So i was stupid and was playing with some themes. Somehow after uninstalling the few I downloaded and installed now all of my buttons on the top right of windows are tiny. Its no big deal but I want them back to the original size.

when i try to close, minimize or maximize a window on any app. on my macbook it ends u pdoing the next thing it is close to...!:[ why?an example is when i try to minimize (click on the yellow buble) it ends up closing the app. when i try to close it it minimize it@ first i thoguth it was a bug

View 2 Replies View Relatedso this has been bugging me ever since I made the switch. No this isn't a complaint about how the red X does not work like in Windows in closing an application. This is about hitting the red X to close the window which is what it's supposed to do, but then having the window go minimize in the dock instead of closing. Sometimes it takes two hits of the button after being minimized to finally close it.
This doesn't always happen but when it does it is annoying as hell. am I the only one experiencing this issue? Or is it purposely made that way?
I have a pair of frozen pop ups both including web plug ins from Safari. The Close buttons are non responsive and I have tried turning on and off.

I was playing with a Mac the other day and I noticed that the red ball with an X does not actually close a program. If this the way it works or there is an option to make the X close or minimize them?
View 24 Replies View RelatedIs there a way, to use the "Graphite" theme but have the minimize/zoom/close buttons coloured as in the "Blue" theme? I prefer the more simple Graphite theme but with occasional apps have to think twice, which button to click, to minimise but not close.
These are apps, that show the three buttons inconveniently vertical instead of horizontal (Speed Download or the iTunes miniplayer.
I am missing the window navigational buttons (top left of window) when I open certain applications. The buttons that I am missing are used to minimize, maximize and close the window. Please see the attached picture. I circled the area that should have the buttons present.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I have an Airport Extreme hosting my wireless network in my home office (second floor). A couple months ago I bought a Time Capsule (1TB) and have it extending my network from our family room (main floor).
I was just watching TV and saw the status light change from green to flashing yellow/orange. Thinking our internet just went down, I cracked open my MBP and fired up FireFox.... Internet is working just fine. Switched over to the Airport Utility and scanned for Devices. The only device found is my Airport Extreme.
I scanned my local area wireless networks, and all that can be found is the usual suspects... no new apple devices.Did a search on this forum and the apple support forum without finding anything super helpful.I know I could plug in via Ethernet and see if I could find it then...(its installed right under our TV and people are watching it right now)...
My next course of action is to reset the TC... When i set it back up, if I don't give it the exact same name... will i still be able to resume my back-ups from where they were before? (I know I shoulda backed up the config file... but I didn't)?
Advice?
(I highly doubt that it is a software update ... I keep ontop of those, and one hasn't been released for a while... My Extreme is at 7.3.2)
Update:
So after an hour researching all of this I came back downstairs and the TC status light is green... But its still not showing up in the AirPort Utility and I can't back up.

So I power cycled it and its fixed... hope this never happens again.
This is a strange one I can't seem to fix by deleting preferences or anything. On a ''normal'' Mac running Leopard or Snow Leopard, in the ''Shared'' part of the Finder sidebar, when you mount a drive a little round gray eject button appears beside it. On one single account on my Mac running Leopard 10.5.8 this strange thing happens where it does not appear--all of the other accounts work properly. How do I restore this? I've deleted the Finder preferences as well as the sidebar preferences, force relaunched Finder.

Then plug in your iPhone. iTunes 8.1.1 no longer expands and pops to the front of your screen! That's really cool! I noticed this in 8.1.1, but it could have been introduced in 8.1, I don't know.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAlu 24" 2.4ghz when they first came out with aluminum, got it at the store. since august 07 My imac had a small yellow tint, i noticed, when i got it and it was not worth anyhting screaming about, i also noticed it had bleeding issues ath the bottom and sides. I wanted to return it or trade but i was convinced out of it.
Now i noticed that from left to right their is a prominent yellow tint streaking it's way across and fading around the half way point.It is irritating and sad to see this display on this mac was ok, at first but it is geting slightly worse.I have apple care, can i trade this/replace it at an applestore, or would they need to fix it?
I am trying to edit a number of movie files and in the past I was able to quickly scroll through different files in Get Info with the Next and Previous buttons..Those buttons and their keyboard shortcuts have recently disappeared?

How to add buttons back to the top. In Terminal type: Code: defaults write com.apple.iTunes full - window - boolean YES. To change back, use the same code, but trade YES for NO.
How to add color back to the icons:
1. Quit iTunes
2. Download the itunes10color.zip from here.
3. Right-click the iTunes icon and select "show in finder"
4. In Finder, right-click the iTunes icon again and select "Show package details"
5. Open "contents" and locate the "resources" folder.
6. Replace the file "iTunes.rsrc" with the one downloaded
Short version:
Replace /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/iTunes.rsrc with the downloaded file
Both are confirmed to work on an Intel Mac running Snow Leopard
I have a desktop and I'm using iTunes version 11.4. I don't know when the buttons stopped working exactly but I've tried everything except downgrading itunes. They've always worked before.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't click in the next/previous buttons fast. I mean, if I click once (e.g. to skip a song) I can't click again until about 1 sec later. If I try to click again before 1 sec after the first click, it doesn't do anything at all, as if there's not even a button there. And no matter for how long I keep making several fast clicks, it just won't skip the song. I have to stop clicking, wait 1 sec, and THEN click. This happens either using the trackpad or a mouse. Quite annoying.
There's no problem though if I skip songs fast using the Next/Previous key in the keyboard.Â

I cant seem to subscribe to any podcasts in itunes. all the subscribe buttons are greyed out. Im new to mac and this is the first time ive tried so maybe im doing something wrong. I have a mac mini with leopard and the latest version of itunes. I tried to log into the store but it asks for my credit card which i don't want to give.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter a full migration from my 2006 Intel iMac to a new 12.1 21" iMac, I I tried to change some playlists and download other podcasts ect. on my ipods and i pad 2 on my new iMac , but the bar at the bottom of my sync window does not show the capacity bar along with the Revert and Apply buttons. Everything else looks like it should and I don't get any error messages.

The play/pause and skip/rewind buttons on my keyboard are not working with the latest version of iTunes (11.3.1). I've read about fixes related to the Google Chrome extension, but I don't have that extension. I noticed that the buttons work with Spotify but not with iTunes. When I test the buttons on iTunes, I make sure that Spotify is completely closed. The play/pause function is especially important to me, as I use it to transcribe interviews quickly.

what the difference is between the commands 'close window' and 'close all windows'? They seem to me to both have the same effect. In my earlier version of Safari, if I opened a new web page, it just replaced the earlier one, now though the new pages just keep accumulating. T

Since the most recent update, iTunes launches and re-launches itself all the time. Sometimes it shuts down long enough that I can reboot my computer which helps. But after a while iTunes launched itself and the whole thing started over.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the update for iTunes but I can't load it because it tells me to close the iTunes program. The only thing I tried to do was the install. I din't have iTunes open, but when I try to install it opens it. Also won't respond to trying to find out which version i have ot any other info . I had to close it buy using the atctivity monitor and forcing it closed. I just upgraded to lion the other day and have been trying to get this set up to work with the cloud which it did.

Other than Itunes 9.1 breaking outlook syncing on my ipod touch, I cannot close a video when it is running. The X with a circle around it does not close the video anymore. I have to hit escape every time. A reinstall also did not help.

I was wondering if maybe I have too much on my hard drive and that is why my most commonly used applications have suddenly begun to close mid-use. I've never had this problem before and have recently uploaded quite a bit of music/photos to my MacBook, so it seems to be the only logical explanation for it? Or, I don't think I could've gotten a virus because 1. I'm very cautious about the files I download and 2. I don't think Macs are susceptible to most viruses. I could be wrong, though.
Nonetheless, does anyone know of any solution for this?
