can justify charging so much and have the nerve to call the drive 'super', when it is clearly not. Reading across the net on forums this seems to be a common problem and one that Apple don't want to know. Can anyone recommend an external DVD drive to buy?

Brand new macbook air. Got a coffee spill on it.
Immediately shut it off and cleaned what I could up, but some coffee got in the keys on the right hand side.
So now, when booting, there is no 'BONG' start up. It asks for a password to login, but it won't accept the right password (like the keys are pressing the wrong buttons) - pressing the 'enter' key during this process puts a character up in the password screen like a different key is being pressed.
Can't log into it. Haven't disassembled it yet to see what I can see, but looking for advice. My wife just bought this for her business (first nice thing she's ever bought herself) and is mortified to have spilled coffee in it after only 4 days.
My macbook ran out of battery two days ago. When I restarted it had all my data and files, but the settings had been reset (i.e. my screen saver, dock, expose, etc had all been reset to the original settings). A day later, the macbook froze and I tried to restart it. It now goes to the login page with my user ID but does not accept my correct password. Instead, the rainbow pinwheel spins for a few minutes before the login window shakes and then clears my entered password, as if it does not accept the password. After a few repeated tries, it offered me my password hint. I know my password is the same one I've always used.
