Sep 2, 2014I have mails with an invitation for a meeting, coming from ms outlook, in format .ics.
When I double click on it, i do not see it in my calendar - neither to accept or refuse.
(I once answered a question, sth like - isdbox need access to .. - not 100%sure about the correct question, i answered "no", but i think it should have been "yes")
Since then i can not see invitations anymore coming from an .ics file.

Jun 27, 2014I have the same question about printing error - remote host did not accept file data (32), is the answer the same as I saw among answers about the notification regarding printers? I have Copy Machine: Kyosera KM-2560. I print, let's say about 120 sheets on Friday. After about 50% into the spooling I get this message of the error. Would it be the printer using IP?

Aug 13, 2009I've got to transfer 250GB ish of files from an OSX machine (HFS+) onto a Linux EXT3 machine and a Windows NTFS machine.
The problem is that I've got lots of odd named folders/files on the OSX machine that are not compatible on the linux/windows machines.
For example :
"OLDER THAN 12/08/09" becomes "ONM6U4~U"
How am I going to get these files over properly keeping the file/foldernames as intact as possible?
MacBook Air :: Wifi File Transfers Very Slow?
Mar 18, 2008I've just set up my MBA, right out of the box - everything is going well apart from it take ages to copy files from my G5 to the MBA, over my WiFi connection.
A 33.6MB file has just taken 45 mins!
I'm doing nothing differently from when I used my very old (5 years) G4 PowerBook to transfer content. As a quick test, I've just transferred the same file to that lap top in about 15 seconds.
Software :: Bluetooth File Transfers Between Two Mac Laptops?
Aug 7, 2008I have a macbookpro but my friend has recent the black macbook. I tried to startup bluetooth and do a file transfer but it doesn't work. It just scans and scans, loads and loads, but nothing ever happens.
I successfully paired the computers, but they are not "connected". I tried to right click on connect or click on it somehow inside the bluetooth pane in system settings but does not work. There is no actual 'connect' button. It shows a list of computers that are "paired" or "recognized". States if its paired or not and right below has the connected icon.
Does bluetooth have a file limit size or something?

Feb 13, 2009Are there apps available that allow you to move/transfer files between the Mac and Bluetooth devices (i.e Palm handhelds/cell phones) using a GUI that's like the Finder? Sorry, but Bluetooth File Exchange is good but is lacking in functionality (i.e. the ability to transfer folders or multiple folders) and has quite a cumbersome user interface.

Intel Mac :: External USB Hard Drive Disconnects During Large File Transfers
May 9, 2012I have a Western Digital 2TB USB Hard Drive that Ive been using perfectly for a couple of years on my MacBook Pro. A couple of months ago I bought a 27inch iMac and started using it as my main computer. So I had that hard drive connected to my iMac. Â
I started to notice that during large transfers (be it many files or 1 big one), usually into the Gigs, I suddenly got a warning message saying that the Hard Drive was inappropriately disconnected. It doesnt appear in Disk Utility so I have to manually connect and disconnect the drive in order for it to show up again on the iMac. I tested it again on my MacBook and the same thing happened. Â
Another problem:
Sometimes it will dissappear from the iMac without a warning message, it just doesnt show up. (Usually after long periods of inactivity). I then have to manually disconnect and connect for it to show up. Â

OS X Mavericks :: How To Restore Deleted (Previous Recipient List)
Aug 29, 2014I have my own, private, Macbook Air which is not used by my spouse. As a result, I have only configured my own e-mail accounts on this machine. It runs OSX 10.9.4.Â
We also have a family-used iPad, which is shared between multiple family members, including my spouse. It has multiple e-mail accounts configured, including mine and hers. None of us uses iCloud mail, just mail from external providers.Â
My wife is used to the auto-fill in Mail on the iPad : Any recipient from the past is used to autocomplete. As a result, she never built an address book since typing most of the names or first characters of her contacts resulted in completing the full e-mail address. The iPad does have an iCloud-based address book configured, which only contains my personal contacts. This iCloud account is also configured on my MBA.Â
During the past weeks I've put a lot of effort in cleaning up my Contacts, since they were swamped with outdated e-mail addresses. I also deleted the complete Previous Recipient list via Window/Previous Recipients, since outdated e-mail addresses were being suggested while they were removed out of my Contacts during clean up. I cleaned up the previous recipients list, assuming that applies only to the local Mail installation. But it does not.
Since the iCloud based contacts are shared between mail clients, the Previous Recipients list is as well, which was a nasty surprise. Apparently my wife can no longer experience any of her contacts being auto-completed on the iPad or other Macs in our house. This is a big issue (marital crisis) and I want to restore the previous recipients list. In the pre-iCloud days this was possible by restoring the correct file via Time Machine (which I use). But in the current iCloud days, the previous recipients list is, as far as I know, completely in the cloud. There is no (known) way for me to revert to a previous version.Â
How to restore the iCloud-based previous recipient list? can I restore a local copy that overwrites/syncs correctly with the cloud-based copy?Â

Jun 5, 2014I''m using Mac Mail for all my mail account (4 of them) and they all work perfectly except for one of my account that is connected through Exchange. The problem is that all the mails are showing my name instead of the sender's name. Every time is switch to another mailbox and comeback to this one (which is my professional mailbox), inbox shows sender's name for 2 minutes, until it refreshes itself. Dec 9, 2014When I search for a file in my computer (command + f) the results appear in a window. If I click on a FILE among the results, the detailed location of that file is shown at the bottom of the window. If I click on a FOLDER, however, no such location information appears. Before Mavericks, locations of folders was also given. Is this a Mavericks bug? Can it be fixed?

Jun 5, 2014I recently tried to use the CD drive on my MacBook Pro, and it has been a while since I last remember using it, but when I tried to put a cd in, it wasnt automatically drawn in as I pushed it in most of the way. At first I didn't notice the cd drive was not drawing the disk in, and I shoved it all the way in, and it wouldn't eject either, so I had to pull it out. I restarted my computer and the drive still doesnt work. My battery says service battery, but I don't really think that has anything to do with the cd drive.

I cannot figure out what to do to make it STAY unchecked -- I absolutely LOATHE "organize by conversation" and just want to use classic view without this and stay sorted by date received.Â

May 24, 2010I have the aluminum unibody macbook from I think 2008 with the 2.0 ghz and 2 gigs of ram. I was on iChat with a friend the other day and wanted to record our conversation. So I fired up QuickTime X and started the screen recording function. When we were finished (a good 15 mins later) I pressed stop on the screen recording and everything seemed fine. I went back today to make notes and it only recorded 6 minutes of our conversation!! My computer was really working hard on the fan keeping it cool from all the cpu usage but I thought everything was fine. Could it have overheated and caused QuickTime to stop recording? Or another explanation?

What I want is to go from an email that is opened in its own window to the email's conversation in the inbox.Â
Side note: I'm trying to do this as the CulturedCode Things' autofill puts a link to the individual email (or many links to individual emails in the conversation). When I click on it, it opens the email in its own window but I also want the context of the discussion. (And all this because gmail forced the ugly new look upon me - gmail+Mailplane was working just fine... )

Jun 3, 2014When I view a received e-mail in Mail, it appears as part of a conversation. I want to be able to print single e-mails. In the View menu, 'Organize by Conversation' is checked by default. If I select an e-mail in my inbox, it appears on screen as part of the conversation, but with a gap between individual e-mails*. if I select the particular e-mail in the conversation that I want and go to Print, it prints the whole conversation. If I uncheck 'Organize by Conversation' and select an e-mail in the inbox, it again appears on screen as a part of the conversation, but without a gap between individual e-mails* and if I print, it still prints the whole conversation. * This, too, seems perverse. I would have thought that with 'Organize by Conversation' checked, the conversation should appear onscreen as continuous, whereas it appears with gaps, and, conversely, with 'Organize by Conversation' unchecked it should appear with gaps, whereas in fact it appears without gaps. I then found this:[URL] But nothing seems to work. I tried changing the 'View' setting in Preferences, I tried all the Expand and Collapse options in the View menu and all other options in the View menu, but the printing behaviour remains the same. The only method I have found for printing just part of a conversation is by selecting its text, pasting it into a text document and printing that.
