Applications :: ICal Not Updating Date In Dock Icon?

Apr 9, 2010

I just noticed that my iCal doesn't anymore update it's Dock-Icon with the correct date? I remember that this has worked flawless before, so I must have changed something (maybe the 10.6.3 update)? When I start the iCal Application, the number (e.g. 9 for 9.4.2010) gets updated, but as soon I close it, it'll go back to 6 (for 6.4.2010).

When I launch ical it is also on the proper date and the dock icon will display the proper date as long as ical is open. When I close ical the dock icon displays the wrong date again.

Applications :: ICal Dock Icon Stuck On Feb 21

Feb 23, 2010

When iCal is closed (meaning I've quit the app), the date on the iCal dock icon is "Feb 21". When I open iCal, it changes to Feb 23. When I quit again, it goes back to Feb 21. I'm pretty sure that iCal is supposed to show the correct date regardless of whether it's opened or not. Can anyone confirm this for me? Isn't the stock icon date for iCal 'July 17'?

OS X :: Trying To Get ICal Icon Not Display Date

Oct 24, 2010

I am trying to get the iCal's icon to not display the date, but nothing works. Here's what I did so far: changing most of the icns files in the iCal.app/Contents/Resources. and changing the App-empty.icns in iCal.app/Contents/Resources/iCalDockTilePlugIn.docktileplugin/Contents/Resources. So the icon is changed, but the date still shows up on it. I am not using candybar.

OS X :: After Updating To 10.6.6 / Several Icons In Dock Were Replaced With A '?' Icon?

Jan 7, 2011

Yesterday I upgraded my mid-2010 MacBook Pro to 10.6.6 using the combo update. I have never had any problems with this Mac, until now.The problems were apparent right from the first post-update login; several icons in my dock were replaced with a '?' icon.

Being fairly knowledgeable about simple problems like this, I instantly dragged the '?' off the dock and re-added the application icons to the dock. That worked fine. So I turned my Mac off and walked off. However, when I turned it on, the problem reared its ugly head again. The dock went back to exactly how it was prior to me rearranging it.Brushing it off as something minor, I opened up iTunes to sync my iPad. This went fine until it got stuck syncing my contacts. I have tried to sync it multiple times with no luck. It simply won't let me sync it. I reinstalled iTunes, thinking that it may fix the problem. Still nothing.

Frustrated with my situation, I opened up Safari, and began to type something into the search bar. Safari froze up and crashed. Now, whenever I stay in Safari for more than a few seconds, it crashes. Again, I reinstalled it, to no avail.I figured that perhaps something had gone wrong in the update progress, so I decided to apply the update again. Still nothing. If anyone else is experiencing similar problems, or has any possible fixes for my problems, I'd love to hear about it.I don't like to jump to conclusions, but it seems as though this update was pushed out as quickly as possible in order to launch the Mac App Store, without much bug-testing being done.

OS X :: ICal Icon Invisible In Dock

My iCal icon is invisible within the dock. It appears the normal icon when I open iCal but when I quit it, it goes back to being invisible. I have taken it out of the dock, putting it back in the dock, and the issue is still there. This happened a few days ago, and a restart fixed the problem, but it came back today. It seems its only ical.

Applications :: Unable To Change ICal Icon - Reverted To Default

I use change my icons, at least the dock ones to make them look uniform. I usually manually change them, (copy, ctrl+i, paste) but for ical I had a problem. I did the normal routine and it did work. It changed the icon to what I wanted, until I opened the program. Then it changed it back to the default icon. So I used Candybar to do the samething, and the same thing happened. I did this for about 20 icons or so, and they all changed, except for ical. Well it did change initally but when I opened it, it reverted.

OS X :: How To Monitor Starting Applications (Dock Icon)

Nov 19, 2008

Since a few days something randomly appears in the dock for a split second. It doesn't stay on for enough time to really see what it is. I've tried to narrow it down but I couldn't find anything in the logs. All I know is that perceived by peripheral vision, it looks similar to the Console icon. I'd really like to know, since this behavior is quite suspicious. Is there an app recording the start of a new process? Alternatively I could make a screenshot every 125ms, but that's not really an elegant solution (plus an image of this icon). I haven't installed anything except Lyx and ProVoc recently.
