OS X V10.4 :: Using Mail And Its Rss Feed On 2 Mac Computers

Mar 28, 2012

I have 2 questions here:

1st:

I am using for work a iMac and i am planning to use for my business trips a mac book air.

I am using the mail and its rss feeeds, i would like to be able to read my mails and rss on both computers and above all that when i have read an email on one computer or one rss feed, it appears as "read" in the other computer

2nd:

I have about 20 different rss feeds folders on mail, for reading them i have to go from one rss feed folder to the other, how is it possible to view all rss feeds mixed up together in one only feed?

Applications :: Apple Hot News RSS Feed In Mail

Nov 6, 2009

I usually read and delete the articles in Apple Hot News RSS feed in Mail on a regular basis. However, over the last few weeks every time a new article arrives, at least one month of deleted articles also appear. For example, I opened Mail tonight and the RSS feed had one new article, plus a load of old deleted articles dating back to September. In RSS Preferences I have "Remove articles after one day" selected.

OS X Mavericks :: Mail Rules Don't Sync Across Computers

Aug 27, 2014

I'm running Mavericks 10.9.4  on both my Late 2014 MBP and my Late 2012 iMac. I have iCloud set up on both computers and logged in to the same account. I added a ton of new Mail rules to sort my incoming mail on the MBP. Rules were created within the Mail program, not on iCloud. I have both Mail and documents & Data set up to sync on iCloud. However, I'm not seeing any of my new mail rules showing up on the iMac. I have removed and re-enabled Mail and Documents & Data from each computer with no change.

How do I get them to sync across to the other computer?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), Late 2012

OS X Mavericks :: Sync Mail Database Between MAC Computers Without Using IMAP?

Jun 30, 2014

The normal question is can I sync  Apple mail database (folders) between two MAC computers. The answer is always use IMAP, but unfortunately IMAP is limited on space to store historical emails. I keep mailboxes (on_my_mac) with thousands of emails and attachments that take up a massive amount of space, well beyond any IMAP server allowances. I keep these in order to search conversations that span over many months and sometimes years.

I use GoodSync to sync my normal folders from my MAC Book Pro and my Mac Pro desktop so that I can have the same information (in real time) when working from home on my big machine or at the office using the laptop. This is great except I can not sync the email. I use Outlook 2011 but would prefer to use apple mail if I can sync the two computers (Sync'ing Outlook 2011 is even more impossible).

I also do not want to start and stop my email clients to make this happen and worry about which MAC is running mail and what direction to copy the entire folder structure just to have to follow that up with a new re-build of the index.

Also keep in mind the amount of data - Cloud based solutions are dependent on Internet connection speed (days of initial transfer time and hours to sync) and if I am on my laptop without internet connection, say on an airplane, I would be out of luck so I need the information local on each computer.

Software :: Safari Insisting - Twitter Rss Feed?

Sep 28, 2010

Every half hour I keep getting this popup: I've deleted my cache, cookies, browser history and rss articles. There are no twitter/rss bookmarks anywhere. I could deselect the option in Preferences to auto update any rss feeds of the bookmarks bar, but rather leave this default. Why is Safari insisting there is a twitter rss feed and wants to update it when I cleared everything? There seems to be some mention of twitter rss somewhere in Safari. I'v also tried to delete the Database3 file. Safari made a new one, but the twitter rss popup still appears. I'm using a Mac osx 10.4.1 dual Core Intel Xeon. Can I totally clear any rss subscriptions/feeds somehow (even though I never subscribed to any twitter rss feed).

It started right after I changed something in my keychain app, but don't really remember what where.

OS X :: Building A Lan For Mac Computers?

Jul 26, 2009

I have been pondering building a LAN for a Computer System that is used for Photography Editing/Printing and Videography this will be for multiple MAC computers which will share a mass storage drive and accommodate a print server capable of addressing 6 Epson Stylus Pro printers with print expansion to 10 printers. The beginning network will consist of 2 iMACs, 3 MAC Pro's and 1 MAC Book. The Network server needs to be at least 2 TB with expansion capabilities. In addition, the Server must be able to address up to 8 MAC computers. I have been searching the WWW as well as various manufactures for information but after hours of searching and reading they all claim to be capable of doing what I desire. I am interested in feedback from MAC users who have experience in this area and have positive results. If you have built a similar system and can recommend the Hardware/Software that has functioned with your MAC equipment I would be interested in your results and recommendations. Finances are not an issue so going cheap is not my intent, speed, reliability and expandability are key factors.

OS X :: Computers Do Not Show Up On Network Tab

Jan 28, 2006

When I open finder and click network, I don't see my respective other Mac. The iMac doesn't show the Powerbook there, and the Powerbook doesn't show the iMac. Both machines list my XP machine though. I can go to "go connect to server" under finder and enter computer name or IP address, and it does connect to the other Mac. However, why isn't it just showing up under network? Yes, I do have file sharing on.
