View 4 Replies View RelatedI usually read and delete the articles in Apple Hot News RSS feed in Mail on a regular basis. However, over the last few weeks every time a new article arrives, at least one month of deleted articles also appear. For example, I opened Mail tonight and the RSS feed had one new article, plus a load of old deleted articles dating back to September. In RSS Preferences I have "Remove articles after one day" selected.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to get the "mail" icon above the dotted line in the dock so it is available every time I start up ala iTunes/Finder/Safari/Preview?. As it is I have to launch it from the applications folder every time I restart the computer. This would be on my new MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard.

I have mail shifted to iCloud. Still receive/send for convenience primarily via the postage stamp icon in the dock. Will this disappear with Mobile Me - after June 30? How about RSS feeds going direct to mail program? They appear in "mail" via the dock but not on iCloud side.?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy mail icon seems to have a mind of its own. I have my dock hidden and when I get new mail sometimes the mail icon will bounce nice and high onto the screen to alert me. Other times the mail icon just sits there hidden until I'm at the edge of the screen and the dock is shown, then it bounces.
I already made the rule for the icon to bounce when I get new mail, which it does sporadically. I just want to make it bounce into view EVERY time I get a new mail.
I have 2 questions here:
1st:
I am using for work a iMac and i am planning to use for my business trips a mac book air.
I am using the mail and its rss feeeds, i would like to be able to read my mails and rss on both computers and above all that when i have read an email on one computer or one rss feed, it appears as "read" in the other computer
2nd:
I have about 20 different rss feeds folders on mail, for reading them i have to go from one rss feed folder to the other, how is it possible to view all rss feeds mixed up together in one only feed?
I am trying to figure a way to notify me when I forget to enter data in specific cells, that need to be filled in. I included a screen shot. What I want it to show is basically fill in the whole row in red or another color. When I forgot to input data. Is there a formula?

Is it possible to get Firefox's icon in the dock to display an "open new window" option when clicked? This is an option for Finder's and Safari's icons.

I am trying to change my applications icon on my dock. I'm using candybar and cant find applications in candybar to drag an icon to.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince a few days something randomly appears in the dock for a split second. It doesn't stay on for enough time to really see what it is. I've tried to narrow it down but I couldn't find anything in the logs. All I know is that perceived by peripheral vision, it looks similar to the Console icon. I'd really like to know, since this behavior is quite suspicious. Is there an app recording the start of a new process? Alternatively I could make a screenshot every 125ms, but that's not really an elegant solution (plus an image of this icon). I haven't installed anything except Lyx and ProVoc recently.

Is it just me or are the icons slightly off centre?
Is there a way to remove adium's dock icon? It seems rather repetitive to have it both in the status bar and dock. I know I can remove the status bar icon, but I'm pressed for space on the dock. Any ideas? Thanks!
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen iCal is closed (meaning I've quit the app), the date on the iCal dock icon is "Feb 21". When I open iCal, it changes to Feb 23. When I quit again, it goes back to Feb 21. I'm pretty sure that iCal is supposed to show the correct date regardless of whether it's opened or not. Can anyone confirm this for me? Isn't the stock icon date for iCal 'July 17'?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat is that white icon behind my application folder? I have tried removing it and I cant get rid of it.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.3)
I'm referring to the actual icon to access all applications - not a particular app.
This is the second time this has happened. Last time it randomly reappeared.
I've tried dragging it back from both the Finder and the Hard Drive icons, but although it looks like it's adding it, it doesn't.

How can I make my Dock multi-line? Or does anybody know the software that supports this feature?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just noticed that my iCal doesn't anymore update it's Dock-Icon with the correct date? I remember that this has worked flawless before, so I must have changed something (maybe the 10.6.3 update)? When I start the iCal Application, the number (e.g. 9 for 9.4.2010) gets updated, but as soon I close it, it'll go back to 6 (for 6.4.2010).

I am new to the Mac OS world as i only got a mac one week ago. I'm learning lots of new stuff everyday but can't seem to figure out how to make my applications show up at the Guest Account Dock or even at the Applications folder for that matter.
I got Microsoft Office for Mac and it works fine and all on my User account (admin) but i cant make it show up at the applications folder or at the dock so when someone borrows my laptop for some office editing they have to be logged on my account.
Is there a way to customize the applications that show up on Guest Accounts? Ps: Love my macbook air. It makes me never want to touch another PC laptop again.
Safari suddenly won't launch on my 10.5.8 system on my Powermac G5. The dock icon bounces for a few seconds then gives up. I haven't installed any new software recently.I've tried deleting all caches, preferences and plugins, repaired permissions, etc. It doesn't work when logged in on my spare account either.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis does a Google search with the text you drop onto the icon.
Not sure if this is new with Safari 5 or has always been there.
I recently tried to download a free trial of World of Warcraft for Macs but instead screwed up the display settings on my Macbook (version 10.6.4 OS X). I removed it from the computer when the game didn't play, it just gave a black screen, at which point I had restarted the computer to find text sizes magnified, the display setting changed so the whole screen wasn't being used, etc. I was able to change the screen display size no problem but cannot figure out how to make the icons and text in boxes such as applications in the dock, or system preferences folder smaller. Is there a way, without reinstalling the operating system, to reset these minor settings? I could live with the changes but would rather not.
