Apr 16, 2012I have macbook pro And my mail has stopped working now. It worked fine a week ago . It doesn't check for new mails , even when I click on get new mail , there is no new mail. I tried to sign out and sign in again but that didn't work . I read few articles on the internet but they all said use the Mac OS X DVD and reinstall but I didn't get any DVD , all I got with my computer was a Manual.

I suddenly remembered that I had all my mails on my iPhone which somehow was synchronized with my MacBook.So, to my question: Is there any way I can transfer my mails on the iPhone over to my Mail.app on my MacBook?I hope you'll be able to answer my question since the mails are quite important.

The problem is that Mail version 5.2 (1257) doesn't show html content or attachments. Even Apple's own templates from the application itself doesn't show correctly.Â
I've made sure that the "show remote html content in the Preferences is checked. Â
I've also tried to rebuild the mailboxes without any changes. Html-content and pictures stil doesn't show. Is there a command for the Terminal that can fix this? MBP 15" 2.2 GHz (10.7.2) 4GB RAM

Jun 26, 2014I am using Apple Mail on my Mid 2010 iMac (27", 3.6 GHz i5, 12 Gig RAM, 10.8.5)Â and have recently run into a bit of strangeness. I shut down the iMac every evening, without shutting down Mail. Mail opens on startup, as expected. However, my list of emails is not current, with the latest email from about 1AM that morning. I know this is the case because I see many more recent emails on my iPhone. When I quit Mail and restart it, all the emails show up. How I can get Mail back to its old behavior, namely showing me all emails in my inbox on startup? Â

Oct 16, 2010I ask for forgiveness since now if I'm posting something that already exists and I couldn't find, but I wasn't able to find any helpful resource to fix my problem.
I've always used Mail and I like it. I have three addresses, one of the provider, the other two belongs to my personal domain. They've always worked fine.
Since two months they suddenly stopped to send e-mails. The error says there's a problem with smtp server. I tried to change smtp settings, I've edited mail settings, tried to set up another account and tried to download another app for mail: always the same problem. My mother, that has a mac too and an e-mail account with our provider, doesn't have any problem. So I tried to copy those settings on my MacBook Pro.. nothing.

Feb 3, 2010I have just done a clean installation of snow leopard on my blackbook. All the apps seem to be running fine but i am getting a lot of aggro with my gmail account on mail and iphone (3.1.2)Before, I had a pop gmail account on mail (I have noticed it's imap as default now), then I bought my iphone and added the same account. Everything was fine: I could read and delete messages on iphone knowing that when I got back home those same mails would appear as new mail on my mac.
Now if i delete a message on my iphone I dont recieve it on my mac... can anybody tell me how can I configure it so it works like it did?

May 8, 2010In an effort to make Mail more gmail-like, I selected the "View>Organize by thread" option. However, this only seems to group messages in my inbox and doesn't include my sent messages within the same conversation.
Is this how threaded messages are supposed to work? Just one side of a conversation? Or is there a setting to get my sent messages to show up in the threaded conversation?
I am using Mac Mail to check my gmail acct via IMAP. I am using the settings specified by google. I have selected the appropriate folders and mapped them using the "Use this folder for..." menu item. My sent messages are both in the Sent folder (for a while, then they disappear) and below in my Gmail>Sent Mail folder (always current). I have the option selected to store them on the server.

Apr 11, 2008I am having a very difficult time setting up my Google apps IMAP e-mail account to work correctly with Apple Mail 3.0, as well as with my Apple iPhone, and I was hoping that somebody could please help me get this figured out once and for all. I have followed all of the Google apps IMAP e-mail setup instructions to properly configure your IMAP e-mail clients, but despite this I am still having problems getting everything working properly. I'm currently using an iPhone with firmware version 1.1.4, and I have manually configured my Gmail account on my phone. I mention this because Google has clearly specified that there are different instructions for handling the proper deletion/archiving of e-mail messages depending on which version of the firmware you are using. My main problem has to do with properly mapping my IMAP labels, with the corresponding Apple Mail 3.0 folders and the folders on my iPhone. I havve searched for the answer to my questions repeatedly on the Internet, but most of the articles and blog posts that I have find that describe the the proper methods of setting things up correctly were either originally posted before the recent Gmail IMAP implementation, or before Gmail version 2.0 became available (or before things changed with version 1.1 .3 of the iPhone firmware). Needless to say, it's been difficult to find a relevant article that applies to the current scenario under which I am trying to set things up.......

Jun 26, 2008Every now and again I get a message from Mail.app saying asking me to enter my gmail password as the login using the saved password failed. I then enter my password ( the same one that is saved ) and it works. However, I've noticed that some of the emails in my gmail account are not downloaded to mail.app, so I have to go to gmail.com to check that I have not missed any emails, which makes mail.app pretty pointless.
Also, I can't use outgoing server, as it never sends my emails. I have never had these gmail problems with Thunderbird before, using the same account settings.

On the iPhone I still receive e-mails and I can send e-mails. The iPhone is connected to the internet either via 3G or the same router I am using for the iMac.
Via the Safari browser I do have access to all my e-mails on the gmail server. Mail: Version 4.5 (1084)

Jun 21, 2012I have been using Gmail for about 7 months, now. I am using it in conjunction with a MacBook Pro (15 inch, mid-2010, i5, 2.53 GHz, running OS 10.7.4 and the current version of Mail) and an iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1.1 with the pre-installed Mail app). I, rarely, use Gmail's web interface and prefer to view and manage my mail using my devices.
I, recently, discovered a Gmail behavior that I wasn't aware of. Whenever I deleted an email from my Inbox on my MacBook, it wouldn't, actually, delete from Gmail. Instead, a copy of the mail would remain in Gmail's "All Mail" folder. It seems that Gmail and I have different ideas about deleting. When I delete, it means that I would, actually, like to get rid of it, not hide it somewhere else. After sorting through the, almost, 3000 emails in the "All Mail" folder and re-deleting everything that I thought I had already deleted (a pain, to be sure), I found the solution to my problem.In Apple Mail, I checked both Trash options in my account preferences then selected Gmail's "Trash" folder and used the "Use This Mailbox For" option to map it to Mail's trash (similarly, I mapped the trash folder on my iPhone to Gmail's trash folder). Now, everything I delete is going to the same place (and actually getting deleted).

To hold down option key while starting and then pick the recovery drive and follow instructions after a few hours it went back to the start of asking for my apple id info again the computer didnt ever show the progress bar moving i exited and atempted to start and just sat at the white apple screen and never moved i then have started the process again... How long should this take before seeing any progess on the progress bar? When computer does restart will it come up he usual log in screen or not?

I dumped Canon because they stopped supporting the Selphy 780 after about 2 years. That said, when I try to add the SHOW, Apple "says" their is no compatible software and to check with the printer manufacturer. So i check with Epson....they say check with APPLE!

Mar 23, 2012I received my new iMac 27" yesterday and as it has Lion pre-installed I ran Software Update to check.It did this OK, but then my second attempt it had an issue with one of the files and wont complete.Since then when I clcik install items it minimises to the doc, but no sign of progress and does nothing (it seems)Â How can I get this to work properly again as it should?Â
