I want to maintain and update the set on my Mac from now on. I don't want to delete and upload new photos as I'll loose comments and what not. The photos in the existing set are currently in iPhoto, they were just manually uploaded. Is there any way to do this?
View 3 RepliesI am currently developing an application which will be able to sync your iPhoto content with Flickr. First shot will be one-way, i.e. iPhoto will be the master and all images will be uploaded to Flickr and added to Sets. The application will use the capture date to keep track of images and so it should work even if you already manually uploaded some of your images. With this post I hope to gather some feedback on the idea.

1. Currently I sync everything, but I expect to have an option where you can filter out images which should not be synced.
2. Currently an iPhoto Album = a Flickr set. What about events?
3. Currently all keywords from iPhoto are added as keywords on Flickr. Would filtering be nice to have?
I'm using iPhoto 8.0.2 and want to upload to Flickr, but the login data are incorrect in iPhoto, and I see no way of changing the info.Clicking "Flickr" just shows a message "Login failed - The login details or auth token passed were invalid." and no way to change anything. Same happens if I choose "Flickr" from the menu under "share".
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am very disappointed to find that iPhoto only uploads photos to Facebook & Flickr in complete sets. I was really looking forward to this feature as I use both websites regularly, and assumed I would be able to upload just one picture, and choose what album I would add that photo to online. But no, iPhoto needs me to have an entirely new Flickr album matching an entire iPhoto event.

I just don't like how it is a separate calendar instead of syncing with the calendars I already have in iCal, I guess I'm looking for something that will sync my existing calendars on iCal with Google Cal similar to what Mobile Me does. View 1 Replies View RelatedOne possible way I can think of is to open up the iPhoto package, copy all the files to a new location (e.g. external hard drive). Uncheck Copy Items to iPhoto, create a new iPhoto library, and import the images from the new location. However, I am afraid that all of the metadata (keywords, location), events, faces, etc will not get transferred to the new library.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a new early 08 MBP laptop (Leopard) and a G4 tower (Tiger) using IPhoto 08. When out of town I have added photos to my laptop. I have also added different new photos to my tower. Is there a software way to update both computers to have the same photos? I have heard the term bi-directional (my Palm Treo does this). In the case of my Treo, if I have new info in both my phone and computer, both will be updated to match each other. Now I need to do that same syncing concept between both of my computers for IPhoto (I do not have .mac).

View 2 Replies View RelatedApparently Flickr has made another change & Aperture will no longer upload multiple images to an existing Flickr acct. I've tried 3 times & each time the 1st image gets posted but not the rest. Activity monitor shows all the files were uploaded but they don't show in my albums.Â
Apparently a switch from API to SSL (whatever that is) has also affected Adobe Bridge uploads.Â
Other than exporting & then using the Flickr uploader? Are the Flickr upload plug-ins still working?Â
I updated to Safari 5.1.7 a couple of days ago - and everything worked fine, as it always has done in Safari for me, until today. Now all images on Flickr flash white for a second after loading. Nothing has changed on the system in the meantime.

Does anyone here sync most or all their files between two macs? I have an imac and will be getting a mbp. I'd like both macs to have the same copy of itunes, iphoto and other documents. Will .mac sync do this or what software setup do you use to make this work?

I'm looking for something like syncOTunes but for iPhoto. My wife and I each have our own mac, and just like our music libraries, we end up with very different iPhoto libraries. From a simple "backup" perspective it would be nice to sync the two up now and then a la syncOTunes.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI plug in my iPod Touch and it always opens iPhoto. I took off photo syncing with iTunes and did nothing. I have iPhoto v6.0.6 and I could not find a "disable sync" anywhere in the preferences. I fond the application image capture but when I open it, nothing happens (the menu switches for a split second from finder to image capture then back to finder). I heard you can disable it through image capture but since the program seems to be faulty and does not open so I dont know what to do.

Activating the "Sync Photos from 'iPhoto'" option does not allow me to select individual albums, faces, etc. to sync. Attempting to sync result in the error "iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone 'Kyle Cunanan's iPhone' because your iPhoto Library could not be found. To see them in iPhoto I guess I have to import all of the pictures? Is that correct? If I do this the pics will be on my machine twice?

Now I cannot find the Convert Selection to ___ option anywhere. In fact when I look at the help file, it refers to the same location as I was used to going to... but the import tab is no longer a tab.. its a button on the General Tab.
A year ago I tested Spanning Sync for syncing my iCal with Google calendar. It worked out very well and I subscribed for one year (25 USD). Now there is version 2 around the corner that will add contact sync support. I have tried the beta and that works very well too.
My subscription is to end soon and I am thinking about extending. That would be another 25 USD for a year or 65 USD for life long subscription. Meanwhile I encountered another product called Busy Sync. I does almost the same (except contact syncing). With a coupon a single license per computer is 20 USD aka 40 USD for both of my macs.
I'm trying to understand how itunes imports files and where it puts them. Does itunes duplicate existing files when your first install it?
In other words if I have some songs and videos in my computer and I install itunes, I know it will search for files during the installation and add them to the itunes library so, here is where my question comes, does itunes copies the files it finds to the itunes library and leave the exiting files in its original location or it moves them to a new location?
I'm just trying to understand how itunes imports and stores files and where it puts them.
