ITunes :: Delete A MP3 Song From Download File Without Losing The Song?
Jun 21, 2012
When I download some of my music, it shows up in the User's download file in the Finder, can I delete file in the Finder folder without losing the music file on iTunes?
i bought a song on itunes the other day and i realized that only the beginning half of the song will play and then it will stop for the other half and no sound will be coming out but it will still be playiny. how do i get a refund or how can i redownload the song on itunes?
I am experiencing difficulties downloading a song from the iTunes Marketplace on my MacBook Pro.I recently purchased a new album by Of Monsters and Men and track 4 of the Album 'Slow And Stead' refuses to complete. I keep receiving an error: "There was a problem downloading 'Slow and Stead / My Head Is An Animal / Of Monsters and Men' The file seems to be corrupted. To redownload the file, choose 'Check for Available Downloads' from the Store menu." On the download page of iTunes it reads: zero kb of 10.2 MB - stopped (err = -100000).
I have attempted to download this file numerous times and nothing has worked. Here is what I have done so far:I have contacted iTunes support to report the problem. It has not been several days and no response.I have gone to the Disk Utility and did the Repair Disk Permissions option.I went to UsersUserMusiciTunesiTunes MusicDownloads and deleted and files that were located in this location. Anytime I did a deletion or repair I have restarted my computer.I have run out of options on what I need to do next.
I have song compilation albums in itunes. I prefer to seach by Artist, not album. Compilation albums often assign a different artist for each song. I don't like this, as I end up with thousands of artists, each with only one song! Here's an example:
I copy "Classical Chillout" compilation album to itunes. 30 songs show up, each with their own (new) artist name, song name, and all within the album "Classical Chillout.
Instead of having:
SONG Adagio for Strings
ARTIST Samuel Barber
ALBUM Classical Chillout
I want to batch rename all songs so that the Album name becomes the Artist and each "Artist" name is inserted into the "Song" name
I know you can use iTunes dj to "play song next" or whatever but I don't like iTunes DJ for the fact that you don't have 100% control over what songs are playing if you want to pinpoint certain songs, etc..
Is there any way that I can line up a song to play after the current song without interrupting the current song and immediately playing the song I want next?
When selecting a song to play from iTunes library, I continually get an error message indicating the original file could not be found. Then asks, would you like to locate it?I'm not even able to play the songs I purchased due to this error message.

I purchased a song on itunes but only half the song downloaded. When I go to quick links and select purchase, I see the song as purchased but it wont download. It is behaving like a song you would listen to on itunes. It has the arrow with blue back round still. What can I do to get my song completely downloaded.
This is SO frustrating. I bring in my new iMac for the techs to move my iTunes over, I bring it home and have not been able to listen to one song. I double click on it and it says "Cannot find file, locate?" I say yes, it brings me to the album artwork. I am not at all comfortable yet with the iMac environment so need step by step instructions!
I cannot play a song on itunes by double clicking the song. I can only play a song by fast forwarding or fast backing from the original song played to the next song I want to play. I can then hit play and the song will play. what is my problem other than general ineptitude?
I have a decent size music library(40+gig) on my late MB and i find that iTunes is slow to load when I open it and sometimes when im clicking around songs there is a half second pause before the song is highlighted and then starts to play. Since the program is pulling the info off the HD im thinking that if i got a higher capacity 7200 rpm drive that this would help (currently my stock 150gig only has 50gigs left) with this stutter or would upgrading to 4gig ram?
I bought a CD from iTunes but one song won't download one song. It keeps telling me the file is corrupted and to check if I available downloads. It says I do and so every time I try to download it again it gives this message.
I am in some sort of weird loop and cannot actually delete songs I purchased from the iTunes store.
1. I purchased the song on my iPhone
2. It automatically got downloaded to my iTunes on my Mac
3. I decided I don't want the song - I hit delete - it asks me to confirm if I want to delete from iCloud as well - I say yes - it asks me if I want to move the file to the trash - I say yes - and it temporarily disappears
4. Next time I sync my phone, it shows up again. No way to delete it directly from phone.
What's strange is shouldn't it delete it on my phone since I'm deleting it from iTunes before I sync?
I am scared to buy new songs now as I don't want to be stuck with them forever in case I don't like them..
I just purchased an album from the iTunes store and it downloaded the whole album except one song, which it tells me it can't download because the file is corrupted. It tells me to re-download by pressing "Check Available Downloads", which if done many times and it doesn't work! It just keeps telling me the same thing over and over. I think the error is -100000.
I pre-ordered an album from my iphone 5. Its downloaded and playing on my iphone, but only two songs have downloaded onto my Mac's itunes It says purchased in the itunes store and doesn't give me access to anything like the icloud icons to download the album. I have tried syncing and transferring purchases but nothing works. Its especially weird as I have got two songs of the album!
bought an album but 1 song just can't fully be downloaded and told the file is corrupted. how can i download that 1 last song?all songs in the album is downloaded except that 1 song. what can i do?
I purchased a song on my iPhone (iOS 8.1.1) and then later purchased the rest of the album. When I go then to my MacBook and open the album in iTunes (12.0.1.26) on Yosemite, for some reason at least half of the tracks aren't there. When I went to the iTunes store to try and re-download them to my iTunes, it told me that I'd already purchased them, yet it gave me no option to download anywhere that I could see. Is there an option somewhere within iTunes that I'm missing or is this a lost cause?
'm new to itunes and was reading the online help manual, which says that when I click delete on a song, I should have two options. One is to remove the song from my library and the other is delete the song from my computer permanently. I would like to delte the song from my computer, but the only option is "are you sure you want to remove the song from your itunes library"
I'm using a pc and have left my songs in their original location and have not imported them into itunes folder.
Today I went into my Itunes on my Macbook Air using OSX 10.9.5...Normally I play my songs on my Ipad but thought I would use my Macbook instead. The majoirty of my songs have an "i" besides the song and when I click to play it, I get the following message. "The song “*******” could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it"? I then have the option to locate or cancel. The songs are still playable on my Ipad.
I recently purchased on album on iTunes and two of the songs did not completely download. The track skips the last 20-30 seconds of the song. How do I fix this
Recently the songs I puchase from Itunes store will not download to my computer. I keep getting an error message... something about check my internet connection. I can download purchased songs on my other Apple devices on the same network. So I think there is something wrong with my settings.

My 26,000+ song iTunes Library lives on an external LaCie drive. All the songs play fine in iTunes (and I can hear the drive spin up when I go to play them). However, for a few thousand of the songs, the song's file is not in the physical location where iTunes shows it to be.An example is below these are two song file locations from the 'Master Tune Library.xml' exported from iTunes. Both of these files show in iTunes, and they both play just fine from iTunes (no exclamation mark next to the song names). Yet only the first file (one ending in 1219.mp3)is at that location. The one ending in 1249.mp3 does not show in that location, either via Finder, or via Terminal.
From Terminal I get no results from "find /Volumes/LaCie500 -name espace_20101103_1249.mp3" (without the dbl quotes) But if I run the same command for the 1219 file, it does find it in the expected location.Really stumped as from where iTunes is playing 1249.mp3. [code] iTunes Media folder location is /Volumes/LaCie500/myTunes Both options underneath for "organize" and "copy files when adding to Library" are checked.
I have downloaded a song and when I go to play it...it bounces off of the song and will not play. I have iTunes 10.6.1......Apple charged me for the song already. I went to Support but could not find a solution specific to my issue. I have downloaded over 2500 songs and this has not happened before. This song was one of nine other songs I downloaded that evening...all others came through successfully.
