View 2 RepliesI have a problem with SOME of my albums in itunes. Some of them ( aprox 20%) are displaying the sogns within an album in an alphabetical order. I do not have "track" in the column header selected. I have tried selecting "track #"but this does not rectify the track names into the original album order. I can not manually enter the track number either in the "track #" field to manually rectify this as iTunes does not allow you do this. It is really frustrating that I have to listen to some of my albums in alpabetical song name order rather than the order the artist wanted me to. See an attached example screenshot for Erykah Badu's Baduizm Album.

I have put four CD's into iTunes but the albums appear out of order in iTunes (ie 2,1,3,4). Is there any way I can re-organise the 4 albums into the correct order - for example by dragging one above the other in iTunes?
The album which appears first in the list (album 2) has been given a slightly different name (not by me!) from the other three!
When I imported a new album that feature different guest artist singing with primary artist, the CD imports as a different album for each song. How do I prevent this?

I know this has not been possible in earlier versions of iTunes, but I hope Apple has addressed it by now. It makes a great deal of sense. If, for example, one has a song in the album in which it was originally released and also has a copy as part of a Greatest Hits album, we should not have to retain two copies of the song to be able to hear it no matter which album we choose to play. Aperture and iPhoto seem to manage this with images - why not in iTunes? Is it possible to do this yet?

After purchasing 2 albums, one song on each will repeatably download 5 times and then error with err = -100000. I have reproduced the error on 3 Macs with the same account, iPad and iPhone. Support reset the download and I removed the downloads folder, but the same thing occurs. Macs are Lion and devices are iOS 5.1.1. Music in the Cloud is enabled. All others songs on the albums downloaded fine. I regularly purchase music and have not had problems until recently. Only changes would be Apple Software updates.

When I download some of my music, it shows up in the User's download file in the Finder, can I delete file in the Finder folder without losing the music file on iTunes?

How do you change song order on a playlist?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSuddenly I'm unable to click on an album and have it play in its entirety; there is a shuffle option but I don't want to shuffle. Why won't it automatically play the next song in order? It seems to play only one song at a time.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhy is it that I have songs sorted in a certain order (tracks 1 to 10 for instance) and on my iphone, they're in reverse from 10 to 1. I double checked playlist on iTunes and re-synced. Same thing. Is there a fix for this?

I pre order two new albums that came out today thinking they would just automatically download on the day of there release. But that didn't happen. So I figured, "heck, I'll just go in and download them buy clicking the "complete my album" and paying the 10.99 it wants me to pay." Well that didn't work. Furthermore, it won't let me "complete my album" on one of the albums all together. It won't let me download either of the albums at all...

I just purchased an album from the iTunes store and it downloaded the whole album except one song, which it tells me it can't download because the file is corrupted. It tells me to re-download by pressing "Check Available Downloads", which if done many times and it doesn't work! It just keeps telling me the same thing over and over. I think the error is -100000.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am experiencing difficulties downloading a song from the iTunes Marketplace on my MacBook Pro. I recently purchased a new album by Of Monsters and Men and track 4 of the Album 'Slow And Stead' refuses to complete. I keep receiving an error: "There was a problem downloading 'Slow and Stead / My Head Is An Animal / Of Monsters and Men' The file seems to be corrupted. To redownload the file, choose 'Check for Available Downloads' from the Store menu." On the download page of iTunes it reads: zero kb of 10.2 MB - stopped (err = -100000).
I have attempted to download this file numerous times and nothing has worked. Here is what I have done so far: I have contacted iTunes support to report the problem. It has not been several days and no response.I have gone to the Disk Utility and did the Repair Disk Permissions option.I went to UsersUserMusiciTunesiTunes MusicDownloads and deleted and files that were located in this location. Anytime I did a deletion or repair I have restarted my computer. I have run out of options on what I need to do next.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased a song on my iPhone (iOS 8.1.1) and then later purchased the rest of the album. When I go then to my MacBook and open the album in iTunes (12.0.1.26) on Yosemite, for some reason at least half of the tracks aren't there. When I went to the iTunes store to try and re-download them to my iTunes, it told me that I'd already purchased them, yet it gave me no option to download anywhere that I could see. Is there an option somewhere within iTunes that I'm missing or is this a lost cause?Â

Downloading songs from cd's. One will go in as one album, shows a single artwork for the set.   Volume 2 loads like separate songs with the same album name AND with the sequence number, i.e., No. 4 of 15, On my iPad it appears as 15 albums with 1 song on them. Volume 1 appears as one album with 15 songs on it. Looks messy on the iPad. . .I have 16 albums with the same name. How to get albums together??

After some test-driving of various audio-player software, I've settled on Cog as the best player for my purposes (simple and lightweight, with minimal memory / resource usage).
Overall, I love the program, and it does exactly what I want it to, with two exceptions - whenever I quit and reopen it, it forgets A) the song order of its current playlist, and B) its place in the playlist when it was closed down. It'll remember which songs were on the playlist, but resets the song order to default, and by so doing also loses its place.
When selecting a song to play from iTunes library, I continually get an error message indicating the original file could not be found. Then asks, would you like to locate it?I'm not even able to play the songs I purchased due to this error message.

playlist burns copies in random order ruining the musics tracking order?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThere's something that's been bugging me for ages, literally years:
I've got a whole lot of music, 45 days worth, and I view it by date added and want to keep it that way for a number of reasons.
Problem is, when I want to play an album I have to click on the first track, then switch to album (or artist) display by the end of that track.
The other day I added an album by dragging it into iTunes in the Finder. I noticed that I could start and stop and advance and rewind tracks and it would go in order, from first to last track, even in Date Added mode, so it was visually moving up and down instead of from top to bottom.
Is there secretly a way to view in Date Added but have the next track be the next track on that album? Besides dragging the tracks into iTunes from the Finder I mean.
If anyone has a way to do this, it would seriously improve my life and I would be infinitely grateful.
I have song compilation albums in itunes. I prefer to seach by Artist, not album. Compilation albums often assign a different artist for each song. I don't like this, as I end up with thousands of artists, each with only one song! Here's an example:
I copy "Classical Chillout" compilation album to itunes. 30 songs show up, each with their own (new) artist name, song name, and all within the album "Classical Chillout.
Instead of having:
SONG Adagio for Strings
ARTIST Samuel Barber
ALBUM Classical Chillout
I want to batch rename all songs so that the Album name becomes the Artist and each "Artist" name is inserted into the "Song" name
SONG Samuel Barber- Adagio for Strings
ARTIST Classical Chillout
ALBUM Classical Chillout
I've tried closing out of iTunes. I've shut down my mac. I cannot get this flippin song downloaded, but the rest of the album downloaded fine.
