IMac :: Temporary Restart The System - Bug With Iphoto
Dec 8, 2009hi! Today i started having this bug with iphoto. if i close the window in the x it quites the iphoto instead of closing the window. then i use cmd + tab and iphoto is not running. i thought it was some random temporary bug and restarted the system but i'm still having the bug. anyone know how to fix this?

Suddenly, there is a message adobe flash player security has stopped an unsafe operation and something about javascript. something that try to connect internet. it appear many times. there is a option to click ok or setting.

Nov 10, 2010Apple has detailed the security issues patched by Mac OS X 10.6.5 and the corresponding Security Update 2010-007 for Mac OS X 10.5, indicating that more than half of the security vulnerabilities in Mac OS X actually affect the Adobe Flash plugin and X11.
Of the 131 security vulnerabilities identified and patched by the latest Mac OS X update (cataloged by their public Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures or CVE ID), 16 are related to X11, an optional install which enables Mac OS X to run apps designed for the Unix X Window specification. Another five are related to features in Mac OS X Server that are missing in the desktop version.
Nine more affect Apple's own QuickTime, one is related to the Mac OS X kernel, one affected Safari, and another 45 were found in various other code, including some that is proprietary to Apple (such as its AFP file server, CoreGraphics and CoreText) and some that is incorporated by Apple from open source projects into its operating system (including the Apache web server, CUPS printing, OpenLDAP, Python, and PHP).
However, the most security vulnerabilities by far are associated with the Adobe Flash plugin, with a whopping 55 issues listed, the "most serious of which may lead to arbitrary code execution," Apple reports in its Apple Product Security update.

Aug 13, 2010Downloaded latest MS Office 2004 Security Update 11.6.0, and it has poisoned my entire Office suite of apps. Since loading, I cannot access Entourage, Word, or any other Office apps. Error messages pop up repeatedly every time I try to open them. "MS Office library files may have been moved from original location. Reinstall Entourage, etc." For the last 6 years, this software and previous updates have worked flawlessly. This really stinks!!! Do I reload original software over the top of the existing apps., or is there another easier work around that I can use to get back into my MS Office apps.? I am running OS 10.4.11 Tiger with older Power PC processor.

May 10, 2012Update 2012-002 on macbook pro. When rebooting,after 'successful' install, I now see a repeating cycle of Error = 19, unable to mount root. From my *nix perspective I fear the worst - that the boot sector (at a minimum) is hosed. I tried (running Lion 10.7.x) booting with the command key down - no joy. do not currently have my install disk (sadly, it's in storage, somewhere). I'm concerned about this. this is VERY unusual for an update. This is a relatively new drive (750GB drive installed about 8 months ago). At no point have I seen errors, and believe me, I look. Assuming the worst case is repartitioning? (ah for hte days of 'fdisk /mbr')

Jul 14, 2010when I go to a YouTube video, it will just be a big black rectangle (see pics) with no slider or anything, and nothing happens when I mouse over it. This happens to all videos on websites (see the BestSkinsEver, there's supposed to be the Gizmodo iP4 leak where there's just a big white space). I was curious to see if this happens to flash games too, which it does. All the pages were fully loaded when I took a screenshot.

Apr 11, 2010I just downloaded Magnifique 2.1 for my Mac (Macbook, 13-inch, 2 gigs of RAM, Mac OS X 10.5). As soon as I open the application, I get an error message saying this:

The downloadable theme gallery won't show as well. This same message appears if I try to search for any themes and appears every time I type a letter or two into the search bar in the application. Is there any way to fix this? I have tried re-installation but it doesn't work.

Jun 16, 2012So I just picked up one of the new retina macbook pro's as I needed an upgrade badly. It's had no problems until today.Stuff started to get laggy like something was hogging the cpu/ram and then i just turned off and went to the grey "you must restart because of an error screen". I ran an apple hardware test and everything came out fine and I reset the SMC and PRAM. Should I just wait it out and just return it if something else goes wrong?

Nov 28, 2010So ever since about 3-4 months ago, I'll get an error message on my Mac stating that I need to restart my computer. I lose all control and my only option really is to hold the power button down and restart it. I then Googled the issue and found this out. [URL]. No now my question is, do I do a clean install of my OS? Can Can I reinstall and then use time machine to restore my computer? I'm guessing that would give me the same problem as before. Any advice would be great! By the way.. I have a 2010 MacBook Pro i5 so its still really new. This problem happens maybe once every 2 months depending on how hard I'm using it.

OS X :: Tiger Install Failed Need To Restart Error
Aug 20, 2009A friend of mine somehow ruined his iMac's operating system (tiger) and tried to fresh format his hardrive. He told me that every time he would attempt to install, it would say "install failed" and he would have to restart. I couldn't imagine what he was doing wrong, so I attempted to install tiger on his iMac. OSX failed to install with "erase and install" so I ran disk utility and attempted repair with "failure to unmount".
I also tried erase via disk utility using various formating (journaled etc.). How would I be able to install tiger without error? I am not exactly sure why the installer fails, I am assuming it is something on the hard drive that is preventing install. I don't think it's the disk because the installation disk check proceeded and gave no errors.
OS X :: Windows Installation Finished With Error - Cannot Restart Mac
Feb 9, 2010Every time I try to turn on my computer it immediately goes to the grey screen with the different languages that says you have to hold down the power button until it restarts b/c there's some error. Here's the story behind it. I tried to install windows but Bootcamp wouldn't work. It said I had to back up my computer and reinstall the OS as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) (even though it already was!). But I didn't have an external HD that was big enough. I borrowed a friend's external HD and reinstalled from scratch (without putting my old system on yet).
The Windows installation finished, then said there was an error and to restart. It kept saying that and wouldn't restart. Then I tried going back to my Mac OS, and it immediately went to the grey screen with the different languages that says you have to hold down the power button until it restarts b/c there's some error. I even tried reinstalling my old system and it still did this. The disk repair utility said everything on the Mac OS should be fine, though. Eventually I was able to reinstall it clean from the Snow Leopard DVD, but now I can't get my old computer back or windows on it!
OS X :: Error Messages Popping Up - Several Different Languages - Restart Computer
Oct 19, 2009this is my first post here and i hate that it has to be on these terms. however, my mac mini today just out of no where popped up with an error message stating "you must restart your computer...." and so on in several different languages. im not a total noob...so this shouldnt be racking my brain like this. ive read every website and forum relating to this subject, and nothing anyone has to say seems to help. i understand this is a kernel error this message pops up quicker sometimes than others. sometimes it pops up at the blue screen just before my computer prompts me for my password. sometimes, it lets me log into my computer, then the error message will appear. and sometimes it wont even make it to the blue screen, it just gives me a gray screen then the error message. ive tried booting in safe mode and it lets me log in, loads my icons and my desktop, then as soon as i click a single click on the mouse, the message pops back up. ive read some people saying to try reinstalling osx, or to try loading the install disc and repairing some things. i cant get the computer to even seem to boot the disc when i put it in. i am trying to avoid reinstalling osx but if i have to reinstall osx, then i will. i did NOT install anything, upgrade anything, change any system files, change any hardware or anything. i was just downloading a torrent, left my house for a bit, came back and the error message was there. im a graphic designer with work that needs to be done...i can't have a broken computer. does anyone have any clue what to do?
