I was trying to sum that title up as best as I could. I'm looking for an audio program that will allow me to take one long audio track, separate it by markers (or something), and export/burn to CD (each marker would represent an individual track). The Wavelab program has this feature, but Wavelab is PC based so I can't use it =( Anyone know of anything?

Once I have all the .mp3s on my HD, I'd like to combine them into one CD, divided into tracks. They are generally stories reminiscing about childhood, and I'm going to make some CD jackets that describe each one as X-mas gifts. I know how to make DVDs with chapter markers in iDVD or iMovie, but how should I do this for strictly audio CDs? Garageband, Quicktime Pro, Toast?

I am going to buy a MBP sometime soon and I would like to find a program that keeps track of my TOTAL uptime. Not uptime from last shut-down or restart, the total uptime from first power on until the end. Now as I understand it there is no way for a program to look back at your old usage statistics, but I won't have that problem as I'd install it the minute everything was configured for the first time.
Even if the app just takes all of the restart-to-restart uptimes and adds them together, I'd be happy. I just don't want to do it by hand every day. I'd even settle for a script that takes the last "uptime" terminal command and adds it to a text file every time the machine reboots. I use computers a LOT every day for school and work related things, and I'm curious to find out if a new notebook would increase that number
I want to extract the audio track ONLY off a music/concert DVD. I only want 2 channels (stereo 16/44.1) for now. I have a program (Extract Movie Sountrack) that will convert the compressed 320kbp Handbrake exported mpeg-4 file to AIFF so I can import into iTunes but I want an app that will do it uncompressed.

I was using ConvertXtoDVD but i didn't found any similar program for Mac OS, that burns almost any video to DVD and automatically adds subtitles.
I really don't wanna have to install XP via Boot Camp or VM Fusion.
Any good programs out there for the MAC that will burn regular video files to DVD?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI edited a video in FCP and exported it as a quicktime. The resulting file is a little over an hour, about 13gb in size, and has 14 chapters. The quicktime movie plays perfectly. When I build the DVD in iDVD it works perfectly. However, once it's burned I lose the audio in the middle of the 13th chapter until the end. I've deleted preferences, re-exported the quicktime, created new DVD projects, used an older template (I'm now using a version 7 template).... I'm not sure what's going on!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a MacBook Pro 2GHz Intel Core Duo, running OSX 10.6.4 and the latest iTunes. I used to burn audio CDs just fine and now it gives me error messages.
The first error was a "Medium write error." The second error said, "The attempt to burn a disc failed. The disc can't be burned; it might be incompatible with this disc drive. Please try a different brand of disc or try burning at a slower speed."
I've tried two discs: TDK and Mitsubishi. Both don't work. It starts initializing and then immediately jumps to finishing, then ejects the disc with that message. I updated to the most recent version of iTunes and I still get the same problem.
Can someone tell me the best program to rip audio CD? Also, what extension is best to use if I am critical with sound quality? should i go for FLAC or WAV?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to burn some DVDs. I first burned in Finder and found out the hard way that that makes terrible quality data disc DVDs. Then I tried on iDVD, and at first it said it would only take 3 hours to burn a 1 1/2 hour movie on Professional Quality, so I was happy. But as it was encoding, it jumped to 16+ hours! So I tried again with only high quality, and it still said 8 hours, and now after 10 hours is still encoding. So, I need something else that's faster. I also need something relatively easy to learn/use. It may sound like I know what I'm talking about kind of, but I really don't and I just barely figured iDVD out. I still want it to convert into DVD quality discs (and good quality - I just got a new HDTV and would even like to try burning HD or Blu-ray discs). And I need it to be free.
So, my needs are:

#2 - FREE
#3 - GOOD QUALITY CONVERSIONS
#4 - EASY TO LEARN/USE
Back on 10.3 I used a Rogue Amoeba program called Detour (I think) that allowed you to control which audio devices played audio from which software programs. I used it to send iTunes music through a USB audio device to powered speakers while playing Office apps noises through the built-in speaker. They discontinued it with 10.4 because Apple changed the way audio is handled. Question: Is there some similar app that maybe let's you control volume of each audio-emitting app? So I could turn Office all the way down (all those grating save chimes are killing me) while keeping iTunes all the way up?

I can't tell it's obviously in a lot of shadow. I'm thinking 15", because it seems to be wide enough...but I'm not sure. Looks like it has the SD card slot, so it's the newest model, but I can't see if there's a combined audio in/out or two separate jacks. Any clues I'm missing?
View 11 Replies View RelatedMy Macbook Air (running lion) is consuming a large amount of bandwidth. Yesterday 20GB of data were uplodaded. I don't know which program(s) is doing it.
I'm not doing any of the obvious things that might lead to such usage: I don't use torrents, watch internet movies, etc. Even when I'm doing nothing, or have the browsers closed, I'm uploading between 32 kbs and sometimes 3 mbps. Activity monitor shows total network usage, but it doesn't break it down by program. Is there a way to make activity monitor do that? I've installed little snitch, but no program that it tracks is taking up enough bandwidth to account for the usage I'm seeing.
burning movies on my mac using Burn application.The file is in AVI... however when it converts to mpg...the file then changes into .iso (which should be as a dmg)... and i see the folder containing the video as .Before i used to burn movies onto DVD discs... it would simply convert from AVI into MPG and then that was it...the file completed successfully... but now i get the .VOB extension... and a separate Audio and Video folder

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to to export my Audio from FCPX 10.1.3 as Separate Files (per Roles) from a Multicam clip but it stops and freezes after exporting the first Audio track listed in the export setting. Example:
I have a Multicam clip with 3 Audio Roles (Bob, John and Marc, all assigned to their Audio Roles).When i export Audio as Roles (separate files), i then select all the Roles i want to export: Marc + John + Bob. It will export up to 35% or so and freeze.Then i look in the Finder location of the export to see the audio of Marc only.
If i put John + Marc + Bob, i will see the Audio for John only and so on.If (i have to at this point) i cancel the export, the audio file gets deleted and i get nothing out of FCP. Is there a way to export Audio as Separate Roles file from a Multicam clip or do i need to add all the Audio clip separately from the Multicam on the Timeline?
I'm adding the audio in the Multicam clip so that, if i want to remove a chunk of video from the timeline, The audio attached to it will also be removed and everything stays sync'ed after the cut i made.
I tried Detaching the Audio from the Main Timeline. I then get the Audio but still in a "multi cam" bundle. When i select that and look in the Inspector, i see all the Roles but i can't Export like i want to.

I was wondering whether anyone out there knows how to turn the mac automated speech voices to an audio track that can be used in a video. By the automated speech I mean the ones where you can type in what you want it to say, you can choose a voice, (I think one is called alex), then right click and click start speaking. I want to use this as an audio track in a video.
