I am missing the window navigational buttons (top left of window) when I open certain applications. The buttons that I am missing are used to minimize, maximize and close the window. Please see the attached picture. I circled the area that should have the buttons present.
View 2 RepliesHow to add buttons back to the top. In Terminal type: Code: defaults write com.apple.iTunes full - window - boolean YES. To change back, use the same code, but trade YES for NO.
How to add color back to the icons:
1. Quit iTunes
2. Download the itunes10color.zip from here.
3. Right-click the iTunes icon and select "show in finder"
4. In Finder, right-click the iTunes icon again and select "Show package details"
5. Open "contents" and locate the "resources" folder.
6. Replace the file "iTunes.rsrc" with the one downloaded
Short version:
Replace /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/iTunes.rsrc with the downloaded file
Both are confirmed to work on an Intel Mac running Snow Leopard

I cannot find my iPhoto Library file. I had almost 17,000 pictures and now when I start iPhoto it shows an empty window to choose a new library or use an existent. But there is no library anymore under my pictures folder. I used Data Rescue 3 and Virtual Lab do not find pictures in my HD. How can I spotlight or find iPhoto Library in case I moved it somewhere else?

Well it happens to be on a server and I am trying to iron out what happens when you completely trash the system and start over. This problem occured in a subdirectory on one folder. It (the triangles ->) are there for all the other folders. However, there is one folder I had on a backup (backup, meaning still being a previous version of Lion) that at one point that any group of folders I place into it. there is no browsing triangle that lets you go down furthur. Yes you can open the folder and go further in, so its not prefs that I am aware of. Â

This is a strange one I can't seem to fix by deleting preferences or anything. On a ''normal'' Mac running Leopard or Snow Leopard, in the ''Shared'' part of the Finder sidebar, when you mount a drive a little round gray eject button appears beside it. On one single account on my Mac running Leopard 10.5.8 this strange thing happens where it does not appear--all of the other accounts work properly. How do I restore this? I've deleted the Finder preferences as well as the sidebar preferences, force relaunched Finder.

After a full migration from my 2006 Intel iMac to a new 12.1 21" iMac, I I tried to change some playlists and download other podcasts ect. on my ipods and i pad 2 on my new iMac , but the bar at the bottom of my sync window does not show the capacity bar along with the Revert and Apply buttons. Everything else looks like it should and I don't get any error messages.

The problem is sometimes switching from one user to another, we are able to type in a password, but the login and back buttons are disabled, like you are not able to click on them. It is basically frozen and we have to manually shut it down.

In my Finder window the Shared Section is missing. Its even checked under Finder>Preferences>Sidebar. Do I need to edit something in my Library. If so, what file? in what folder? I rebooted, reset, etc to no avial.

One of the pop-window in our web- application is not showing the vertical scroll bar in safari 5.0.5 only. This is on Snow Leopard. The scroll bar appears in later versions of safari like safari 5.1.1. etc.

Prior to Lion, whenever I open a window at bottom it would show # of items and space available in that window. Now all that info is missing in Lion. How can I get it back? Looking at options under Finder, I don't spot a way to restore like "15 items, 7GB available" as I used to see.

I am a pretty experienced Mac user but have never ran into this problem. My iDisk icon in the sidebar of the Finder window doesn't have an eject button. Any disk or other removable drive gives me the eject button but not the iDisk. I am running on the latest version of Tiger (10.4.5) and a 12" 1.25GHz iBook G4 with 1.25GB Ram. I know those stats really don't make a difference, except for maybe the OS, but just in case anyone was wondering.

When I disconnect, usually things behave, but occasionally the windows of certain programs will end up way out off the screen.Today I have a Thunderbird window that is far away (Mozilla apps are common victims/causes of this problem). Normally I would just quit and restart, but I don't trust it to save the draft of this important email.Here are the facts: The window is way off to the left. There is no one-pixel still on my main monitor. If I use F11 to see all Thunderbird windows, they swish in from the left, but if I select one they swish out again. Ditto if I minimize and maximize again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI know this is going to sound crazy. I know it because I have searched all over the web trying to find an answer and I cannot seem to find anyone that has even had this problem.
Last night I decided to format my Macbook Pro and do a clean OS install. This laptop has very sensitive information for my freelance work so I am sure to backup with Time Machine and also with BackBlaze (thank God!). I completed a manual Time Machine backup just before I formatted and confirmed that all the necessary folders were on the external Time Machine drive. The latest folder there showed August 18th 2009 dating all the way back to the day Leopard released (the day I began using Time Machine).
I restarted the machine with the Leopard disk and chose Disk Utility to zero out my laptop's internal drive. Once it was done, I began the Leopard install. Once that was done, it asked me if I wanted to restore from a Time Machine backup. How handy! I didn't know that would be an option. Naturally I selected that I wanted to do that and then selected my machine (oddly it was the only one listed, more on this later) and it began to do it's thing. Said it would take about 2hrs so I went to bed.
This morning is when all hell broke loose. I sat down to the laptop to see that my dock had icons that I removed long ago and the Menu Bar had icons missing... I immediately got sick to my stomach. I checked a file I was working on just a couple days ago to make sure it was there... WASN'T THERE. I then pulled up the contents of the Time Machine drive and this is when I almost fell out of my chair... The last backup folder in the list was March 31 2009. I checked all over the disk... the spareimage was last modified March 31st.
I don't know what to do! I tried to explain everything in detail so you could understand that there is NO CHANCE that I could have done this. Luckily my files are backed up to Backblaze but my music and movies are not. I only back those up locally. And the hassle of downloading 60GB of data from Backblaze
