View 12 Replies View RelatedI wonder how can I install apps only (transfer) if I want to replace my 500Gb HDD with a 128Gb SSD drive? My intention is to take the superdrive out and replace it with my old HDD and then install a 128Gb SSD in the original bay but I only want to run my Apps from that one. All storage will be from my old HDD in the SD bay.

I will be purchasing a MacBook on thursday. Will Snow Leopard be in the box or can I ask for it seeing as it's a day before?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSearched the archives but no luck so far. My old PB G4 is running 10.4.11. When I installed the OS, I chose not to install iPhoto and iMovie because I didn't think I'd need them on this machine. I'd now like to add them, but am not sure how to do it without wiping the hard drive and starting completely from the beginning. There's got to be an easier way...right?

I just recently bought a used MacBook air from someone, its a late 2009 MacBook. It was originally version 10.5.6 but I wanted a clean MacBook (as if i just bought a completely new macbook) so i erased and installed with a CD that apple sent me. But after I installed it it lost all the apps like iphoto, imovie garage band. How I can get those apps (besides buying them)?

I just put a 25 dollar card on to my account and was then prompted by two security questions while trying to make a purchase. I did not put these on here and on further review I found these were added about a month ago. I need to get the questions off in order to make a purchase for the first time on my new mac. Anybody got a solution?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm going to get a SSD for my new 27" iMac, core i7. I know to install OSX on the SSD, and I's also like to install all my apps, including CS5 suite on the SSD as well. Is there any reason why I shouldn't do that?
I'm tired of waiting for the CS5 suite to open.
I want to purchase a soundtrack but it is only available in the UK itunes store and not in the Canada iTunes store. Is there anyway to purchase these tracks or any other distributors selling songs online?
View 24 Replies View RelatedAt one time I think I was able to type in a song name and/or writer/singer and it would come up and allow me to preview it for 60 seconds. I can't figure out how to do that now (I think this may have changed once our MAC was 'updated' by a local MAC professional). I'd like to be able to type in 'After the Gold Rush' by Neil Young, preview it to make sure it's the sone I want, and then Buy it and have it downoaded onto my MAC.Â

I purchased and downloaded Lion, but didn't make a backup copy. OK, I realize I should have copied the file before I installed it, but now what? How do I go about downloading the software without purchasing the same thing again?

I downloaded the trial of iWork '09 and I really like it. It complements Office 2008 really well, better in some ways. Anyway, I want to purchase it from the Apple Store. I can either purchase a serial number that is emailed to me to enter into the trial version or a boxed version that is shipped to me. Which way should I go? I guess if I get the boxed, I have to install the trial and reinstall from the DVD or something? Is getting the serial number just as good?

When I went into Italy for instance it wouldnt allow me to purchase anything from that country. Is their a work around so I can purchase what I like from which ever country I want?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to purchase The Walking Dead, Season 2, which is currently available as a Season Pass (despite the season being complete, now). I downloaded season 1, no problem, but when I try to download season 2, itunes just gets stuck on 'Purchasing', with the grey striped in motion in the info section at the top of the window.
I clicked the "Buy Season Pass" button, was prompted to enter my password and the info section changed to "Purchasing". The "Downloads" option on the left never appears. It's been three hours. I could've get dvds faster than this (provided that season 2 was available on dvd yet it's not, but it might be by the time itunes finally decides to download it!).
I'm running OS 10.6.8, iTunes 10.6.1.

Previously buying an HD TV show gave you the SD download too, so you could playback on older devices not HD compatible, or perhaps more importantly sync smaller files to iPhones/iPads if you wanted to get more content on sacrificing the resolution. Last few TV shows I've bought only the HD downloads, and no matter how much I fiddle with Prefs and the 'prefer HD when available' checkbox in iTunes Store 'Purchased' I cannot seem to get the SD to download.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm convinced that the next version of OSX will allow you to install and run natively all iPhone and iPad apps, with future screens being touch enabled, and those that aren't let you use the mouse instead of your finger when gesturing. I can't wait till I can install and run the facebook app on a MBP, for no reason in particular, just because I can.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI have setup a Mac Mini in my office for several people to use, with me as Admin and others as Standard account. The problem is, when someone wants to install an app, they always get a prompt to input the Admin's username and password. From my research, I was under the impression that Standard users could install apps, but only for their own account, which is what we want. But for some reason, it's not working that way. I did a Google search and following one recommendation, used Disk Utiltiy to repair permissions on the hard drive of both the Admin and Standard User account in question, but with no positive result. I'm a bit reluctant to just give Admin privileges to one person; then others will may ask for the same privileges.
