With the new update of Aperture there is now a black bar at the bottom of the photo when editing in viewer mode with the file name. I really want to get rid of it since it changes the cropping of the photo and I can't see behind it to edit.

I like to use Faces versus Names because I seem to be able to crank through it much quicker.
My flow:
1) I click a project name that has not already had faces assigned
2) I click the faces icon. Then I see the "main" part of the screen with the Faces instructions, and the section under that has the faces that need to be named. So I start naming them. There are 100s in this project.
3) Then I come across a face I only "kind of" recognize. I don't know if they are in the background in a crowd, of the focus of the photo. I need to understand the images composition so I can skip them or figure out their name. I would like to quickly just get a peek at the whole photo.
4) So I switch to the Viewer and it takes me to the first photo in that project. That's no good.
5) When I switch back to Face I also have to scroll to get back to that face.
Is there a better way to quickly see the whole photo without breaking up my workflow?
So I have a DYNEX 21 inch HD TV conected up to my MBP via the VGA connection route. My problem is that when I want a program (or more specifically in this case a game) to go into fullscreen mode it automatically goes to my primary monitor and turns the other screen black. I know I can switch the primary monitor from my actual laptop screen to the TV however I just want the game to be full screen on the TV while still having access to my dock and everything on my laptop.

My mac was being very, very slow so I turned it off, then as it it was booting it was taking ages so i restared in safe mode. While booting in safe mode the black bar at the bottom goes around 2/5 of the way across and then my macbook just switches off.Ive tried:fsckdisk utility repair/verifyreinstalling OS X Lion
When i tried to repair, it said i needed to erase everything and reinstall the OS. Last night when i tried to it said both drives are locked so i couldnt. And now when i just tried again, neither drivers are appearing; the box is just blank.
Let alone my livelyhood on the laptop, i have thousands and thousands pictures which if lost, would genuinley heartbreak me. I have much valuable data on my laptop and i really dont want to erase all data, because me being the gigantic fool that i am, i only have one time machine back up from about a year and a half ago.

Using Aperture I converted my album to b&w after I thought I had copied the colour album. When I tried undo the b&w it would only do it for 10 of the 44 photos, then the option to undo wasn't offered..how do I undo the other 34 pictures from B&W to colour?

My aperture library shows thumbnails of all my photos like normal, but if I try to view a Split View or Viewer view of the image, after a period of time where Aperture says it is "Loading.." in which the image still looks ok, the image snaps and then appears corrupted. It looks like the viewport is looking at random patches of video memory, showing bits and pieces of various graphics from around the system.
This only started happening very recently, but I haven't been using Aperture daily, so I can't say if it was after a recent OS X update or Aperture update.
I'm assuming my masters are just fine, so it's only an annoying bug, but it makes Aperture completely unusable for the time being, other than browsing thumbnails.
My hard drive is full,mostly with photos within Aperture. I have created separate libraries for each year. How do I move one or more of these libraries to an external drive to free up memory on the iMac. I am using Aperture 3

I just bought my macbook pro 13 inch about a 40 days ago and I have just noticed two small black dots on the on the bottom of the screen near the left side of my dock. I have done some research and they seem to be "dead pixels" They're really small but for the price I payed i didnt expect any problems. What are some suggestions to get rid of them or if i should contact tech support? Here are two pictures of the dots: They kinda change colour when i move my head around.. Son's Eagle Project. Set up GroPro to snap a pic every 10 seconds. Now have 3,000+ photos in Aperture, in slideshow with most running at 1/10th second. Added text annotations.
In Aperture - plays perfectly.
Once exported - 75% through the video, screen goes black EXCEPT that the annotations I've made are retained - so occasionally a timestamp or comment appears on an otherwise black screen.
I've tried multiple export formats, no difference. Am now resorting to inserting timestamp slides between pictures to see if somehow there is a corrupted image that is causing the video export to fail.
Have replicated problem after a reboot with nothing of substance other Aperture running.

So here's something that's been on my mind for a while, but never figured it was worth while asking...anybody. But with Snow Leopard coming out tomorrow which feature Expose in the dock now thought i'd ask. I'm sure to some degree this question boils over as your personal productivity preference because i'm wondering what sizes your windows are normally at. For example, say you use Safari or Firefox; is that window taking up the whole screen? If so, why? Ever really think about it? Do you have it full screen cause you wanna surf the web and do your research or procrastinate at the biggest possible size available ...or.... is your Safari/Firefox window not fully screened, simply because you normally have more than just one Firefox or Safari window open, and it makes it easier to navigate multiple windows when they ain't taking up the whole screen?
For example, iTunes for me is possibly the only window I ever fully enjoy being full screen. I love cover flow so have a "space" (3) devoted to iTunes in full screen. In Space 2 (of 6) I have FireFox in full screen but many time throughout the day hate that it's full screen cause I easily need to navigate back to something else, such as the finder or w/e. Anyways, i'm really wondering what others do here, I think it'll be interesting to hear what's up. With SL coming out tomorrow i'm sure Expose in the dock will help big time, but nevertheless.
How can I view my Keynote slides in full screen view with Snow Leopard?

I have my photos stored on extrnal hard drive and want to view them full size to see if sharp and then delete.
I could always do this in windows on the one screen with no problems. On the Mac it is very difficult and time consuming have rung phone support a few times and have not come up with a solution.
The last suggestion was to go thru Bridge shurly I should not have to use othere software to do such a simple thing. I thought a Mac was supposed to be easy and good for photographers but I am finding it very fustrating.

I have a lot of projects, I go to browser filmstrip view -- some projects have thumbnail images as a reference, others just black.
Is there a way to set the thumbnail/poster image for individual projects filmstrips? Or a way to reset the project somehow so that it grabs an image from a project's video and uses that as a reference poster frame?
It's nice having visual cues of a projects content in the browser window and it's driving me crazy that 1/2 of my project's show up as black.

I think this is the correct forum to ask this. I have an HP Photosmart c3150 all-in-one printer that I am trying to get to work with my white g3 laptop (running system 10.4.11). I have downloaded the appropriate drivers and all however the printer won't print any black ink. It prints color fine, and it scans fine, it just won't print with the black ink cartridge. When printing text (all black) it goes through the motions of printing but he page is blank when it comes out. I can print in color, and it prints fine (but with the obvious lack of black tones). I also tried to print using a Canon pixma ip 1500 printer and the exact same thing happened. No black ink. Both printers have black full black ink cartridges.
