When I imported a new album that feature different guest artist singing with primary artist, the CD imports as a different album for each song. How do I prevent this?

I know this has not been possible in earlier versions of iTunes, but I hope Apple has addressed it by now. It makes a great deal of sense. If, for example, one has a song in the album in which it was originally released and also has a copy as part of a Greatest Hits album, we should not have to retain two copies of the song to be able to hear it no matter which album we choose to play. Aperture and iPhoto seem to manage this with images - why not in iTunes? Is it possible to do this yet?

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter purchasing 2 albums, one song on each will repeatably download 5 times and then error with err = -100000. I have reproduced the error on 3 Macs with the same account, iPad and iPhone. Support reset the download and I removed the downloads folder, but the same thing occurs. Macs are Lion and devices are iOS 5.1.1. Music in the Cloud is enabled. All others songs on the albums downloaded fine. I regularly purchase music and have not had problems until recently. Only changes would be Apple Software updates.

I have a problem with SOME of my albums in itunes. Some of them ( aprox 20%) are displaying the sogns within an album in an alphabetical order. I do not have "track" in the column header selected. I have tried selecting "track #"but this does not rectify the track names into the original album order. I can not manually enter the track number either in the "track #" field to manually rectify this as iTunes does not allow you do this. It is really frustrating that I have to listen to some of my albums in alpabetical song name order rather than the order the artist wanted me to. When I go to play a song in iTunes (any song at all, and all the files are definitely there) it just won't play. The play/pause button will change to the pause symbol but nothing else will happen. The ticker-thing at the top which tells you what is playing will say that, that song is on but the timer just stays at 0:00.
Currently running Windows 7 and the latest version of iTunes but this happened before when I was on Vista too. Seems to happen every time I open iTunes now...
I the new iTunes all my songs on each album are in the opposide order of the actual album: so each time i play the album it starts from the last song to the first one...how can i make this stop?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOk, a few months ago, I posted a problem concerning songs from my ipod that, when played in my car through the car's integrated cable, would suddenly stop playing, even though the song's title and counter were still showing on the dashboard screen. This happened with a 3 year old ipod. After taking the car into the dealer, they found no problem. Subsequently, when driving a loaner or rental, the same thing would happen when the ipod was hooked up with a Belkin cable. So, I bought a new ipod. Guess what? It still happened, AND in other cars. So then I bought a new car (not for this reason; it was just time!), and it still happened, BUT...now it's doing it when I have my iphone bluetoothed!! The songs playing are coming from my iphone, which is connected to the car through bluetooth. So, my thoughts are leaning toward something wrong with my songs, in itunes. This happens inconsistently, and not necessarily with the same songs.Â
I've already spoken to 2 different people at Apple, spending hours on the phone.
Select Shuffle Mode. Pause your music, or make sure nothing is playing, then go to Minimize view.
Now hit FFW or REV. What appears in the track info box? Nothing, right? iTunes doesn't show you what song it has shuffled to. It only works if you are playing, not in pause.
Surely this is wrong? Sometimes you want to select song before playing it, right? This works fine on my Ipod. Everyone else have this problem?
i bought a song on itunes the other day and i realized that only the beginning half of the song will play and then it will stop for the other half and no sound will be coming out but it will still be playiny. how do i get a refund or how can i redownload the song on itunes?

I have song compilation albums in itunes. I prefer to seach by Artist, not album. Compilation albums often assign a different artist for each song. I don't like this, as I end up with thousands of artists, each with only one song! Here's an example:
I copy "Classical Chillout" compilation album to itunes. 30 songs show up, each with their own (new) artist name, song name, and all within the album "Classical Chillout.

I purchased a song on itunes but only half the song downloaded. When I go to quick links and select purchase, I see the song as purchased but it wont download. It is behaving like a song you would listen to on itunes. It has the arrow with blue back round still. What can I do to get my song completely downloaded.

This is SO frustrating. I bring in my new iMac for the techs to move my iTunes over, I bring it home and have not been able to listen to one song. I double click on it and it says "Cannot find file, locate?" I say yes, it brings me to the album artwork. I have a decent size music library(40+gig) on my late MB and i find that iTunes is slow to load when I open it and sometimes when im clicking around songs there is a half second pause before the song is highlighted and then starts to play. Since the program is pulling the info off the HD im thinking that if i got a higher capacity 7200 rpm drive that this would help (currently my stock 150gig only has 50gigs left) with this stutter or would upgrading to 4gig ram?

Unlike previous times, however, the Amazon Downloader app didn't load the music into my iTunes library. I tried to manually add the album to my iTunes Library, with no luck. I was able to load the album into my iPhone Music app by dragging and dropping on my iPhone device in iTunes (after turning off iTunes Match).. If I double-click on the songs on my hard drive, they will play in iTunes, but do not import.Â

My Canon 70d took a sample video set 1080p 60 fps (59.97) (ALL-I). I then imported to a project (FCP set up for 1080p) but when bringing the clip into the timeline and selecting it then looking at "info" it states 720. Why is this? And will this still export to full 1080p?

I have downloaded a song and when I go to play it...it bounces off of the song and will not play. I have iTunes 10.6.1......Apple charged me for the song already. I went to Support but could not find a solution specific to my issue. I have downloaded over 2500 songs and this has not happened before. This song was one of nine other songs I downloaded that evening...all others came through successfully.

received the following error:

Whenever I import clips into iMovie HD I get a black rectangle on the left side of the clip that only shows up when I import it, the actual file does not have this (as shown in the attachments).
