In the past when I purchased items from the iTunes store, I was never charged sales tax. Now I am. What's goin' on? Did Apple change something or is this something my State did? (Illinois) Or was it just with that specific application? (AIM).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI reside in Tennessee where sales tax is 9.25%. I am being charged an extra 2 cents or so in tax on an average album purchase.Here is the most recent example. I bought Ryan Adam's iTunes Session album at the price of $7.99. Here's the math:
$7.99 X 1.0925 = $8.729, or, rounded up, $8.73.
iTunes charged me $8.75. Why? It's an extra 2 cents and is an overcharge, no matter the small amount. I've looked at my account and this has happened on every iTunes purchase for at least 5 months. I didn't check back any farther, as obviously something is wrong, unless there is an additional tax I am not aware of. I don't want to think the worst about Apple, but it's hard not to calculate that 2 cents multiplied by millions is a lot of money.
I know there was an app recently (within the last year) that is supposed to be great for setting up sales pages and your items for ebay...does anyone know which app i am referring to?

My company sells about 50 different items, and I'm looking for a program that can track the daily sales of each item and then generate reports and graphs that detail the daily, weekly and yearly sales for each of the items. We also have about 30-40 different marketing initiatives, and the program would ideally be able to track those as well and prepare ROI tables.
I currently have something setup in Excel using PivotTables but it's not very robust, and the Excel file can get easily corrupted. I was thinking FileMaker might be a good solution, but I'm not sure if I'm knowledgeable enough to create the charts and graphs that I need, so I'm sort of hoping for a solution that comes ready made. I'm open to both software and webapps solutions.
I have a batch of HD video downloads in my iTunes Store queue that I can't delete. Before it was annoying, having to purchase both the regular video and HD video, then delete the unwanted HD download from my queue list, but now it's a problem. I can't empty the unwanted HD downloads, and for me to download them all will tie up my connection for a week or more.

I downloaded a few albums from itunes today. I thought most stuff up there was now standard mp3 and not silly proprietary formats. alas the albums are in m4a format, and thus unreadable by a 3rd party application I use to slow down the tunes so I can learn them easier. How do I ensure that I am downloading only standard mp3s from itunes? I cant find a menu setting, and I cant find a column to show me the format of the song I am downloading.

FYI the two podcasts are the BS Report by Bill Simmons from ESPN and the Dan Patrick show. Not the biggest deal as I can stream them directly from the podcast websites via safari, but of course I can't get them in my iPod/iPhone till I get home.
View 2 Replies View Relatedthis album is on iTunes. so there is cover art. i put in my CD and get an incorrect picture and CD listing. i fix this, i then try to import the correct picture and get nothing. i USED to be able to fix this by making sure that the album name, artist, and song name were the exact same as iTunes store....no dice now. the iTunes art is clearer than any Jpeg i will find...i would prefer it..but HOW? if i could just GRAB the art or point iTunes at the listing in the store, i would be appeased.

I have the new macbook (don't think that matters at all) and it occurs when I scroll manually or use the two-finger scroll. It also has loads of missing images/links and when buffering a preview track it takes up to 30 seconds to play a few seconds of the track. I reinstalled the latest version and that didn't solve the problem. I am using an Imac and OS 10.6.5. My Itunes version is 10.1.1.
Over the last couple of months, I sometimes get an error when using the iTunes Store: "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network connection is active and try again." It seems happen at random. I click to download an app and I get the message. I click again and it works. Sometimes I'm browsing the store and everything's fine, then I start getting the message over and over for a while.
I tried rebuilding my home network, updating airport software, everything I could think of on my end. Is this a problem on Apple's servers? Do a lot of other people have this problem? I haven't had much luck finding answers on this site or searching Google. I use an Airport Extreme, I have Time Warner Cable internet. I have no other internet connection issues.
There are several computers here with multiple users, all of which have their own local accounts per machine.
For iTunes, the music will be stored on a network, which will auto-attach at login. Setting up iTunes to point to the network location, that's easy, and it copies music there.
However, iTunes still seems to insist on keeping its library database local, and then of course, moving from machine to machine, that user's library doesn't follow them, even if the music does because it stays on the network.
Is there a way to make iTunes store its library database somewhere other than the local home folder?
I did not find this using the search feature, although I guess I'm not the first one to ask..
Is it possible to open a US iTunes Store account from Europe? I want to download TV series etc from the iTunes store. What do I need should it be possible? Can I do it with a european credit card?

I've searched high and low for the error code -9813 and can find no documentation anywhere. It has been doing this since yesterday and the error fires as soon as it attempts to connect to the server however the store content (pre-login) all loads fine i.e. adverts etc within iTunes.
I love to rent movies through AppleTV. BUT BUT BUT . . . the movie selection and tv series selection sucks. NO new season of Dexter. No District 9. No Kung Fu Panda. In fact, not a whole lot of movies being added. The ones that get added are slow to be added. Come on. I want good selection. It is a problem when Hilton Hotel PPV has better movie choices than I do on AppleTV. (please no jokes about hotel porn, I mean real movies). Who do I complain to? Is there any hope this will get better?
