For some reason, collections/videos that appear in the iTunes U section cannot be sorted by name. Even if you add a sortname to the videos, they can't seem to be sorted. What gives? I've had a few things that came in out of order (it looks like some files were re-released and with about 50 items, it makes it a chore to hunt down the correct file to view.

Just placed an order for an i Phone and am preparing my music collection to move at least some of it over to i Tunes for use with the new phone. I currently have it on an external HD in one main folder (CD Collection) and have been using WMP up to now. Stored under that main folder are sub-folders with album titles containing the individual song files in .wav format. I tried to import the files into the i Tunes library by going to FILE and clicking on ADD FOLDER TO LIBRARY. I then selected all the album folders and hit enter. It imported them all into one folder. I have around 450 albums. This is not what I had in mind. I had hoped the folder and file organization would have been maintained. Instead I have thousands of music files in one "album."
View 21 Replies View RelatedMy daughter has a dance project in school. She wants a song to start at the beginning, stop at 1:05, start again at 2:07 and go to the end. I tried creating a seperate file so I could do starts and stops on both to do this, but the playlist sees it as a duplicate.

Is it possible to move an item from the "More" section of the Contextual Menu up to the main section? In the attached screen shot you can see an item "Snag Path Unix" at the very bottom. I use this function about 100 times a day and it is very inconvenient that I have to go through a submenu for that.
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently downloaded audiobooks are not appearing in the 'BOOKS' category, but in the main music library. I have tried dragging and dropping so that they appear there, but to no avail. Have also changed the info so that it reads 'books' or 'audiobooks' but they will not appear in the Books section of my library which makes finding them tricky. I have previously downloaded titles and they have been recognised as Audiobooks and been properly categorized. (These recent titles have been downloaded from Audiogo. )

I handbrake'd a new music video dvd that I bought yesterday at a concert, and I can rip them fine using the ATV preset. But when i rip them it goes to the movie section in itunes instead of the music folder I told them to go to. Anyway I can get ripped music videos to go into the music section?

I was uploading some video from my camera to iphoto when my computer crashed. I turn it back on and everything I had in itunes Apps, music, movies, etc. is now gone (over 120 movies and 15,000 songs and 300 playlists) the files are still on my computer thankfully but what is the fastest and easiest way to get that stuff back into itunes? Also where are my app files they are not in the "mobile applications" folder in my itunes file folders? I have everything backed up on time machine but this really pisses me off anyone know where I can start?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, my current Apple ID is under an email that I deactivated (it was hacked into). I wanted to create a new ID using my current email. But will I lose everything on my iTunes library if I get a new one? Meaning is my music and apps and whatnot saved to my computer or the application itself versus my Apple ID? I know that if I create a new ID that I can just transfer everything from my iPod to iTunes, but I have a 2G iPod Touch and it's a real pain in the neck when I sync it to iTunes (freezes/gets stuck/really slow). I use the newest version (10.6 I believe? Just downloaded it a couple of days ago) for Mac.

I just noticed that I cant bring up my music/tvshows/movies from my itunes library (from my mac) on my ipad. I checked all the home sharing setting on the mac and on the ipad, restarted everything, to no avail! My apple tv works fine! I recently updated my OS on the iMac to 10.7.4, would this cause the issue? I am running 5.1.1 on the ipad.

I'm trying to sync my iPod to my newly-acquired MacBook Pro. I find that, after following the support page Apple has on it [URL], I can't seem to drag the iTunes music into my iPod (the "Copy iTunes Folder to iPod step). This is on Vista. However, now some of the tracks (not all) are grayed out and inaccessible on my iphone.When trying to play the audiobook it just skips the tracks that are gray and moves on to the next black track.I've tried re-syncing and it doesn't help.

This only ripped the main video, which is what I was expecting, but is it possible to rip the bonus sections as well (either as seperate videos or all in one video with the main one)? I'm going to give Mac the Ripper a go for backing up my dvds because as far as I can tell this will give me a file that will be just like the dvd with the menus and the bonus sections. Is that right? If handbrake can't do what I'm asking, can I add the file Mac the Ripper creates to iTunes or would I need to use Mac the Ripper to create a back up of a dvd and Handbrake to make a copy to use in iTunes?
