I cannot get a solid answer on this one. Since the update it seems that safari fails to save my login info. For example I have to re-enter my username and pass for macrumors atleast once everyday. Also it seems that Safari occasionally hogs more memory and resources after extended use. Anyone else?

Now, every time I try to run Safari I have to re-select my home router and type in the WEP password, every single time. So I just installed Tech Tool Deluxe onto my macbook and then shut it down later. I went back to use it again and when i turned it on a login screen appeared asking me to put in my password. I did that and the screen turned blue (looking like it was loading) and then went back to the login screen. Every time i put in my password it just takes me back to the login screen. I have had my mac for a while and i dont want my hardrive to get wiped out so what do i do? Thank you for looking

I am able to login to everything and set my username as the administrator, but I can not set a password for it, if i try to input a password or change the password I get an error message saying I have input an incorrect password. When I purchased the computer everything was blank except for the user name was set as mac user, as I said I was able to change the username but not the password.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since yesterday, every time I open a bookmark in Safari, or enter a URL and hit enter, the page will just remain blank...only after I hit reload, or re-click the bookmark the page will load. This isn't always the case but happens a lot. This also occurs on my dads MacBook Pro so maybe it is an issue with my Airport Extreme?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI work for a company that has several Macs available for customers' use. These are basically demo-machines that they can play with, and at the end of each day, the machines are wiped and rebooted.
The way we do this is simple: the machines auto-login to the Guest account, which will wipe the account at the end of the day. Well, getting a few new Macs in this week, I simply copied over the entire Guest user account to the new machines to avoid reloading all the demo content, preferences, etc. And truthfully, the machines have been working great.
Except one thing. The computer keeps giving me that annoying message that says "Safari (or Finder, or System Preferences, or anything!) wants to use keychain 'login'". And asks for the login keychain password. Well here's the thing: the Guest accounts don't have passwords!
So I looked up a little bit on this topic, and did things like... Went to "Keychain List" in the Edit menu of Keychain Access, and deleted both the "login" and "system" keychains. No help. I went to Preferences in Keychain Access and said "Reset My Keychain". When doing this, however, it asks for the new password for the login keychain.
The problem with this is that I cannot leave the field blank! The Guest account doesn't have a password, so how am I supposed to not create a password?
Can someone please help me figure out why it is that iTunes is now requiring that I enter my iTunes password seemingly every day for any new purchases I make, even though I've checked the checkbox to "remember password". I can't be sure but this behavior either started happening when I upgraded to Snow Leopard, or when I upgraded iTunes to version 9. I know this must have been addressed on these forums somewhere, but I wasn't able to come up with any thing meaningful when I did some searching for the answer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the latest version of Safari (5.0.2) on Snow Leopard 10.6.4. I'm also using 1Password (3.4.4). I'm encountering two issues:
1) Safari rarely Autofills user/passwords when surfing. Autofill is checked off for "User names and passwords".
2) I keep getting prompted over and over again to save my login information in Safari. I continue to click "Yes" but neither Autofill remembers the information and I get prompted again the next time I login.
I just installed a new Modem/Router a Speedport W 502V (I am not impressed with it but my old one died and this needs to do for a few weeks). I like it to store my password but it does not.Â
I have Autofill on and I have a extension installed called "autocomplete" but it still does not do it. I am also not sure if it still works as there seems to be no download anywhere anymore.?

I get this error on all my computers when I try to download Lion. Mac OS X 10.7 requires at least 2 GB of memory.... But my systems show more than enough free space.

My password to a certain site changed, and Safari wouldn't remember the new password; it maintained the old one. So I went in to Safari preferences and removed the site from the list. Now, I can't get Safari to remember the username or the password. I exited Safari and went back to the site again, but the login boxes were empty. How to correct this?

When I enter username and password it fails log in.However, when I enter the same username and password using Chrome, Opera on the same computer and another computer the log in works fine.Other websites are all working fine: such as access to bank, my company's vpn, other user forums, etc.I have done all of the following but none has helped:
1. re-reset Safari and re-emptied cache, restarted computer and restarted Safari

I am unable to log in to my AT&T account through Safari, but am able to with Firefox. Can someone explain what my problem is and suggest a fix. The AT&T tech guy said it is a common problem with Safari.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis was happening with my old 2006 Macbook. I just upgraded to a new MacBook Pro the other day and I am still having the same problem. For years it worked without a problem. One day I cleared the cache and Safari no longer saved bookmarks or allowed me to delete exisiting ones.
I am able to delete old ones and add new, but the program reverts to previously saved very old settings on restart.Â

However, Terminal is asking me for my admin password but it's not allowing me to enter it. The cursor is not blinking it's just a solid black oblong - just bl**dy sitting there! Absolutely no response to any key except the enter key - then terminal helpfully says, 'Sorry, try again' What's going on? I just wanna get rid of Virex!!!

I can't see "Options" under "Save as" but I'm just trialling iWorks (full iWorks disc arrives next week).
In our higher education Mac computer lab, a printer may become paused (I am not sure why). But this requires an administrator password to unpause the printer, which only the admin in another building has. Is there a way to stop this type of activity? What causes a printer to become paused? Is there a way to not require admin status to continue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was just browsing the Internet as usual, and suddenly my Mac popped up a dialog box with the message "Software Update wants to make changes", asking me for an administrator's password. I checked in the Dock and Software Update was NOT running!Â
I clicked Cancel on the box and it popped up again 2-3 times before finally going away. Can Software Update run in the background without any user intervention now? Could it be some kind of new Mac malware?
