Ok. iMovie will ONLY save in MPEG4. Got it. Why won't the files open in a browser when trying to upload? (Even if the format is accepted) The files stay dim, as in not able to select. I've exported to YT, Vimeo, iCNN, all that is fine. I've saved the files in differernt areas - other than iTunes. iMovie help is absolutely no help at all.
I am unable to open .pdf files in my Safari browser or in my Firefox browser. Firefox crashes completely. Safari just gives me a blank page. I'm unable to click on .pdf files online and view them.
I transferred a file from my iMovie 09 folder and saved on a flash drive to open it up on a different Mac to edit it. However it wouldn't open up.. I tried opening from the stick on the originating computer and it opened, but when I tried on the other Mac, it wouldn't open.
does anyone know of a way (plugin or otherwise) to view pdf files in the camino browser without having to save them or open preview? i know about the pdfbrowser plugin, but that's for PPC only. ideally, i'm looking for something that will mimic safari pdf functionality... that's like the only reason i still sometimes use safari!
So, I have all of my imovie projects backed up on my external harddrive, as well as the imovie program. I accidentally deleted all of the imovie projects and events from the imovie application on my laptop. When I try to re-import the imovie files into imovie, it doesn't recognize the files. I have tried to convert them with iSkySoft Video Converter. That converter program does not recognize the files either. I also tried burning the files onto a disc and then pulling them off the disc with the Handbrake program. This doesn't work either. I also tried importing the files into iMovie HD, which I have on my desktop, but to no avail. Are these files alll useless now? I'm at my wits end because I have spent literally months compiling footage for a documentary.
I have a very old purple iMac, circa 2000, with an old version of iMovie. I copied the files onto a USB and tried to open/import them onto my new Intel Core 2 Duo, 3.06 GHz iMac. However my new iMac with iMovie '09 won't recognise the files when I try to import them. They stay greyed, not allowing me to import them.
My mate gave me a USB with some .mp3 files on it. When I double click the files they do not open in iTunes. What I mean is, iTunes opens but nothing actually plays; they are not added to the Library. I can open them in Quicktime and they play perfectly, but for some reason they will not play through iTunes.
I have windows XP Operating System, and I have safari installed, but when I open the browser, it hangs and displays a blank white page (without finishing opening any websites). I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but this doesn't seem to work. Also, when I reinstall, all of my bookmarks and reading list are in tact. (although I think if it is officially uninstalled, then none of my bookmarks should be saved). Somehow, it seems to be saving the previous state of the last Safari installation whenever I reinstall.Â
When I log into my school's online classroom I can't get any attachments to open.I have tried Safari, Firefox and Opera.I have checked to make sure Java Script is enabled in all.I have checked to make sure my system is up to date. And I have checked all plug-ins and they are up to date. When I click on an attachment, like a file that my professor has uploaded, such as a study guide...nothing will open.It doesn't have an error message or anything. This started two days ago.I haven't done anything out of the ordinary to cause this issue. If I scroll over the link that I want to open, it says Javascript://.It isn't a problem with the website, because other people are able to open these links.

After opening Mac HD folder, made the mistake of attempting to change name next to house icon (Home? perhaps) along left spine (spine that includes 'Desktop' 'Documents' 'Applications' etc.). The computer started to run as if adjusting to the name change. From that point on, iphoto/tunes/aperture starting opening as if it was the first time asking for set-up preferences.
No photos/music can be found in the folders. I can still see my folders on the external hard drive that the tunes/photo are on, but they will not open when I open the programs. Any suggestions on fixing the links? I tried in vain to change the name back. The error message says that the previous name is already taken.
I tried lot of things and i still having the problem, the page doesnt get open, just loading, and if i want to see one youtube video in other page i still cant, the video is black.I can saw all other videos in other format or in other site, but simply i cant open YOUTUBE!

I'm on OS 10.5.8. I just updated safari and java. Now when I open safari, I cannot get a browser window to even open. Not by trying to open a new window or going into my history and opening the Apple page. This is really frustrating since I hate Firefox (Way slower than safari has ever been for me) and now I can't even use Safari.
I am having problems with all of my browsers opening random websites. All was working fine until one day Safari simply refused to open a few random sites. I thought it was a provider glitch, but they said it's not and besides I have no trouble opening those same sites on my iPad and even from my Bootcamp Windows 7 system. I have no idea what is causing it, some sites simply won't open without any explanation. The browser just keeps loading and loading and loading, but no effect. To make matters even more confusing, it even won't load some images in the mail. The system is up to date. The problem is the same in Safari, Chrome, Opera and Firefox with same web pages. Â
I began to have this same problem on my old MacBook within the last year...but I now have a brand spanking new MacBook Air (as in 1 week old) and it's worse than ever. Â
Extremely often - sometimes 2 out of 3 webpages, it seems - the browzer says it can't find the server or otherwise won't open a page (takes veeeery long to do so. Then eventually gives me a "can't find" screen when I try to click around.). There's nothing wrong w the internet - it works just fine on my husband's computer. Sometimes it helps to switch browzers but mostly not.

Not sure if this is a Hotmail thing or a browser thing, but if someone attaches a jpeg to an email I recieve in Hotmail, when I click it in Firefox I get a dialogue box asking: What should Firefox do with this file? Open With [choose...] or Save file?In Safari, it just automatically downloads the picture to the default download location and then auto opens it with Preview. This is so annoying! How do I set my browsers to just open jpegs within the browser?
My 2 1/2 yr. old granddaughter has once again gotten a hold of my keyboard. I have managed to resize the browser window. Trouble is all of the text is so large that in an open window I have to scroll side to side to view the whole page. The text is also slightly blurry.
When I try to open an adobe file online my internet browser shuts down, and displays an error message stating unexpected error adobe cool type plug in. I'm not sure what they are referring to. I have tried to reinstall adobe with no luck.
I just switched to Mac and love it. I am curious, however, about viewing pdf files in firefox instead of opening them in preview. I really liked doing this on windows with Adobe reader, and I am curious if there is a way for Preview to display pdfs in the browser as well?
If not, is adobe reader worth installing? Or is opening Preview as a separate window with the pdf still faster than the adobe reader plugin?
I was able to make a 4-minute movie on iMovie ('06) and burned it to a disc, but the following error message appears (the file is not too large for the disc, which is a DVD+R, 4.7GB).
"The project could not be opened, because the disk is full, the folder is locked, or the folder permission are incorrect. , "If the project is on a CD-ROM, network server, or locked disk, then copy it to your hard drive before opening it.
I have been working on a file for days, and my Mac crashed. How do I open the file from IMovie? I have been backing it up to an external drive and I'm not able to open that one either. I've deleted the preference file, but that didn't help.
I have a problem with my 24" Aluminium iMac (with Snow Leopard)The problem is, when I try to download something, no matter what (an app from the Apple website's download section, a torrent, a song,...) nothing happens I tried it with another browser (FireFox) and it didn't work either...I'm a little afraid that I will have to re-install Snow Leopard and lose all of my files... (Time Machine isn't configured, because I don't have an empty external hard drive...)Downloading attachments (Word files for example) in Mail, however, works fine...So when i click the download icon (of any kind) it just loads for half a second and does nothing, instead of showing the downloadscreen and starting the download
I have been trying to download different files from different sites and regardless of the browser I am using it will start downloading and stop at usually under 1meg and then stall and just keep adding the estimated download time. I have very fast internet connection so that isn't the problem and I can download files from emails etc, just seems to have problems with applications that I try and download from sites.
