When I plugin my new iPhone to my computer to sync it to my music, I don't "see" the iPhone listed anywhere. I have two different apple id's and have tried both, but still can't get the phone to be recognized.

i don't know what i did in Terminal a few weeks ago and now i'm having problems. I firts noticed this when trying to update my ipad and iphone to ios5.1 itunes kept showing the message "connecting to the iphone software actualisation server" but it stayed this way for hours. I think i touched something in Terminal i didn't had to.Can anyone tell me how to reput iTunes in to its default settings using Terminal?

I just found out that there seems to be a bug in iTunes 10.6. After I selected the option of œconvert higher bit rate songs to, album covers mysteriously disappeared. It took me a while to figure this out but I just deselected this option, replaced the albums and presto! Album covers are back again!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have my mobile me email account but I also have 2 business email accounts that are linked to my Mac as well as my iPhone 4s. BUT the iCloud mobile me email is ok but my 2 business emails do not mirror at all. iPhone and Mac are completely separate.Â
I have tried deleting the business emails from my phone then in 'info' in iTunes when the phone is connected I have tried syncing email accounts as well as 'replace mail accounts' in the 'advanced' section.Â
When I do this it loads the messages from the accounts as unread emails. However on my mac each account has 27 emails in each account. When the phone syncs the accounts 1 email has 123 messages and the other 61.
Deleting messages from Mac or iPhone makes no difference in mirroring. Is there any way to get my 2 business accounts to mirror on both devices. As you can understand it is very frustrating having differing messages on both devices.

When I pick up my pop email (thru apple mail) on my iPhone, it doesn't appear in Apple Mail on my desktop. I don't delete it and have to rules or prefs that tell Mail to delete it or remove it from the server.
When I use Thunderbird on my desktop, that doesn't happen. In other words, I open Apple Mail on my phone and read my email. Then later I open Thunderbird on my desktop and the mail is still there. Open Apple Mail on my desktop, the mail is gone.
Just because I read an email on my phone, doesn't mean I don't want it in a folder on my desktop.
When I make an ICal entry on my iphone, it shws on my IPad ok, but not on my Mac.

I have an iMac, Air and iPhone 4S, all up-to-date. I did my iCloud migration a few weeks ago. Everything seemed to work; I especially tested Calendar and verified that an event created on each device would appear on/disappear from the others. However, over the past few days I have realized that iCloud sync of Contacts/AddressBook is only working on the iPhone. Cards that I have created on the iMac and Air do not appear on the phone, but cards that I create on the iPhone do appear on the others. Â
After readng some similar questions here, I checkef SysPrefs on the Air, discovered MobileMe was still the default for AddressBook, changed it (in two places) to iCloud... and now have a complete set of duplicate entries in the Air, but still no sync up to iCloud. (I created new cards to check, and also checked iCloud.com to make sure the data is there. It is, no dupes — but also none of the cards I created on the Air before or after changing the default.)Â

I've been syncing my devices for years, but after I updated to iTunes 10.6 then attempted to sync my iPhone 4, iTunes aborts and does not complete the sync. I tried my iPad as well with exactly the same results. So, I expect that something has begun corrupted in iTunes and I tried to revert to the previous version of iTunes with Time machine, but the Mac reported that I cannot remove iTunes.It could be a library that is corrupt or a cache of some sort, but I can't tell.Â

I have an older iPod that has some playlists on it that are not in my iTune library. I want this same playlist on my iPhone but when I do an 'export' then try to drag and drop into my phone I get a message saying it did not copy because 'it cannot be played on this phone'. I also cannot drag and drop it into iTunes anywhere either. All of these songs are in my library, I just don't want to have to go through and remake this playlist to add to my phone.

All of the methods I am seeing (outside of jailbreaking which I don't wan't to do) are not working. I'm assuming that the version of iTunes I am running has corrected the ways that people were using to get ringers. Anyhow, I have mp3 ringers from my other phone saved on my computer. I've tried importing them, converting them to AAC format to no avail. Is there any value in going down in versions to regain the ringer function. Is that possible? I gotta say, I am extremely underwhelmed by the choice of ringers in iTunes. I feel like I've gone back 10 years. if anyone knows of any other way to get ringers onto the iPhone (without jailbreaking) I'd love to hear them.
