I keep my large music collection on an external drive connected to an Airport Extreme in my home. I've embedded all my album artwork in the music files, and previously all the album artwork was displaying perfectly in iTunes. After upgrading to iTunes 10.5, however, most of my albums are missing the album art in the album list and Cover Flow. I know that the art is still in the file because it shows up in the "Now Playing" box in the lower left corner of the screen. The only way I have found to get the album art to show up again in the album list and Cover Flow is to go through the following steps: Â Control-click the first track of an album for which the cover art is not displaying correctly. From the context menu that appears, select Get Info.Click on the Artwork tab, then click Cancel.Â
Now the artwork shows up in iTunes in all views. I called Apple Support and asked if there's a faster way to fix the issue with the database. Manually fixing each album for hundreds of albums is no fun. Telling iTunes to Get Album Artwork doesn't work because most of my music was not purchased from iTunes but was ripped from CDs I already own. It's very frustrating because I already spent hours finding and embedding the hi-res album art in my files. I paid extra for Apple products because I expect them to at least avoid corrupting my databases.
I thought my album artwork was disappearing. Turns out the problem is a bit different (and weirder) than I thought it was.Â
When I look at the Album view in iTunes and see all the albums in a tile/grid layout, there are some albums that show no artwork. These just have the default gray cover with the...um...note thingy on it. But when I click on one of these album covers and see the songs, all of them *do* have artwork. When I play these songs, I also see the artwork. It's only at the album level that I don't.Â

I have a problem with SOME of my albums in itunes. Some of them ( aprox 20%) are displaying the sogns within an album in an alphabetical order. I do not have "track" in the column header selected. I have tried selecting "track #"but this does not rectify the track names into the original album order. I can not manually enter the track number either in the "track #" field to manually rectify this as iTunes does not allow you do this. It is really frustrating that I have to listen to some of my albums in alpabetical song name order rather than the order the artist wanted me to. I now want to add 'as Album List' to all the Playlists. From iTunes, select I would normally select View then 'as Album List'.Â

I don't even have that album. There was another album of mine that iTunes applied the wrong artwork to as well, but I can't remember it off-hand. I've been having a strange problem with album art not showing up in Front Row. Inside of the iTunes program I have gone through all the songs to see if they have album art and they do, it shows up in fine in iTunes. However, with certain songs in Front Row they do not show up. I was wondering what the problem would be here. Does the actual song file have to have the art embedded or something like this? Has anyone else had this issue with their album art not always showing up in Front Row?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am opening iPhoto, and when I go to my iCloud folder the albums are their, but there are no photos in the album. My mac mini is all up to date and so in iPhoto. The odd thing is the photo albums are on my iPad and iPhone with all of the photos. I have tried signing out of iCloud and that did nothing.

I did the transition to iPhoto 11 after the update was issued and the only problem I've noticed so far is with Faces. Before, I had a smart album that showed me all the unnamed faces. I know prior to upgrading, I had tagged and removed all the faces, so that album should have been empty. Well, it detects about 20 photos and I went through them all and they had tagged faces. No problem I said, probably a bad Smart Album data.
I deleted the smart album, made a new one and the same issue. In a photo that has 2 people in it, it days the 2 peoples names and then suddenly 7 untagged faces. Again no problem but I don't see where these faces are so I can uncheck them. I even tried removing the tags from the current people and then trying it again (and sometimes, it piles up faces on top of each other) but no go. Anybody else having issues with faces?
Recently I got a 3Gs and loaded it up with my old 3G backup. All the music was gone. No biggie, I just re-added it all. Then I upgraded to 3.1 and i noticed that in my iPod on the iPhone some of my albums were showing up as multiple entries. The difference is, it seems it would make a new album entry for every artist on the album. It's annoying because I used to just have one album but now its like 15 entries and i have to scroll through them all when they should all fall under that same album. WTF 3.1

there's an unknown computer showing up on my shared list.I my get my internet through a wireless router, a BT homehub, and you need a password to get onto the internet.. there are 3 computers in my house connected to that router and they dont even show up under my "shared" list! does this sound like my network is being hacked... and if so how do i protect it (and sorry to say im probably the least technical person when it comes to computers to the simplest explanation would be the best )

All my data is accessible but I am concerned that it may get hidden. When I back up to my external HD it transfers all of my data but again I cant see me as a user. Could be coincidental but my logic board was replaced last week and i think it happened then.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just finished an original rock album, registered it with Gracenote, and it is being sold through itunes and many other places via cdbaby. The album is also available to download via Dropcards to people that buy or receive a download crad from us in person. PROBLEM is, when you download the cd, the tracks are in the proper order as on the album when they are in a folder from Dropcards, then you drag them into itunes and they are in ALPHABETICAL order in the RECENTLY ADDED folder! Under the MUSIC tab, they however are in proper album order. ?? It's good that the cd is properly registered and is in the right order in peoples main MUSIC list, but when I download albums, the easiest way to find the new album is under RECENTLY ADDED, which in my case would have people clicking on the wrong song to start listening to our record (not the intended feel we wanted to start the record with)Â
