I have a macbook and windows 7 desktop. I have iTunes on both, but I download songs on both, so when I sync my iPod shuffle with my macbook's itunes, it might not have songs that my desktop has. Is there a way that I can have it so I can use my home network to sync my itunes list on my desktop and laptop (so if one list doesn't have a song that the other has, it gets it)?

I use iCloud for syning Mail & Notes. Contacts, Calendars and Documents & Data. I am 100% sure that in the past in iTunes/Info tab "Sync contacts" and "Sync Mail Accounts" showed all my different Address Book groups and different email account to be synced. Since recently they seem disappeared and I only see my different Calendars to be synced. Why are both Sync contacts empty and Sync Mail Accounts both emtpy/dimmed. BTW if I check Sync contacts I get a message that they are synced through iCloud etc. etc. Now if I enable on my Mac another email account in Apple Mail it is not added to my iPhone/iPad anymore. How can I change that ?

So here is what I'm trying to do, I've got a 160 gb of music in itunes on my macbook pro, but I need to decrease that number, b/c my I'm running out of hard drive space and my library is only getting larger. I want to have it set up so that I've got my entire library on my external hard drive (1 TB, space is not an issue), and while I'm at home I can access the entire library. However, while I'm out of the house, I'd like to only have about half of my current collection with me on my macbook pro..
I tried to set it up using the 'itunes manage multiple libraries' method, but this didn't transfer any of my ratings or playlists. Then I realized that with having these two libraries completely separate, this will be a re-occurring theme. The playlist and ratings between the two separate libraries in two separate locations, would continue to get more and more askew from each other depending on which library I'm accessing when I import new music, change ratings, or modify playlists...........
I've been syncing my devices for years, but after I updated to iTunes 10.6 then attempted to sync my iPhone 4, iTunes aborts and does not complete the sync. I tried my iPad as well with exactly the same results. So, I expect that something has begun corrupted in iTunes and I tried to revert to the previous version of iTunes with Time machine, but the Mac reported that I cannot remove iTunes.It could be a library that is corrupt or a cache of some sort, but I can't tell.

If I choose to sync my iPhone (4S) with iTunes on the MacBook, will it delete my apps and data (as the warning in iTunes leads me to believe)? I do use iCloud backup on the iPhone, and I've got all kinds of apps installed (and arranged to my liking). What's the best way to have my music sync with the MacBook without having to reinstall my apps?

In Address Book on my IMac, I have set up numerous cards with name address phone numbers email addresses, notes etc. Each card has AT LEAST ONE email address but can have up to THREE email addresses (home,work, other).
I have taken 13 cards and created a GROUP
Two questions:
1. Can I email the address card or copy of the card to an email address for review and updating?
2. Can I send an email to ALL OF THE EMAIL ADDRESS in the GROUP?
I am thinking that to do this (#2) I might have to set up individual address cards for each email address for each group member--yuk. I just want to send to home, office and other by just clicking on JONES or SMITH or better yet the distribution list I have set up.
I'm trying to set up lists to send emails to a group of people without typing in their names individually. How do I set it up.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI run Contacts on both my iPad2 and my iMac; I find that in the listing to the left of the Contacts on the iMac, 'All iCloud' appears twice; one with 519 entries (which is correct) and the other with 78 entries, 77 of them also in the other one. They are synced via iCloud, not iTunes; I've tried to sort this by exporting the vCards to my desktop and then attempting to trash Contacts and reinstall but this is not permitted as it's 'required by OSX', which seems reasonable. It sometimes becomes a problem when I'm using lists and discover that some people are not on the list I am using because - for some inexplicable (to me, at least) reason, they're on the other iCloud list.

Can anyone recommend any software that will help me build and maintain a list of home inventory for insurance purposes? Ideally it will sync to multiple computers and the cloud (automatically) for backup. Enable me to group items into different categories and rooms. And generate itemised documents that can easily be converted into PDFs, Emails or Printed Documents for submitting actual insurance claims (hopefully I'll never need to do it). I found Compartments [URL] that gets mixed reviews. I'm going to test it out later, but before I invest too much time in that I wondered if anyone had any better recommendations.

I have been a long time PC user and am a mobile PC engineer but have only recently got a Mac for training purposes as a lot more of my customers are moving over to Mac's.For the most part I can self learn and get tips from google and these forums but I am stuck on this problem. I am having trouble with moving contact groups from 2004 Entourage to 2008 Entourage, everything else has pulled over fine including individual contacts, messages etc.It just wont pull these groups over, I've tried exporting to an .rge exporting to tab separated values and drag and drop on to memory stick. There is no error but the groups don't appear in the contacts list?

How do I save the contact lists for the different users with a family pack onto my mac. iCloud will no longer support them. Do I lose them all except the primary mobileme account? Is it possible to have more than one contact list like iPhoto and iTunes Libraries?

I was just thinking about the stuff I have on my HD, and I'm not really sure what is eating up the 500gb HD I have installed in it (with only 50gb or so available at the moment). The usual culprits (iTunes and iPhoto library) are both on externals.
And i don't *think* I've got nearly 450gb worth of audio work on here.
So my question is, is there an application that will scan through my system HD and tell me which olders/files are taking up the most space? This may give me some idea of what I should start getting rid of.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have used itunes for years. For the first time I have actually bought a movie from itunes (glengary glenross). I synced my iphone 4 to get the movie on my phone so I could watch it on my phone during slow times at work. However I cannot get the movie to sync? So all my other movies which were ripped with handbrake work fine. I have those under the "movie" catergory and they are fine and sync fine. This purchased movie will not go to my phone. It does show under my "purchased" playlist with all the songs I have bought. However it isn't showing in my iphone under the playlist! I can play the movie fine off of my macbook and even moved it to my movie category with the rest of the movies. I have "include movies from playlists" checked under movies when snycing but it doesn't show on my iphone. I have looked thru and spotlight searched it and no go What am I doing wrong on this itunes purchased movie?
