[The individual frames of the substantial animations I am creating are being produced in Matlab using the "print -dpng" command with white backgrounds, which I then want to make transparent.] I seem to be able to download silly animated gifs with transparent backgrounds from the web that display correctly in Keynote. But when I produce such animations myself using convert [from the imagemagick suite, both the version distributed with fink and the more recent version available at [URL] all frames after the first display with white backgrounds in Keynote (but look ok elsewhere). Optimizing the animated transparent gifs in adobe ImageReady CS (v. 1) Does anyone know a good mac program to make animated gifs (with transparent backgrounds) that display correctly in the latest version of Keynote?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was trying to replace an icon on a classic app, so that it wouldn't look so ugly in the dock. I made a picture that had some transparency in it. I tried copy and pasting from both a .psd and a TIFF into the info window. It almost worked. The app now has a 128x128 icon, but the trasparency was replaced by white. Is there any way to get the icon to retain the transparency? Alternately, does anyone have an OSX icon for Dreamweaver and/or Flash?

I am the first person to think of this idea and publish it on the Internet time-stamped. Please use freely. I have an idea for the Macbook Pro keyboard. Make the sides of the macbook pro keys transparent acrylic black so that no hairs or dust can fall under there and let the light shine through the black transparent acrylic to create the same backlit keyboard effect.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new to the Mac OS world as i only got a mac one week ago. I'm learning lots of new stuff everyday but can't seem to figure out how to make my applications show up at the Guest Account Dock or even at the Applications folder for that matter.
I got Microsoft Office for Mac and it works fine and all on my User account (admin) but i cant make it show up at the applications folder or at the dock so when someone borrows my laptop for some office editing they have to be logged on my account.
Is there a way to customize the applications that show up on Guest Accounts? Ps: Love my macbook air. It makes me never want to touch another PC laptop again.
I recently tried to download a free trial of World of Warcraft for Macs but instead screwed up the display settings on my Macbook (version 10.6.4 OS X). I removed it from the computer when the game didn't play, it just gave a black screen, at which point I had restarted the computer to find text sizes magnified, the display setting changed so the whole screen wasn't being used, etc. I was able to change the screen display size no problem but cannot figure out how to make the icons and text in boxes such as applications in the dock, or system preferences folder smaller. Is there a way, without reinstalling the operating system, to reset these minor settings? I could live with the changes but would rather not.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an iBook G4 with 768mb RAM (a 1 GB chip is in the mail ) it's the 12" 1.2ghz model. I've been having great fun with iMovie for years now, but not with this machine because I just got it. Anyways, when trying to make a project of 243 pictures from a vacation, it took about 2 1/2 hours to export directly to iDVD and then took 5+ hours to burn it! Is this normal?
I do realize I'm running low on RAM (especially being I'm running Leopard, which I forgot to mention above). What are the best ways to increase the speed without losing the quality. I don't need a whole lot more speed because I usually just let it run overnight. I am also running these projects from an external FW 120gb HD.
this is probebly me being really stupid but im still getting used to my mac. I'm using Dragthing and i want to make a new dock but for some reason Dragthing is not coming up in the bar at the top and is still showing Safari even though i am 100% using Dragthing and it is click onto it. It's just the only way to add a new Dock is to go on file and new dock but i cant do that This is a screenshot i just took, I dont understand why it wont show it at the top.

View 3 Replies View Related so just the other day, I noticed that my safari window was fading transparent any time I would make it an inactive window, for example by clicking onto the desktop. I don't know why or how this could have happened, although the only thing I remember installing recently enough was "Inquisiter" for Safari, but I've uninstalled that and it still seems to be happening.
I'm using the most recent version of the Safari 4 beta in case you needed to know.
I guess it's not really a BIG deal since it doesn't really harm my ability to do anything in OS X, but I'm just a little confused as to how this happened in the first place. Does anybody know why or how this happened and how I could disable this?
Here's a video of it happening just to help you understand what's happening:[URL}
I'm looking for a Geektool script that will just display the battery percentage. Its mostly just for show and to slightly clean up my menubar, so its not that big of a deal.
I'm also looking for a way to make the menubar completely transparent, not translucent, so the menus and menubar items are just there sitting on the desktop.
This is for Snow Leopard.
I need a transparent hand print (different colors also) for a project. I've gotten a hand print and used a guide to try and make it transparent using Gimp but I can never export it.
I just need a simple program (I have Paintbrush, Gimp, etc) in order to make things transparent!
I like to keep my dock automatically hidden, but I want it to appear instantly when I hover the mouse over the bottom of the screen.

View 2 Replies View Related10.6.3. When I make an alias on my desktop of a folder and then drag it to my dock it'll stick there but it will open like a folder. When I click it it will open Finder and then that alias. I want it to open like Stacks do, preferably in list mode with the flyout menus. Why can't I do this? I had it in Leopard but can't get it to work in SL. I checked all my settings and can't find anywhere to create a stack from an alias. Or from anything for that matter.

I am trying to create a custom ISO for installing linux on dedicated servers, based on a standard ISO. For this, I need to edit a file which contains parameters for partitioning the HD, as I have replaced the supplied HD with a larger one on many machines, and want to modify partition creation, so I do not have to install fdisk and modify the /home partition later.
I have the ISO and can mount it, and edit the necessary file, but I cannot save it back into the ISO.
How should I do this? I've googled widely and found nothing.
