Installed without problems on a 3 y.o. 15MBP and a new iMac. See no performance issues so far, but I HATE the fact that the FULL SCREEN photo viewing is no longer there! I just hate it, that there is absolutely no way to view pictures full screen. period. (this was THE MOST important feature of iPhoto.) As such, zooming in full screen is NOT available anymore either, instead of floating windows with adjustments, etc., zoom, effects, you get stupid permanent bars that you can't even move anywhere. Also, gone is ability to quick launch a full screen slideshow. You are now asked to select photos for a slideshow first, and then create that slideshow. In Classic you will get an ability to view these full screen, thats the only way. The stupid music that accompanies classic is ... well, stupid. I just wish the Apple store in Bethesda MD had it installed so I could see how horrible it is, before giving them $79 for a Family Pack! My money now goes to Adobe for LR3, a much, much better suite! Forgot to mention, this version is NOT 64 bit, and it does not recognize dual-screen mode either, something that Adobe implemented years ago. Shame on APple for dummifying a simple photo viewer to the iPhone level.

Since I'm experiencing some issues with my current setup (4870+GT120) I'd like to hear if the new cards work on 10.6.5 with at least two displays connected to it, and one of them in portrait mode. Ideally someone with three screens connected to a single card and two of them in portrait (on the DP outputs).
View 2 Replies View RelatedOne simple question, do exist the possibility to connect 2 DVI Monitors, both HD, to a MacBook Pro 15" in order to "extend" the screen? No need to keep the MacBook pro LCD on. What is needed to succeed?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy MBP was updated from 10.5.2 to 10.5.4 (combined update) this morning and, after the installation finished, it rebooted into a blue screen. I restarted it several times and always went into blue screen.
Now, the interesting part is that this is not the "blue screen after install" problem others are experiencing. If I disconnect the external monitor during restart and wait for OS X to start everything works fine. After OS X starts properly I can even reconnect the external monitor and it works fine. In fact I am writing this post from my MBP using the external monitor right now.
Since some document on the Apple Support website was suggesting to remove the file ApplicationEnhancer.bundle in System/Library/SystemConfiguration when experiencing blue screens after the install of 10.5.4, I did look in that folder for that file but it's not there...
I am running illustrator CS4 on my macbook pro, and I have it connected to another screen. I can't figure out how to move the workspace to my second screen. I can drag my artboard window over, but I want all my toolbars and everything over there as well.

I'm trying to watch a video in Firefox on my secondary display, when I try to watch the video in full screen and move back the mouse on my MBP display and click on that display. The video on my secondary display will exit full screen. How do I stop this from happening?

Daily I use my MBP with a cinema display and like to use the 23" screen as my main display (dock, menu bar etc) and the laptop as the secondary screen. This is fine until I want to use the MBP on its own because the desktop icons rearrage themselves.

Has anyone had any experience with splitting the video output of a Macbook Pro to two monitors? I wanted to use something like this:
Any specific things that I need besides the stand, monitors, and vga splitter?
I just hooked up a 2nd monitor to my early '08 Mac Pro and when in OSX the screens start to go blank/blue for about 1 second intervals. They flash together sometimes, and other times sort of independantly to each other. When the desktop comes back on it fades in like its animated rather than like its cutting in and out.
It seems fine when I disconnect one monitor.Running 10.5.2 all updates 8 core 2.8ghz with 10gb ram and 8800GT
I am purchasing an iBook G3 in the next week as a notebook for school. I have a new iMac(intel) at home and I was wondering if I could use my iMac as a second monitor for my iBook and if so, how. I'm not sure what kind of cable to get or if it would work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter several hours my mac is running linked to my LCD screen through MiniDisplay Port - VGA connector, Front Row simply doesn't start. It fades to black for a while but then it immediately fades back to the desktop.
I uninstalled every application might have affected Front Row (Caffeine, LastFm, TV Row) but it was useless. I even tried to fix permissions in the Disk Utility, but it didn't help.
I know this is a pretty elementary question, but this is my first time using a dual monitor setup. What I would like to do is be able to browse on one monitor while watching video files full screen on another monitor. Is this possible? If so what do I need to do to make it so the smaller monitor doesn't go black once I enter full screen on the larger monitor?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone knows of any way to run a dual screen setup on an old style mac mini (the one with only 1 DVI output)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got dual monitors up and running for the first time. With my workflow, I'll be working at one monitor for several hours and then the other for several hours. I'd like to have independent screen savers for each monitor so the one not being used won't get burn in, etc., but I don't see any way to do that.
Perhaps I'm answering my own question here, but I would suppose that if I'm in extended mode (which I'll be doing) it's really just one big screen, so there isn't a way to tell the other screen to start running a screen saver....and if I'm mirroring, they're both doing exactly the same thing. Those pieces of logic tell me that I can't do what I want to do.
I have a Samsung 2033SW hooked up to my mac and whenever I play video full-screen on on screen (either the laptop or the samsung), the other screen blacks out. This happens whether I use VLC, RealPlayer or Quicktime. How do I set it up so that I can play full-screen video on one and still be able to use the other screen for other stuff?
I'm pretty sure it's not because there aren't enough resources because I can still play "fit-to-screen" on one screen and still have access to the other screen.
Long time reader and my first post. Apologies in advance if there's a real basic answer, but I've tried Google and searching this forum too but couldn't find a specific answer. Basically, I'm planning to upgrade to a 30" monitor eventually. I currently have a Samsung 226BW and I use the MiniDisplayPort -> DVI adapter.
I was wondering whether if I purchase the MiniDisplayPort --> Dual-Link DVI adapter ($99), can I still use it to connect to my 22" Samsung? I'm thinking of giving my cousin my current Mini-DisplayPort -> DVI adapter, buying the Dual link adapter and then eventually swapping out the 22" for a 30".
I've had my Dual 2.7 G5 since early 2005. It has been a great computer for me over the years. Noisy as hell, but great. A month ago my screen started to distort every now and then (see pics below). The computer would freeze when the screen distorted. Then when I would reboot, the distortion and artifacting would occur even at the grey boot up screen and lock up. With enough reboots it would finally get back to the desktop and be fine for a few days. This no longer works anymore. I haven't successfully booted the computer in over 2 weeks. After the distorted grey boot screen it will go black and all you see is the artifacts, never getting to the desktop. Is this a dead video card? I'm running the stock AGP Nvidia GeForce 6800 GT. If this is a dead video card, do you have any suggestions for the best AGP replacement. I'm looking for something powerful. All I'm finding are very pricey 256mb cards. I'm willing to pay for a powerful card.

Got my iMac today, working great, but need help on how to hook up a TV to my system. Because my iMac is hooked up to the ACD 24" display, so the extra mini dvi port is occupied by the ACD, so then how do I hook up my 37" LCD TV to the iMac, so I essentially have three monitors hooked up to my iMac.
The ACD plugs into the iMac no problems of course, but my TV will be a different story, it's has two HDMI ports, S video and the 3 rca inputs.
Is there a splitter or something I can buy so I can add the TV to the set up. I've seen photo's here on this forum with 3 even 4 monitors hooked up, but I have no idea how to do it, searched here for a while as well.
Does anyone know exactly what adapters I need to buy to get the TV hooked into my dual monitor system?
I do not know much about this, so if i don't explain clearly, ask and i'll try again.
So basically, i have an iMac 21.5" Late 09 model here and a LOGIK TV next to it that has a channel for 'PC', i was wondering if it was possible to use them as 'dual monitors' for the iMac?
Im looking to setup another monitor for my 07-08 iMac, I have tried searching and googling for an answer but dont seem to have had much luck, so I have got a few questions.
1. Is my iMac even able to support dual monitors?
2. If so how would I go about this?
3. Will just any monitor work or has to be a certain type?
I have a friends Flat panel 17inch iMac (The volleyball one). She only wants to run 9.2.2 on it for her business but it is dual booting 10.2 on there as well, 10.2 will not boot. I've been getting the message you need to reboot your computer by pressing the power button message. What I would like to know is, is it possible to remove 10.2 while keeping 9.2.2 intact, meaning not having to reinstall 9.2.2
