Each time I open Safari on my MacBook Pro, a window appears asking me to enter my Login password. I do this, and everything works fine. But I do not understand why Safari asks me to enter my Login password. How do I turn this "feature" off?

She doesnt remember ever setting a "keychain" password, and tried to type in the password that she uses to log into her macbook, but apparently it's not the same password. What can I do to get rid of this if she doesn't know the password? Can I delete and then reinstall Safari? Do I need to reformat and install the entire OSX? Should I just use Firefox and forget about Safari?

Forgive me for not knowing the proper terminology. I have a MacBook Pro running the latest Snow Leopard. I am the only user on my laptop. When I turn on my laptop, it just starts up and I am in. No login. But I recently decided that I should increase my security a little by having the OS prompt me for my password upon waking up from sleep/screensaver. Is there any way to customize the little, basic window that appears where I enter my password? Most forum entries discuss the login window, but I don't think that's what this is called. I'm not really logging in - just unlocking it. I'd like to be able to customize the appearance of the window, the text, maybe make sounds if the wrong password is entered, etc. Main reason for this is for security purposes. If someone tries to use my laptop while it's sitting on my desk at work, I'd like to know (and would like him/her to know I know). Maybe hear it - maybe see some message.

Safari will not allow me to enter websites with 1 passwords. When I input the password it reverts back to enter you password. I have updated to all of the newest versions and Safari is still not working. I am having no issues with Firefox.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to uninstall Virex 7.5. I have got the Terminal uninstall command which opens Terminal. So far, so good. However, Terminal is asking me for my admin password but it's not allowing me to enter it. The cursor is not blinking it's just a solid black oblong - just bl**dy sitting there! Absolutely no response to any key except the enter key - then terminal helpfully says, 'Sorry, try again' What's going on? I just wanna get rid of Virex!!!

Well I do not actually have a password set so usually I just hit enter with it blank but when I do that in Terminal it says sorry wrong password or something until I hit the 3rd try and it boots me.

So I went in to Safari preferences and removed the site from the list. Now, I can't get Safari to remember the username or the password. I exited Safari and went back to the site again, but the login boxes were empty. How to correct this?

I cannot get a solid answer on this one. Since the update it seems that safari fails to save my login info. For example I have to re-enter my username and pass for macrumors atleast once everyday. Also it seems that Safari occasionally hogs more memory and resources after extended use. Anyone else?

Everytime I sign facebook, it is keep delay delay and can't enter the front page. I check up cookies, try facebook widget, and trying to solve and nothing happen yet. It is strange that mobile facebook works. I prefer laptop. I only have mac 10.3.9 and using safari and firefox.

So I just installed Tech Tool Deluxe onto my macbook and then shut it down later. I went back to use it again and when i turned it on a login screen appeared asking me to put in my password. I did that and the screen turned blue (looking like it was loading) and then went back to the login screen. Every time i put in my password it just takes me back to the login screen. I did have a look this morning & there was a suggestion about something I think was called speeddownloader which I looked for but couldn't see it. I am new to MAC's. View 3 Replies View RelatedI set her password and set the preferences to require a password to log in.Now, if she's not at the computer a while the screensaver kicks on, and after 30 minutes it kicks the logged in profile back out to the login screen. The problem is the screensaver never resumes?Even if I set the S.C to 3 minutes, manually log out to the login screen it'll sit there and show that (never go to screensaver or powersave mode for the monitor).
View 8 Replies View RelatedI trying to figure out why my macbook pro running tiger has started logging me out immediately after I log in, and what I can do to fix this.I am correctly entering the password (just in case you thought I didn't know the password) as it accepts it and logs in, starts to change the desktop background and then just as the Finder bar appears I am logged out and send straight back to the main login box. It does this for the main User (admin) account. I have tried booting in safe mode and this does the same thing. The Guest login does work however.

I never had prooblems over the last 12 months in switching between the two but recently when I try to boot OSx, the apple screen comes and stays there forever without going to the login screen. I have been having some problems with Windows lately as well with auto restarts.

A normal screen, a projector and a USB-to-DVI converter.When I log in the login screen appears on either the projector or the converter screens. Not on the normal screen. I need to drag the cables out for the login to enter on the normal screen. The normal screen is set to the primary screen so thats not the problem.

Every 10 minutes I get a pop up window that reads, "To synchronize your keychain on this computer, enter the password for your user account on..." then it says the name of my macbook pro. My problem is that I type in the password but another window comes up rejecting it, claiming my password is incorrect....which isn't true.

I have tried resetting "Everyone: No Access" and "<myusername>:read&write" from CMD+I for all relevant files and folders, but it still does this. This is pertinent to stuff such as ~/Documents ~/Pictures etc, (NOT ~/Library by the way).
