I am using Apple Mail, and ive just compiled an email containing a lot of text and some photos, Then I saved it as a Draft , when I try to open the Draft I get these messages . All my other drafts open OK , Is there any way to retrieve this email draft ..? Thanks
View 2 Repliesim running leopard and its showing 1 draft that never got sent (that i wrote when i was on tiger). whenever i hit delete on the message, it turns grey but doesnt actually remove itself and i still have the little 1 badge to the right of the draft mailbox on the left. i went into my ~/Library/Mail/email account/Drafts/Mailbox and deleted the message but its still showing in Mail and its driving me insane. Does anyone know how to get this damn thing to disappear? ive repaired permissions but im just lost right now.
If I create an email that is saved as a draft while I'm still writing the email, when it finally sends Mail doesn't delete the email from the drafts folder.
I only use MobileMe in Mail, so I'm not sure if this is a problem with MobileMe or with Mail. It happens periodically on both my MacBook and iMac.
For the last week I find that after sending an email with attachments that it remains in my draft box after sending. The mail shows up in the sent box, but it never get's deleted from the draft box until I resend it. This is happening on both my MBP and iMac. Both machines connect to iCloud for mail.

When I open apple mail it seems to load fine but now my trash icon for apple mail is gone. Is there any way to get this back?
View 5 Replies View RelatedHow do I turn this feature off? If I have a message in the middle of being composed, and click Get Mail, off the draft message goes whether I'm ready to send this or not. This is an old issue, and generally I just try to remember not to check mail when I have a message in progress. But I can't find a screen anywhere in Mail Prefs to turn this feature off. In other words, I only want mail to send messages when I the Send paper airplane icon, not in response to my checking incoming messages. I'm running OS 10.5.8 and Mail v. 3.6 (936).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a strange one here. When I am using my Apple Mail program, It goes out ok, but still appears in my draft box. Not every mail does it , however a lot them do. How do I know they are going out? I am talking to the person I am sending something to, and they said they got it fine. But I look in my drafts box and there it sits. Right now I have 3 in there that I sent today. This is happening with my .mac account. Any ideas before I call Apple Support?

I am using Mail in Tiger on a brand new iMac. The mail service is from .Mac.
I spent quite some time preparing an email.
Then I had to restart Firefox to install an update.
I forgot about the email, probably thinking it would ask me if I wanted it saved.
It's gone.
Is there any way I can recover it?
I have several drafts in my draft box, but cannot get to them. When I select the box, nothing shows up. It says there are 32 in there. This has been going on for a few weeks, so its nothing new, just that I need to get to a couple of those drafts to find info I was going to send to customers.
I've tried rebuilding, but it won't let me select that. I've tried reading the posts, but haven't found anything that matches what is going on with my problem.
I'm using a powerbook g4 with leopard, current on updates. Thanks for any help.
I currently have an issue with Mail 5.2 in which mail I compose and send is placed in the drafts folder and not sent. I have spent hours on the phone with my ISP and have been unable to resolve the issue. ISP has told me all settings are correct. I can receive e-mail on the account I just can't seem to get it to send. Checked my router (Time Capsule) and all ports are fine. I am also running my own mail server on Lion Server. The Lion server account is IMAP and sends/recieves e-mail no problem. My ISP account is POP and uses no authentication.

I recently upgraded to OS X Yosemite. Now in mac mail when I have duplicate drafts I am not able to expand them. In one of my folders I have 2 email drafts, but it says that I have 16.
Before updating to Yosemite I was able to see how many nested copies of each draft, and was able to expand them to select/edit them individually. Now I cannot see which of these drafts have been copied, and expand them.Â

I had approximately 15 draft emails. They were stored on computer, i.e. the setting "Store draft messages on server" was NOT checked. I re-used those messages often in my business. I am on Mail version 5.2 (1257) and Lion 10/7
Suddenly the whole folder disappeared.
None of the draft messages are in my email account on the server - and they are all gone (deleted?) from on the computer. In other words, I currently see none of my long and quite important Drafts anywhere.Is there any other way to find these drafts and bring them back?

OMG. Every word I type in Mail gets autosaved! I have dozens of drafts of the same message saved, one word at a time (or so it feels like).Â

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have OS 10.9.3. The past few days when I start up my computer in the morning, Apple Mail and my Chrome browser open by themselves. I do not have any startup items in my account except for Dropbox. I do not leave any apps open at shutdown. I have quit those apps before I shut down at night. I've looked through some of the support discussions and none of the solutions apply since these apps are not in my startup items and I don't leave them open at shutdown. I can't find a reason for this.Â
View 14 Replies View RelatedI use Apple Mail 8.1. I tried installing SpamSieve 2.9.18 [to protect against a deluge of spam not handled by Apples's Junk Mail system] on my early 2011 17" MacBook Pro running Yosemite 10.10.1 At step creating Rule to move all messages to Spam folder, spinning wheel of death appeared. Had to restart Apple Mail, then unable to open Mail Preferences. Have uninstalled SpamSieve by their directions, yet Mail still won't allow opening of Preferences window. Mail also no longer appears when I click on its icon in the dock, unless I hide all other applications. Plus cannot initiate a new mail message (although it still receives new email). "About Mail" also no longer does anything. I am tempted to reinstall Apple Mail 8.1 (not at all clear how to do that)...

I have recently found the problem that I open the Apple Mail app and nothing is functional. When I try to edit account settings it doesn't let me access those. I want to reinstall mail app or at least update its settings. I read in some blog that yosemite "guesses" and changes your prefered account settings so I wonder if that is the cause after I backed up my emails recently I had loads of messages asking for my passwords, which never happened in Mavericks.

I open mail and it launches since it is showing in the dock and the mail menu is visible. The main mailbox window is missing and most all of the menus are greyed out, even in the window menu where it allows you to select a window to see the main mail window is not showing up.Â
I have manually rebuilt the mailbox database and that did not work. I deleted the "Account.plist" file from the ~/library/mail/MailData/ folder and this seem to work. When I launched mail after I deleted this file the Main mail window was there with all my mailbox folders and emails. The only thing missing was the inbox for my main email account. Mail required that a new email account be created otherwise it would quit, I create the email account and everything was fine, until I quit out of mail. The next time I launched it again i was back to not have the main mail window. The only way to get it to come back is to delete the "Account.plist" file again and created the main email account. The only work around I have at this point is not to quit mail.Â
My Apple Mail keeps quitting when I try to open a email with an attachment. All other mail opens normally. It started recently and with photos from family and now I can't open older emails w/ attachments either. I can go to my gmail account and open there.
I downloaded the latest combo update from Apple's website, but nothing changed.
I have a Macbook Pro. It has OS 10.4 The mail program will open and the circle will start spinning like it is trying to "get mail." it will spin and spin and eventually close. It will pop up and say mail quit unexpectedly will show that report and reopen box. hen mail is open and the circle is spinning, you can send mail and it works fine. See this screen: [URL:...] I have just gotten back to the Mac now from 10-11 months in hell with Windows-stuf, so I am really eager to get this fixed. In Apple Mail the same message looks this: [URL:...] I dont want to change to Entourage, so excellent if you can help me out with this.

I have all my old mail and sent mail downloaded locally in the Mail program.
Is there an easy way to export all of that into gmail? I see I can import mail into gmail from other mail accounts, but here I am talking about importing mail that is now stored locally.
I have two old hotmail accounts that don't really get much mail these days. I don't want to completely abandon these email addresses so I have them use POP3 in my Apple Mail client (along with my other emails addys). Since hotmail is hardly stable with pop3 I get a lot of connection failed messages. I think it's because Apple Mail is hitting Hotmails servers every 5 mins to check for new mail - I don't need that. Is there a way to have certain email accounts be checked at different times than other accounts - like only once a day for my hotmail and once an hour for my gmail?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new Macbook Pro where I have installed FD7 (upgraded). I worked on a 105 page script on Friday, adding a few lines which increased the page count to 106. I saved it. Printed it. And Closed it. Sunday, I re-open the same file only to discover now FD7 has clocked the pages at 108. It appears that on page 10 FD7 'pushed' forward the last four lines onto the next page. Then, throughout the entire script - every so often - it would 'push' more lines into the forward page amounting to an increase in 2 pages. FD7 is glitchy, I know, often times when working in a script where I cut three pages, the total page count didn't change for a while after making the change. I did not mess with the 'tight' feature, nor were there any changes other than shortening one line. I even converted it to a pdf and emailed it to several people... now it's two pages longer, not a good thing. Or has this happened to anyone -- PC or Mac?

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy daughter has just moved out and so now has her own internet and email address. Yesterday she was setting up all her new email addresses. Because she was having problems with setting up one of them, she deleted the old account even though it will still be active for another week or so and then recreated it. Now she cannot access any of her old emails from that account. The message she receives "This message from _____ has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it." There are no emails left on the server and they are not on her online account either. She has some rather important emails in there. Is there anyway she can access them?
