i have Vista installed on my dell laptop (gaming) and i cant seem to burning a cd, when i try itunes says "Disc burner of software not found Disc burner of software not found "Disc burner of software not found". I did install Nero burning software so maybe that is the cause of the problem. Is there a way i can work use both without having to uninstall one?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried burning a CD this morning, which I have done many times, and for some reason my laptop is saying that 'disc burner or software not found'.

So, yesterday I went to burn an audio cd in itunes. When I clicked burn I recieve a message that stated "Disc Burner or Software not found." I then went to About this mac in the toolbar and click "Disc Burning" and it states that there is no burning device found. Help would be appreciated, here are my specs
Mac mini C2D 1.6Ghz
2Gb Ram
OSX 10.4.11
I know its there(Combo CD burner/DVD reader drive.)
The other prob is that there is a disc stuck in the drive. I have tried all the various methods to eject the disc to no avail including rebooting and holding Cmd-Opt-O-F then typing eject cd but alas I "have no cd drive"
I can no longer burn CDs - "may be incompatible with this disc burner, try a slower speed, try another make of disc" Tried that, still doesn't work.

I read a few old threads about this that said to check the disc permissions on disk utility and did all that. I read something else that said turn the computer off and turned it off and then on again but it didn't work. This is the first disc I have tried to burn since downloading mavericks. I haven't had any trouble before although I don't burn too many discs. I have an early 2009 iMac.

iTunes doesn't recognize the CD I put in the cd burner, it spins and tries to read it then stops and won't eject it. No error message, and no cd icon to use reject. Command-e and eject button on keyboard don't work. iMac running 10.6.8. iTunes version 10.6.

I just installed a Pioneer Blu-Ray Burner on my MacPro 3,1. I'm using this burner for data backup.  The first two BD-R's worked using the Finder for burning but soon after that the BD-R's stopped verifying successfully. It will burn but then it gives me an error like this: Sector 6756448 is unreadable. Verification failed. 72% Some things I've tried.Â
1. Turning off sleep functions for the hard discs.
2. Lowering the burn speed to 2x.
3. Purchasing Toast 11 Titanium to use for burning.
4. Checked firmware and it is the latest. ver 1.06Â
The other bit of interesting info is that I installed the same drive on a MacPro of similar vintage and had no issues. More later on those specs.Â

I ran disc utlity and it came across a lot of errors. But the one thing in common with all of them is that they all start with "ACL found but not expected on" and then it shows a bunch of applications.

i'm attempting to load win7 onto my MAC. Thus far i have downloaded the .iso image off MSDN (throught my university, for all intents and purposes should be as legitimate as an off the shelf copy)Â and burned it to DVD as a bootable disc image. however for some reason when using Boot Camp im told "The installer disc could not be found".There is data on the disc however when i go into the disc via finder it appears empty (no icons)... even though it is not (get info > xyzMB used).

I have an iMac and am running OS X 10.8.5. I am trying to re-install my HP desk jet software but when I put the disc in, it doesn't pop up on the desktop and I can't find it in Finder. There's nothing in Devices. I've looked at all the settings and cannot understand why it's so difficult to run the disc. In System Preferences > CDs & DVDs, I have tried both all options including open in Finder and "Ask what to do". Nothing happens.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy imac G5 failed to start properly today, just getting grey screen. I tried all the things suggested in the postings and managed to get it to the stage where I could reinstall via Time Machine etc but there was no disc to find on the imac to install the data too. Has my hard drive died? what do I do now?

Updated my late 2007 iMac to 10.6.2 and after that every time I pop in a DVD or CD into the optical drive it spins up and then I get a dialog box that tells me that I have put in an empty disc and the question what I want to do. Can't read them in itunes or DVD player (or any other program). Is it just coincidence that this happened just when I updated. The drive is an OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5630A
View 1 Replies View RelatedI made a backup image file of D2 LOD and im trying to install it again but the installer keeps telling me that i need to insert disc. So my question is, how do i mount this image so that the installer can use it.
Clarification: I lost the original cd so i just have this backed up image, so the image is legit.I just wanted to play this game and i dont wanna have to go buy the disk again.
After having repairing my hard disc with Utilities (having started up from my Install Disc holding C key) and being okay for a day, the thing seemed to crash again. Came home and the machine was off, not just asleep. Tried to start up, heard a single long beep tone, then the regular start-up chord, but it just hung. Then started up off the Install Disc holding D key, did the Appple Hardware Test, Extended, and that just stalled after a while - as it did each time before - and also the Mac was making a not-good-sounding whirring, hum noise. Started again off the Install Disc, this time holding C key, went to Utilities to try a Repair again, but this time the hard disk was not even showing in the Disk Utility!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a dvd in the drive of my imac and it had no idea it was there. it wasn't on my desktop and it wasn't listed under devices. I tried to open the dvd player, and it told me that there was no supported disc. After I ejected and reinserted it, it worked. Was this just a mac brain fart?

While working at a new projekt iMovie stopped working and shows the colored disc for processing. When I try to restart the Mac I get the information that a program named backup-helper prevents the restart. I can't find a program with this name.

I've successfully moved from a Mac Pro (2,1) to a Mac Mini (6,2), running OS 10.9.5 and iTunes 12.0.1.26. There were several glitches during the move, but I finally associated my iTunes folder, now on an external HD, with the application using the option key during launch method. Everything works, iPhones, iPads, iPods all sync properly, all the playlists are there and play all songs, the App Store and iTunes Store function normally using my single Apple ID.Â
Just one problem.Â
When I try to play content from within the iTunes Music [Media] folder, either by double-clicking on a track or by control-click "Open With", I get an error message "The Application Can't be Found".Â
My iTunes Library goes back to iTunes 3 and contains over 350 GB media. This new behavior is worrying, because I don't understand why moving the iTunes Folder should have caused this.

Ive uploaded around 20CD to iTunes and twice now I have opened up a CD in my iMac to listen to it and the first song could not be found. What is going on here? Its not a big deal or anything because these are my CDs so ive just uploaded them again.
What might be going on here?
When rebooting my computer I got this 'library not found' error...I figured my external hard where all my iTunes stuff is kept hadn't come online yet. That's happened before. Nope. Now I can't seem to find the current library file. Also, strangely, these files were in the trash:Â
iTunes Library Extras.itdb
iTunes Library Genius.itdbÂ

Just purchased the new Springsteen CD/DVD. iTunes won't find artwork for it after I ripped it to iTunes (loaded it into optical media player and automatically went to iTunes) I have tried to have it search for artwork etc., but nothing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a large library and just in the past day, many of my songs have become greeted with the following: The song could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it? I have not moved any files to another location since the last successful play and when I locate the file it is still in the original location. I have many different playlists and I cannot just delete my library or I will lose the content of those playlists...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an iPad 2, iPad 3, and a iPhone 4S that I sync with my Mac iTunes. All have the latest software. In the past, a couple of days ago, and for months before, all three devices showed up under Devices in iTunes even though none of them were physically connected to my Mac and were often other places in the house. Then, when I downloaded updated apps I could manually sync each of my devices via iTunes. That was great. Now, all of a sudden (although I did try iCloud backup and then stopped it and reverted to NO iCloud backup), my iPad 3 ONLY shows up in Devices when it is physically connected to my Mac. And when I unhook the cable, it disappears from Devices. I've restarted iTunes and the iPad without any change in behavior. All of the General preferences and Settings are the same for all three devices (the iPad 3 was built by restoring from the iPad 2 backup). It seems I need a "refresh" button somewhere to force iTunes to find my wireless iPad 3. how to force iTunes to recognize a non-cable-connected device (like it did before)?Â
