I need the ability to past a tiff of my signature on pdf's ad type in dates and such. I can currently type dates in using Preview, how do I add the signature tiff and flatten the file using something other than Photoshop (how I handle this now).
I am trying to create a custom ISO for installing linux on dedicated servers, based on a standard ISO. For this, I need to edit a file which contains parameters for partitioning the HD, as I have replaced the supplied HD with a larger one on many machines, and want to modify partition creation, so I do not have to install fdisk and modify the /home partition later.
I have the ISO and can mount it, and edit the necessary file, but I cannot save it back into the ISO.
How should I do this? I've googled widely and found nothing.

For a community service project I volunteered to help out someone with their audio book. The audiobook is about getting your life in balance by looking through the lenses of the ancient Navajo Coyoteway ceremony. All the sales are going to charity and I need to help put it in the proper format on a website. Here are the instructions I've been given: "Rip the cd's into a relatively high compression mp3 format and tag each file. There are between twenty and thirty files on each cd and the idea is that tagging them for an mp3 player will be very helpful for reading the book and listening to the mp3's together.
Each file needs to be tagged in a way that references a specific chapter in the book. The idea of the relatively high compression will enable the smallest possible zip file (containing all three cd's) to be downloaded." I think I understand most of that but I don't really know where to start. They specifically told me to not use iTunes, I don't know why but that is what they told me. There are three CD's, each with about 30 tracks and I need to put each track in mp3 format and tag each file according to the page number of the book.
I need some helping doing some (hopefully) simple HTML editing on my customized Google homepage. Basically, what I'm looking to do is shorten the width of the search bar as shown in the attached screenshot. As far as right-clicking "Inspect Element" on the search bar itself, I'm totally lost as to what to put in the editing window that appears and where/how to do it.
Ok, so I have been a life long pc user who recently bought one of the new unibody mbps. On my old pc I had a large collection of .mp3 files that i moved over to my mac. My problem is that on the pc I could easily edit all of the information by right clicking and going to properties. On my mbp I right click on the file go to get info but it wont let me edit any of the stuff in the "more info" section, like the year recorded, comments, album, or title. Is there anyway to do this? I am really ocd about how my music is organized and like it all to be the same. (seeing unorganized ipods drives me crazy) I know you can do this in itunes but i want to do it on the actual files so it is changed permanently.
i have some animated GIFs that i would like to edit and im looking for software that can do this. for example, one animated GIF i have is a person walking and i want to change the color of their shirt and add boots to him, so i need to edit every frame, then re-compile it as an animated GIF again. i thought i could do this with either Photoshop or Flash, but i cant seem to figure out how. is there another piece of software out there, even if its a cost, to do what i need to do?
Looking for a good photo editing app to do basic editing and what not...Photoshop is just a little to much for what i need, Was curious if there is anything out there is a good track record?
I just bought final cut express about a week ago, and haven't used it yet. There's a youtuber: http://youtube.com/puttherecordon/ Who does insane editing. He uses Sony Vegas. Is it possible to do this kinda thing in Final Cut Express? Also, in Final cut you have to Render everytime you import or change something. It takes me hours trying to edit something. Is there anyway to fix that? Do you have to render with sony vegas?
Ive downloaded a bunch, but couldnt find one that fit my needs.
So on microsoft paint, you have the ability to set specific margins when printing, fit to page, center, etc... as well as change printer, paper type, and ink settings for optimal quality..
however i couldnt find one thus far to use on my mac.. closest ive downloaded has been google's picasa but there are only preset margins and nothing regarding print quality, etc
so i need a program with these capabilities..it doesnt need to be a good photo editor... i just need to open existing photos and be able to adjust print margins/ quality myself
Currently using iMovie or iMovie HD to edit two videos of my friend and I playing classical music. There is no obvious way to edit two videos to an audio track. Do I need to buy Final Cut? I really only need this facility once or twice a year.

Does anyone know if there is any basic photo software available free for mac? Although if there was something decent I wouldn't mind paying a little for it. All I need to do is crop one part of a photo and put it onto another one. Ive heard of something called GIMP but it says I need this thing off the mac osx disk before I can install it, which is at home (I am at uni).
Close to pushing the 'buy now' button on an IMac after using Windows for a looong time, wondering what software I should be looking at to manipulate photos. From what I read iPhoto (Or Picasa for Mac?) will let me organise stuff perfectly fine but is a little basic for editing, Photoshop is WAY too expensive.
Which leaves what other options? I have PaintshopPro (old version, 7) on Windows, AFAICS its not available on Mac, Irfanview(free) which is excellent for basics like resizing (I presume iPhoto handles this?), and DCEnhance which is also free and does some automagic type changes to bring more detail out of shadows or put it back into highlights - any equivalents, either for free or pay?
Looks like Aperture might do the business, is that the 'tool of choice' for people who dont want to pay or have the large learning curve for Photoshop?
I am trying to have a song playing in the background of a movie I am creating. It needs to change volume part way through. Its my understanding this has been removed in imovie 09. How would I go about doing this? Is there any work arounds?
I am planning on converting my old HI8 tapes to DVDs.
I know there are a few options. Can anybody suggest a simple solution?I know there is a software you can install on my Mac. How is it called? Where can I get it?
I found a lot of sites telling me what to do but not HOW to do it. I need to change the artwork and info tags on my podcast page in itunes. How do I do these things if I created my podcast in iweb?
Im looking for an decent image editor for my macbook, preferably free or lost cost. I have already tried gimp, but wasn't that fussed on it n currently have seeshore & livebrush installed. I am looking for an editor that will enable me to create buttons & images with transparency / shapes etc etc. On my windows machine i have [URL] installed & would be hopefully aiming to find something along those lines for my mac...
I just want to find out what text editing software that people use mostly on a OS X. I am looking for a good one, I be mostly programming Cisco routers and switches, and I know one of my workmate use textmate. Beside Mac built in screen any other software for USB-Serial that people can recommend.
I am looking for software advice for editing my web cam videos. I tried using iMovie, but I think that it is too complicated for my needs. I'd like something that would allow me to click and drag images or type text directly onto the video within a few minutes. Not interested in editing lighting or sound.
Is there a free app that is capable of editing MPEG 4? I used handbrake to rip some dvds so I dont have to carry them around, but one is all out of order. iMovie apparently doesnt support .mp4. so is there an app that I can use to put this movie back in order?
I have had a mac for a very long time and i love it, especially Garageband. But recently the ability to edit the effects and sound generator has ceased to work. Can anyone tell me whats wrong?
i have written a pretty cool song..and a friend of mine has a mic, which i can plug into my macbook. My question is , whats the bets software for recording it. and also editing it?
I've recently come into the need to do some basic graphics editing (mostly with computer generated images like logos and text......not photos) and was wondering if GIMP is sufficient to do this kind of stuff? If not, what software (CS5 is out of the acceptable price range) would you guys recommend?
