I need to download some of my photos from Flickr to my Mac and I'm wondering if there is any free/cheap software to do this on the Mac. I believe I could do this with Download on Windows but I'd rather not.
View 3 RepliesI am in need of a software that can resize my pictures, and do very light editing. Maybe adjusting contrast or color. Can I do this in iPhoto? I'm really trying to avoid paying 200 bucks for PhotoShop. If not in iPhoto, is there another program that comes with my mac, that I can use?

Does anyone know of a good application to find and delete duplicate photos. I'm trying to work with a massive photo library (40k+ images) and get rid of duplicates including thumbs created by Iphoto. I'd prefer freeware but am willing to pay if there is a particularly effective program.

First shot will be one-way, i.e. iPhoto will be the master and all images will be uploaded to Flickr and added to Sets. The application will use the capture date to keep track of images and so it should work even if you already manually uploaded some of your images. With this post I hope to gather some feedback on the idea.

1. Currently I sync everything, but I expect to have an option where you can filter out images which should not be synced.
2. Currently an iPhoto Album = a Flickr set. What about events?
3. Currently all keywords from iPhoto are added as keywords on Flickr. Would filtering be nice to have?
I want to maintain and update the set on my Mac from now on. I don't want to delete and upload new photos as I'll loose comments and what not. The photos in the existing set are currently in iPhoto, they were just manually uploaded. Is there any way to do this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using iPhoto 8.0.2 and want to upload to Flickr, but the login data are incorrect in iPhoto, and I see no way of changing the info.Clicking "Flickr" just shows a message "Login failed - The login details or auth token passed were invalid." and no way to change anything. Same happens if I choose "Flickr" from the menu under "share".

I was really looking forward to this feature as I use both websites regularly, and assumed I would be able to upload just one picture, and choose what album I would add that photo to online. But no, iPhoto needs me to have an entirely new Flickr album matching an entire iPhoto event.

I am spending tomorrow with my grandmother and she doesn't have the internets but I'd like to download some free programming manuals for later viewing. Unfortunately they don't have a PDF. Internet Explorer for Mac had a really nice feature where you could download a site for later offline viewing. I haven't seen a comparable feature in any other browser.

There seems to be a problem with connecting to tracker, however I have been using Tomato for months and it has worked perfectly in the past.
Can anyone suggest something better than unison for usenet? Currently I am using giganews as my usenet and the speeds are pretty crappy to what I get on newsbin for pc.

View 2 Replies View RelatedApparently Flickr has made another change & Aperture will no longer upload multiple images to an existing Flickr acct. I've tried 3 times & each time the 1st image gets posted but not the rest. Activity monitor shows all the files were uploaded but they don't show in my albums.Â
Apparently a switch from API to SSL (whatever that is) has also affected Adobe Bridge uploads.Â
Other than exporting & then using the Flickr uploader? Are the Flickr upload plug-ins still working?Â
I want to capture selections on my screen and add comments. Is there a program out there that will allow me to do that? I don't like the "grab it" program because it saves the captured file in a Tiff format instead of a Jpeg format.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI updated to Safari 5.1.7 a couple of days ago - and everything worked fine, as it always has done in Safari for me, until today. Now all images on Flickr flash white for a second after loading. Nothing has changed on the system in the meantime.

So while browsing the internet I have had the computer pop up to alert me that a program has downloaded itself. The first was PerformanceOptimizer which shrunk my screen and "informed me about the dangers of viruses". Then it force downloaded itself and my downloads stack showed me the .exe file. I removed and ran clamXav. Now the same thing happened but today it called itself Antivirus 2009. I force quit Safari and nothing downloaded to my stack. Is this how others here notice these attempts that are aimed at PC users?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWill someone clever please tell us newbies how to fix the problem: I have been using Filezilla (before that, Cyberduck) to upload files to my older style HTML website. I just installed Lion and there is a big cross sign through the latest Filezilla icon saying "PowerPC programs don't work under Lion." I read posts from people saying it works, other posts talking about another kind of FTP on the Mac itself, and lots of talk of SFTP and command line stuff.
For we who just use these apps by pushing buttons and moving on when they work, can you list step by step what we need to do to get Filezilla working again, or point to a different program to download? If I need to go back and reinstall my entire previous Snow Leopard machine from my bootable clone, tell me that and I'll do it. I have a long lost of to-do's and can't spend days experimenting with clean installs (however you do those).
Okay, I was working with iMovie and did something cool...but I don't know how I did it or how to repeat what I did.
I managed to make one "clip" which consists of 6 or 7 photos (imported from iPhoto)...and on top of (inside of?) that clip is the "far far away" title (the Star Wars one). I tried to do the same thing again, and couldn't figure out how I did it in the first place! Oops. Any clues would be great (I tried highlighting several pics and dragging them down to the timeline together...didn't work. I also tried a few other things, but no luck).
I broke my ankle last week so I have nothing but time to spend on my Mac. I am getting more and more into photoshop and working with layers. As this adds a lot of memory I figured this was a good time to 'clean up' my computer. I want to get all my photos off my computer and store them on an external hard drive(s). I have all my NEFS stored on a a separate internal hard drive. I collected all the images and deleted copies and filed them in separate folders depending on how they were 'saved'. My question is when I clicked on the 'house' and clicked Downloads it shows tons of images. The folders are still on my desktop as I have not as yet put them on an external hard drive. Would it be safe to delete all these images in my Downloads folder or could these images be the ones I have stored in folders as well?

I got an enormous external hard drive and it worked fine for a week or two, but now I am getting "start up disk is full" again-which is impossible-but obviously I am doing something wrong.
