You could watch TV or use it as a regular Mac.
When you turned it on, there was a choice: TV or Computer.
How can I do this at home?

I was thinking of getting a TV for my home office, but I really don't have a lot of room, so I'd like to look at using my Mac. I don't need to have a recorder, but it could come in handy, especially if I were able to transfer them to my iPhone. I haven't done a lot of research.

Sep 10, 2009I've just bought my first mac and loving it except one major problem. I'm using it as a media centre to play music, photos, movies etc and most importantly to watch catch up tv. Unfortunately I can't watch bbc iplayer, itv or channel four on demand. Each time I load a video it simply stalls at the beginning (except itv which just rotates through adverts). Now, I'm sure you need some info. I've installed the latest version of flash and it seems to be working, I'm using safari and this is a mac os x 10.5.8. I've been trying to fix it for over 3 hours now and I'm losing the lot.

Sep 29, 2009I can watch movies from Netflix on our Mac book. But when I plug the computer into my TVs hdmi port I get sound but no picture. I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard.Before the upgrade, whenever I plugged the mac into the hdmi port the computer's desktop would appear on the TV; now I get nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Mar 25, 2010So i have some videos that's been downloading in portions (ie 15/50mbs slices). I clicked on it and nothing happens nor does any video app can be used to open it. I'm assuming that I have to compress it and make it into one file. I did, and when I clicked on it, it started to decompress back to how it was first downloaded! On a PC you would use winzip but I'm confuse as to how to play these files!
VLC would not play either file.
