I just put a 25 dollar card on to my account and was then prompted by two security questions while trying to make a purchase. I did not put these on here and on further review I found these were added about a month ago. I need to get the questions off in order to make a purchase for the first time on my new mac. I recently found at the bottom of the Itunes store a drop down box which has a list of all the stores around the world. When I went into Italy for instance it wouldnt allow me to purchase anything from that country. Is their a work around so I can purchase what I like from which ever country I want?

I was wondering if anybody could advise me on how to go about purchasing tracks/videos from the Canadian Itunes store.I have an American account, but there are a few items in the Canadian sotre I would like to purchase. I've tried changing 'stores' but I get the usually message "Your Account is only valid to purchase items from the US store".I have read you can make a Canadian account, but was wondering if the Giftcards purchased in the American stores, can be used to top up Canadian Itunes Account.
How do I delete apps from iPad one? The icons jiggle but there are no x's or lines to click for delete. I read once about resetting to Original condition, which is fine BUT My Passcode ,inside setting Is unknown, locked. I have about 22 failed trials.   I am not talking about the password to log onto my iPad. Â

I use an external hard drive for Time Machine backups and to store some larger video files in a folder called Videos. The Videos folder on the external drive is now locked and I can't unlock it. I go to Get Info, hit the lock icon and enter my password, but the "Locked" checkbox is greyed out in the General section. In the Sharing and Permissions section, instead of displaying my name, it says "Fetching . . ." and I can't change the Privilege from "Write Only".Â

I can't seem to edit any pictures with Preview anymore since I upgraded to Lion. Every time I try to save an image after resizing or whatever, it says the file is locked. If I check the info of the file the "locked" checkmark is unchecked. And I have all the permissions to the file. Tried everything, switched the "lock after 2 weeks" thing of in Time Machine (even though tha would probably not help: images I took today are still "locked" in Preview), tried copying them and then saving them, and tried to lock them and then unlock them, but I can't seem to edit and save them.
View 1 Replies View RelatedGetting a message within photoshop that files cannot be saved as they are locked. I check the same files with 'Get Info' and the locked file box is unchecked. I have changed file permissions on the entire disc so that everyone can read/write but still the same message. Tried terminal command to uncheck flags also to no avail. I can do save as but a little frustrating. Is there a workaround to get all my files back onside?
This is a new disc that I may have installed without due care to permissions/ownership when I formatted it.

I downloaded the trial of iWork '09 and I really like it. It complements Office 2008 really well, better in some ways. Anyway, I want to purchase it from the Apple Store. I can either purchase a serial number that is emailed to me to enter into the trial version or a boxed version that is shipped to me. Which way should I go? I guess if I get the boxed, I have to install the trial and reinstall from the DVD or something? Is getting the serial number just as good?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to purchase The Walking Dead, Season 2, which is currently available as a Season Pass (despite the season being complete, now). I downloaded season 1, no problem, but when I try to download season 2, itunes just gets stuck on 'Purchasing', with the grey striped in motion in the info section at the top of the window.
I clicked the "Buy Season Pass" button, was prompted to enter my password and the info section changed to "Purchasing". The "Downloads" option on the left never appears. It's been three hours. I could've get dvds faster than this (provided that season 2 was available on dvd yet it's not, but it might be by the time itunes finally decides to download it!).

View 4 Replies View RelatedPreviously buying an HD TV show gave you the SD download too, so you could playback on older devices not HD compatible, or perhaps more importantly sync smaller files to iPhones/iPads if you wanted to get more content on sacrificing the resolution. Last few TV shows I've bought only the HD downloads, and no matter how much I fiddle with Prefs and the 'prefer HD when available' checkbox in iTunes Store 'Purchased' I cannot seem to get the SD to download.

I was looking to modify OSX's main menu, y'know, top left, with the apple? I was trying to remove a button.
I had activated the root user account, and successfully modded the menu to add characters to one of the buttons. The file I edited was in here:
/System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/frameworks/HIToolbox.framework/Resources/English.lproj/ (after this I get fuzzy)/SystemMenu/Objects.xml
I don' remember the exact name, nor do I have access to it... as once I had successfully modded the menu the first time, I tried commenting out the menu object altogether in the XML file, and when I rebooted, I couldn't log on!
Whenever I clicked a user and started typing in the password box, no *** password characters were displayed, and the computer would go back a step, and ask me to chose a user again! The keyboard was working, as I was able to go to the Boot manager and choose to boot off a CD. I am reinstalling right now to fix the issue (the computer needs to be used ASAP), but I am curious as to what the problem may have been. It seems like with all the menu mods out there, this modification would not be unusual.
I am locked out of my Macbook. I inadvertently threw a very important file in the trash and shut down the computer. Now I can't get back in. Even when I use the master password it sends me to a dialogue box to create a new password but won't accept anything. If I have to reinstall my system that's ok but is there any way to retrieve my files, photos, etc..
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was trying to install Snow Leopard on my MBA via a remote DVD drive on my PC. The installation took about an hour and I got to the screen that says "Install Successful". It said that the computer needed to be rebooted and I clicked the button at the bottom of the screen that said "Restart".
When I did that, I got the colored pinwheel and it's been sitting like that for the last 20 minutes.
This is my first Mac and I don't know much about them so it figures it would happen to me. What should I do?
I somehow disabled access to the hard drive of my MacBook Pro.... I shut it down and now it's just displaying a grey screen with the Apple logo..

Click Change Store to view this article". If I click to change the Store from the Spanish to the American store, I have to fill the data but my ID apple is not working on the "foreign" store. What can I do? On 6 th April my BT homehub2 updated it's firmware and that's when the problems started. Broadband went down completely and powerlineadapters adapters for bt vision fried. After 2 telephone support calls we eventually got the home hub reset and connected to broadband. Bt supplied two new powerlineadapters and bt vision is now working. Laptop, iPhones and iPad (and bt vision) all connect fine and work completely well.Â
My iMac running OS X 10.7.3, appears to work in that it connects no problem to home hub and when you run diagnostics it says your Internet connection appears to be working normally... However I cannot get a web page to load - I have tried chrome, Firefox and safari. The bizarre thing is using Outlook I can send and receive email, also my apple devices are still syncing via the iCloud - that would suggest that the iMac is indeed connecting wirelessly to the router and sending and receiving data - just no web pages at all - also it can't connect to things like iTunes store or apples app store... Everything was working fine until the firmware update! Â
Also may/may not be related but when I log in now I always have to manually connect to router, it always connects fine but it used to do it automatically, also recently upgraded to Lion and I have my doubts there too?Â
