I deleted my library list because there were duplicates. I've now deleted the duplicates. So how do I make itunes ask me if I want to add stuff to the library, as when I first started up the program?
View 1 RepliesI just noticed that I cant bring up my music/tvshows/movies from my itunes library (from my mac) on my ipad. I checked all the home sharing setting on the mac and on the ipad, restarted everything, to no avail! My apple tv works fine! I recently updated my OS on the iMac to 10.7.4, would this cause the issue? I am running 5.1.1 on the ipad.

last week I have begun getting problems whenever I attempt to add folders of music to my iTunes library. Until now, I have been able to add large folders of music to iTunes, no problem. Now it seems that no matter what the size of the folder, it goes to the rainbow color wheel as if it is loading, and ultimately freezes without adding anything to iTunes.
I have made sure I have the most recently updated version of iTunes, and that there are no random files within the folder (i.e. .dat's or .m3u's, etc.), just mp3's. But it still continues to freeze and become unresponsive every time.

Moved my MP3s from my PC to my Mac, I have all my MP3s in an MP3s folder, under that folder is each band in their own folder. I am trying to add them to my itunes music library, pointing the preferences to the main MP3s folder but it shows nothing. How do I get it to add my music?

I have all of my music stored in the default location for iTunes and when I play a file outside of iTunes, it will add it to the library database.

The first fourteen episode of a podcast I subscribe to (Sundays Supplement, yay!) are only available via download from the website. I want them to appear in my Podcasts library.
In my iTunes folder there's a path ~/iTunes/iTunes Music/Podcasts/Sundays Supplement
Containing all the subscribed shows.
So, I d/led all the .mp3s to this folder. No joy. Restart iTunes. No joy.
I now want to add my video media library to iTunes so that all my digital media will be in one place, and I can organize and search shows by genre, artist, etc. First, all my videos are .avi, so I figured that since iTunes accepts only .mp4 I have to convert ALL of them which will take SOO LONG. Any easy way of batch converting? Should I even store my videos and tv shows in iTunes, or do people do it differently? (I want to do something other than just putting them in folders)
But my main question is, because I store all these videos on an external drive, I simply want to link them to iTunes and keep them in their original paths, since they won't fit locally. I can accomplish this by simply un-checking the advanced preference option of copying the files to the default location, but that means I have to turn this off and then back on each time I want to import video. I understand this is not a HUGE deal but wanted to see if this was the proper/most efficient way of going about this.
I can't deposit a new midi into my library. I try following the instructions but the song doesn't appear on the main Music library list, and I can't drop in to the Playlist file, where I need to have it as an mp3, so I can make a new CD of this song list.
I just had my iMac mini cleaned up and upgraded to Mac OS X 10.7.4 and things are not working the way they were. Before this, I was able just to drag the midi into the main Music library list, turn it into an mp3, then drag a copy into the Playlist.

I've googled this and it was dicussed a year ago here but I was wondering anybody has figured it out.
I've copied some desktop image folders into library/desktop pictures but when I open System Preferences my new folders cannot be seen.
My iTunes library has apparently filled my entire iMac (according to the computer I have over 97 days' worth of music). I would like to know 1) how to properly save my iTunes library to an external hard drive and 2) how to use iTunes so that it uses the library on the external drive.

What gives? I've had a few things that came in out of order (it looks like some files were re-released and with about 50 items, it makes it a chore to hunt down the correct file to view.

I turn it back on and everything I had in itunes Apps, music, movies, etc. is now gone (over 120 movies and 15,000 songs and 300 playlists) the files are still on my computer thankfully but what is the fastest and easiest way to get that stuff back into itunes? Also where are my app files they are not in the "mobile applications" folder in my itunes file folders? View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, my current Apple ID is under an email that I deactivated (it was hacked into). I wanted to create a new ID using my current email. But will I lose everything on my iTunes library if I get a new one? Meaning is my music and apps and whatnot saved to my computer or the application itself versus my Apple ID? I know that if I create a new ID that I can just transfer everything from my iPod to iTunes, but I have a 2G iPod Touch and it's a real pain in the neck when I sync it to iTunes (freezes/gets stuck/really slow). For some weird reason iTunes starts to add every file twice. And I don't mean that it just keep the original, it actually adds the file two times in the iTunes Music folder.
I just added 300 Beatles Songs but now it added every single song twice...I have 600 songs now. This happened now and then before and its REALLY annoying. Especially when I need to delete every single file manually. The show duplicates just shows both files but I still need to highlight every 2nd file and then delete it.
