OS X :: Won't Accept Mac Os Passwords
Dec 23, 2007I recently got a new macbook pro and with it came my .Mac account. It seems it continuously wont accept my password or my birthdate to retrieve my information since I first got my computer started. It has the option to send it to my .mac e-mail but I can't check it without the password. None of my mac os programs will start without it, and leapard wont install fully without it. I've e-mailed the help desk and they never got back to me. Has anyone else ever had this happen? I've ran out of options, would uninstalling mac os and reinstalling help at all? Or am I just screwed?

Apr 29, 2009I recently changed the password on my AOL account ( for security ). But now everytime I launch mail, I get a dialogue box asking me to input my new password. Once do this it works fine. But doing this every time is annoying. I have entered the new pw in Mails preferences in 'Accounts' but it doesn't seem to work.

I did google it but found mixed responses.1) Safari sometimes doesn't save passwords, even does't ask me if I'd like to.It shows every time I launch Safari. I'm deleted Saft (used AppTrap) but looks like there are sill some files left.

Jun 5, 2014I recently tried to use the CD drive on my MacBook Pro, and it has been a while since I last remember using it, but when I tried to put a cd in, it wasnt automatically drawn in as I pushed it in most of the way. At first I didn't notice the cd drive was not drawing the disk in, and I shoved it all the way in, and it wouldn't eject either, so I had to pull it out. I restarted my computer and the drive still doesnt work. My battery says service battery, but I don't really think that has anything to do with the cd drive.

OS X :: Few Files In ITunes Won't Accept Metadata Changes?
Sep 9, 2010So, I ripped my DVD's of Battlestar Galactica to iTunes. I select them all and get info and change metadata. All of them change except for one file, that refuses to change. in this case, the album artwork won't change from the first frame of the video to the DVD case picture from Amazon.
I did them all at the same time and all in handbrake, but this one file just won't accept the change. I've checked the file permissions and it seems to be set correctly.
I have another ripped CD that no matter what I do, none of the songs will accept changes to their metadata.
Anyone seen this? Solutions? I tried deleting it from itunes and re-adding it but still no joy. At a loss?!

Jan 28, 2009I installed iPhoto 09 today and I'm having a hard time figuring out why does this new version does not read keywords from my image files (IPTC Metadata) All my photos are tagged with keywords "inside" the files (IPTC Metadata) and with iPhoto 08 all I had to do was to import the files to iPhoto and it would recognise those keywords! Now, in iPhoto 09, those "inner" keywords (IPTC Metadata) aren't recognised! Did Apple remove the IPTC Metadata support in iPhoto 09? From what I have read at Apple Discussions, there is a bug on iPhoto 09 that stops the support of IPTC Metadata ONLY when the option "Copy items to the iPhoto library" isn't ticked! If the photos are imported and copied to the iPhoto Library then there is no problem and the keywords are recognised.

Sep 26, 2009I find 1Password to be amazing, but my one complaint is that it doesn't seem easy to make logins for anything other than a web password. What about for my wireless password? To my school education account? My OS X password? Skype? AIM? MSN? Can anyone explain how to do this? I know I could just leave the website field blank, but that seems like a pitiful work around.

Jun 10, 2010upgraded to Safari 5 and auto fill no longer works, passwords are mostly forgotten. Used Help and there was nothing to help this issue. To go back and try to remember passwords, account numbers etc is horrible and so far I see no advantages to this new version. This is the unintended consequence of a new version of software even with Apple!

Jan 25, 2008I'm on a new MacBook Pro at work - came with OS X.4 and an upgrade install disc to Leopard... Safari 3 will NOT save any of my passwords. I continually choose "yes" every time I visit the sites that I want to use this feature for (i.e. project management panel at work), but no luck. Well, not EXACTLY true, on a (very) RARE occasion - Safari will save a username, but still NOT the accompanying password. I've found 2 threads on this same issue on Apple's Support Knowledgebase, there's still no solution from them on this: [URL]
Is anyone else out there having this issue? If so, I'm urging you to post on the thread so Apple will resolve this. I'm in the web design biz, so I am frequenty visiting sites that require login credentials. I'd switch to another browser, but, well - no I won't. I love Safari too much. Mar 19, 2010I ripped a DVD I have in my collection into my Mac using hardbrake 32 bit. I have 64 bit but supposedly for some reason it needed VLC 64 bit which apparently doesnt exist or something so I downloaded the 32 bit version. when ripping i had 2 choices mpeg4 and encoding .264 or ffemp or whatever it is.. and .mkv and the same choice of encoding. When I try ripping with the mkv the quality comes out rubbish like pixelated boxes and what not totally not watchable. 2 DVDs same thing. so I deleted those and I used the mv4. I dont rem now what option that was but there were only 2 so anyways then it comes out ok. but then when i try to play it. like i do with my downloaded stuff (which i use movist- no problems) i get hiccups stops whatever u call those. i have to close everything i am running i.e transmission etc before it would play smoothly this is kind of weird i even switched it to high performance. also some websites i save the user name password saved but i must have did something and for that particular site it does nott have nor does it ask me to save anymore so how do i get it to prompt me again?

I set up another account and it's the same thing with the password not being accepted. What's the deal? "The .Mac password you entered is not correct. If you forgot your password, you can reset at the .Mac website."
