OS X :: Safari Sometimes Unable To Initially Load The Page Requires A Reload Or Reclick

Apr 10, 2009

Ever since yesterday, every time I open a bookmark in Safari, or enter a URL and hit enter, the page will just remain blank...only after I hit reload, or re-click the bookmark the page will load. This isn't always the case but happens a lot. This also occurs on my dads MacBook Pro so maybe it is an issue with my Airport Extreme?

Safari :: 'Configure' Page Doesn't Load

Jun 14, 2012

When I go through the Apple Store ordering process, the body of the 'configure' page won't load. I get the header and footer, but no actual way to add more ram, bigger HD, applecare, etc, and proceed to place an order. Just a big empty space.

This is only happening on my Mac Pro in safari. It works fine on firefox, and on safari in my MBP. I've tried the usual basics, restart, repair permissions, reset safari, download and reinstall.... but I still can't get the page to show properly.

I cannot get a solid answer on this one. Since the update it seems that safari fails to save my login info. For example I have to re-enter my username and pass for macrumors atleast once everyday. Also it seems that Safari occasionally hogs more memory and resources after extended use. Anyone else?

Applications :: Safari Doesn't Load All Images On A Page?

Mar 4, 2009

I've had problems for a while with Safari sporadically not loading images on some web pages. The problem was so irritating that I ditched it in favour of Camino.

Now Safari 4 is out, I'm trying to move back, but the problem is still there.

It typically happens when viewing a page containing lots of images. Here are two I have recurring problems with:

[URL]

[URL]

A bit of Googling shows I'm not alone, but there doesn't seem to be any proper explanation of the problem or a solution out there. Clearing the cache solves the problem temporarily, but it quickly returns and there's no rhyme or reason to what will or won't load. I've also tried resetting Safari and deleting the prefs file (which I guess do the same thing).

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Suddenly Safari Won't Load Page While Chrome And Firefox Can

May 22, 2012

I’ll try to be as specific as I can. I’m running Safari 5.1.7

From time to time, Safari seems to encounter a problem with opening https (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure). Either the page won’t open or the page will take deveral minutes to load (like four minutes to load Twitter home page).

When it happens, it seems to cause Safari the misbehave with any other page: Safari becomes in effect broken. Meanwhile, pages load normally in Chrome or Firefox.

Sometimes, restarting the computer will fix the problem (for a while), but sometime it doesn’t. I’ve also tried to empty Safari’s cache and flush its DNS. It doesn’t always work. I coming here because I restarted by computer half an hour ago and pages are still loading in Safari.

Other valuable information:

1) The problem with https existed prior to me upgrading to 5.1.7

2) I can be using Safari for days before I encounter the problem

3) I usually work with thre or four windows open, each loaded with about ten tabs.

IMac (Intel) :: Reload Webpages 20-30 Times Before Page Loads Fully

Sep 1, 2014

I have a 20inch early 2009 iMac running OS X 10.9.4.

I have been having crippling WiFi problems were I am forced to reload webpages 20-30 times before the page loads fully. I have tried many things and even upgraded the RAM to 8gb, and I still have the same problem. I have also tried resseting the WiFi, router, and iMac and it seems my problem is more complicated than that. I have run a test too and I had no lost packets. The strange thing is after a webpage not loading, if I refresh the page 20-30 times it finally loads!

OS X :: Unable To Load Images On Firefox/Safari?

Feb 25, 2008

I've avoided asking this question for over a year but I just can't take it anymore.

Ever since I got my first macbook pro(Tiger) in 2006, I've had a pretty poor web-surfing experience when it comes to pages with a large quantity of images.

Whether it's in Firefox or Safari, it seems it takes forever to load jpegs, gifs, pngs, etc., much slower than in Windows.

And more often than not, it'll often just stop trying to load some of the images and leave empty frames instead. An annoying side effect of these situations is that I won't be able to load other websites in separate tabs until I wait 2 or 3 minutes at least.

It almost mimics what happens when you just plain lose your internet connection. My best example is www.fark.com.

Sometimes posters will post large quantities of images, 100+. Heck, what am I saying, sometimes it's not even that much but Firefox and Safari will still choke trying to retrieve the pictures.

I set aside the macbook for this very reason because I often open multiple tabs at once when I surf..and if one of those tabs just happen to be image-intensive, my whole surfing experience will grind to a halt until whatever process is happening times itself out.

I THOUGHT the problem would be fixed with Leopard..but it hasn't. I've searched the forums but I haven't found anything useful, although I've caught small stories here and there of people having the same issue, but nothing widespread.

The whole problem starts with image files...and sometimes it doesn't necessarily need large quantities to choke. Just a modest amount will do sometimes.

Any ideas?? Is it my router? (WRT54G) My DSL connection? (Yahoo SBC) It happens on either wireless or with cable. My windows boxes don't have this problem.

Not having images load is bad enough, but having your browser stall is just insufferable! (I'm also using a brand new Macbook Pro so this problem stems across two revisions)

Safari :: 5.1.4 - Unable To Fully Load Google Documents

Mar 12, 2012

I am having issues with the latest version of Safari -- 5.1.4 -- not being to fully load Google documents. I have a MacBook 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB of RAM, processor, I'm running OS X 10.7.3, and Safari simply will not load the Google docs web page. It gets about one-quarter of the way through it and then simply stops loading. Occasionally, it will load a partial list of documents, but then I get an error message which said Google docs has failed if I click on a specific document (which it loads but won't load the editing tools). So, I'm having to use Chrome. Google docs worked on the previous version of Safari. This is new, and happened after I upgraded this afternoon.

OS X :: Safari Dragging - Can't Reload

Dec 21, 2008

I've been kicking around the idea of reformatting my iMac and starting fresh. It's not slow by any means (2.4ghz aluminum, 4gb ram, 320gb hd), but when I create a new user account I can tell the new account is faster. That is what is primarily pushing me to go ahead and reformat the computer with a completely fresh install, however it seems like I really don't need to go that far since it is only that user account that is drug down with over a year of accumulation in preferences, add-ons (such as Candybar 3, Perian, etc). The master account just is not "snappy" like a fresh account and I don't see a need in reformatting the computer if it is still fast on a new account, so. what to do? I don't want to reload all my apps in a fresh install if I don't have to, and one in particular (iMovieHD) I CAN'T reload since I can't find the disk anymore (one out of 30 disks I have goes wandering, it had to be that one).

What's REALLY been bugging me though, is Safari. I'm on 3.1.2 and it really just isn't cutting it. On my test account it is easily faster than on my master account. What all should I delete in my Safari app to get it back to factory fresh speeds without attempting to reinstall it? It takes about one full second longer to load on my master account Safari than on the fresh test account I made on my iMac. I can open Adobe Photoshop CS4 in under 4 seconds so I know the computer isn't dragging. It seems like it is mostly Safari that is sluggish, but then at times it seems like that neck snapping speed of opening windows in finder also is just slightly delayed making it feel not as fast. I dunno, what should I do from here to snap things up in Safari and maybe finder as well? It can't be much slowing me down with CS4 opening in under 4 seconds. I mean.... I can almost open Photoshop CS4 as fast as I can switch web pages so. Safari really isn't working out at the moment. I'm on the upgraded 22Mbps comcast package so I have plenty of pipeline behind my internet.
