Applications :: How To Find Safari Cache Location
Was looking in the folder structure to know the location of the cache for Safari. All I could find was a folder named com.Apple.Safari at ~/Library/Caches. But this folder was empty and I could not find the corresponding cache.db file in it!

Applications :: Cannot Find Location Of Firefox Folder On Mac
I just bought a macbook and wanted to copy over all my firefox settings. I found this site http://www.10voltmedia.com/blog/2008...ith-mozbackup/ which explains how. I did most of the steps like using mozbackup and making it's exported files into a zip but when it came to replacing the folder they said on the mac I can't seem to find a firefox folder. Even the mozilla folder I found doesn't have anything in. I tried finding it by doing a search for the addons I have installed into firefox thinking I might locate it that way but no luck. Another webpage said I could find the location of the folder through fiefox itself but the way it told me also didn't seem to exist on my mac. How can I find my firefox folder?

Mac Pro :: 2XRaid 32GB Cache V.s 3XRaid 16GB Cache?
I need to populate the bays of my new MacPro 2.66 with 5GB RAM. The stock HD turns out to be a Seagate 250GB HD ST3250820A. I've found them online and wonder if I just should RAID three or four of them as opposed to one Seagate 500GBs or 750 with 32GB cache? These would all be a Raid run by Apple software not a RAID card.

OS X :: Empty Cache Feature On Safari?
I'm brand new to mac, just got a 15" mbp. On my PC I was constantly used to clearing cookies, temp files, history, etc under properties on IE, because for security reasons, and to keep viruses at bay. What does the "Empty Cache" feature do on Safari 4? Is that the same as clearing cookies?

Safari Not Clearing Cache Consistently
Safari 5.0.5. MacOS 10.6.8..I am developping complex HTML+JavaScript. I notice that after a while (~30 mn) Safari does not clear its cache and re-uses old JS scripts. I have caches disabled in the development menu. Clearing cache or reinitialize Safari from the Safari menu is of no help.Only way is to delete the cache.db file in Libray/cache/com.apple.safari, exit Safari, empty trash, then relaunch ! OS X Tiger :: Cannot Find A Location To Apply For A Password
A small screen keeps coming up about twice a minute, day in, day out, nor matter what program I'm in. It's entitled, "WebDAV File System Authentication." It asks for name and password, and I have been unable to delete the thing. I think if I could give it the correcdt password, it would be satisfied and go away, but I've tried every one I think I ever used, but to no avail. I don't even know what the WebDAV file system is. I can not find a location to apply for a password in order to satisfy its requirements. Information: OS X 10.2 Mac OS X (10.2.x)

IWeb 09 :: Can't Find Domain Location
Mac OS 10.5.2 (w/ iWeb '08) on one hard drive of Mac Pro and OS 10.5.2 is what I use 99% of time. Have never used iWeb '08. The domain under User folder-Library-App Support-iWeb-domain reflects this. This is OK and expected. On a completely separate hard drive on Mac Pro I also have system 10.5.8 installed including iWeb'09. Use this system only to sync iPhone. For some reason when I decided to make a web page I was under system 10.5.2 and must have opened iWeb'09 under the application folder on that second hard drive. Attempted to start a web page and did a few things. Days pass. Put iWeb'09 in dock, subsequently made lots of changes and published to web last week. HOWEVER, the domain under User folder from hard disk2-Library-App Support-iWeb-domain shows only the first attempt to start a web page. I click on that domain and there is nothing with the changes. If I click on the iWeb'09 located in the dock the web page WITH changes shows up. I can not now transfer the domain with the changes to another computer to work on it or save it to backup because I cannot locate it. It is NOT the domain under either of the User folders listed above. Information: MacPro 3Ghz Mac OS X (10.5.2) 5GB RAM, FCS2 (6.0.3)

Mac Safari :: Clearing Cache And Web Previews In 4.0.3?
I had a problem where an old page was loading in a window of Safari and it was because the cache page was loading, not the real, new updated page. (Discovered by opening in FireFox...) Now I see that in /users/myname/Library/Caches there are 2 folders related to Safari and each had over 500 mb of stuff: One is com.apple.Safari and then the folder web pages preview; the other is the folder Safari in that same Caches folder. I used the command EMPTY CACHE in Safari, but it seems all these hundreds of files were still there. Any way to have them periodically (or upon startup of Safari or the Mac) automatically deleted? Snow Leopard :: Safari Cache And IPhoto Library Fragmentation
Some days back, with the help of iDefrag I found out that my entire HD was badly fragmented inspite of having 95GBs free space. So I decided to do what an average mac user does to fix this. I backed up everything my my TM drive and restore the entire from there. Then I ran iDefrag and things were neat. However, I do notice that Safari cache and iPhoto library are always reported as fragmented portions on the HD by iDefrag. Infact, I often see the colored ball - wait indicator when switching tabs in safari or when I work with photos in iPhoto. I don't mind clearing the cache of safari. I'm somewhat worried about my iPhoto library. I have all my personal and family pics in one library as thats easier to maintain. Noticed that even linux virtual disk of vmware is completely fragmented, which I made after I restored with TM. Information: MacBook 5,1 Mac OS X (10.6.4) iOS 4.0.2

IWeb 09 :: Way To Find Image Fill Tile File Location?
I want to edit the background on an iWeb template. The template uses tile fills to color the background. Some pages are yellow, some are purple. I want to change a purple page to a yellow one.When selecting Page Background->Image Fill->Tile->Choose to change the purple page to a yellow one, I'm given a file search. I need to know where the template's tiles are stored, so I can change the page. A simple color fill doesn't work with this template.Where are the tiles for iWeb's backgrounds stored? I've not been able to find them in any Library/Application Support locations.

OS X Leopard :: Custom Search - Changing Find Window Location Button
I can easily search almost any way I wish in Tiger, but I not in Leopard. Right now, in a Finder window, when I press command F, it switches to a "Find" window (I suppose this is properly called "Spotlight" or at least it is an element of Spotlight). I notice it has two dark location buttons. One is marked "This Mac" and the other is showing the name of one of my internal drive volumes (one that has no system installed). I don't remember designating which of my drive volumes should be represented on this button, and that is exactly what I want to change. How do I change this "Find" window to show a different drive volume for that location button? Information: PM G4 FW800 Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Applications :: Can't Find Preferences .plist For Safari 4 On Vista
I've been trying to find the title mentioned file on my Vista machine for a while now, and no luck. I've read numerous articles describing how it is located at C:/Users/*Username*/AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer/Safari But I have everything except the Preferences plist. Ultimately I just want to adjust the settings as you would with terminal to make Safari 4 use its blue inline progress bar, I think this is a bug (which I have reported). Secondly, would anyone happen to know how to make the User Agent a permanent change to Firefox 3, as this is the only way to be able to access Live Mail, as Safari 4 seems not to want to play ball with it. The temporary fix so I have found is to set the User Agent as Firefox 3 (Even the IE8 didn't work??).

Applications :: Safari Continuously Loads - Can't Find Server
I've had a lot of trouble with Safari. First off, when I try to go to a website, Safari will continuously load the website for about a minute, until the "Page cannot be displayed" or "Safari can't find the server" page comes up. Then, if I try to go to the website again, it works. Just like that. This happens up to twenty times daily. Also, if I try to view pictures on Google Images, it will not load all of them. I don't understand what the problem is. This has been happening for months now. Ever since I've upgraded to Safari 5, it's ten times worse. I can't explain why Safari does this. I have a 2.53 Ghz, 4GB RAM, and 250GB MacBook Pro (2009). I haven't even had the laptop for a year. I have Internet security on my Mac (Intego), but don't know if that could contribute to the problem.
