I've never had any success in watching videos posted on Apple's web site. All I ever get is a QuickTime icon, controls and what I assume is a loading bar flashing back and forth like Kitt's lightbar from Knight Rider! It will never start playing anything. I'm at work and on a Windows 7 x64 workstation. I've tried Firefox v13, IE9 and Safari v5.1.7 using QuickTime 7.7.1. Here is a screen shot of what I see..

What do I need to connect from my IMAC to my Sony Bravio HDTV? Ideally wirelessly would be ideal. If that is not possible what cables/hardware do I I want to connect for both video & audio.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just bought my first mac and loving it except one major problem. I'm using it as a media centre to play music, photos, movies etc and most importantly to watch catch up tv. Unfortunately I can't watch bbc iplayer, itv or channel four on demand. Each time I load a video it simply stalls at the beginning (except itv which just rotates through adverts). Now, I'm sure you need some info. I've installed the latest version of flash and it seems to be working, I'm using safari and this is a mac os x 10.5.8. I've been trying to fix it for over 3 hours now and I'm losing the lot.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am moving some files from my old PC onto my mac and some of my .AVI videos aren't playing. It says that I need to download a plugin for it to play. It takes me to a webpage with some links. I downloaded the Divx codec and all it did was install a divx player. I am not sure if it installed any plugins for quicktime. I tried updating my QT software and it said I had the most current software. What am I doing wrong? Also, I am having trouble playing some mpg files too. Some are working whereas others are not. All of these files played just fine in my windows media player on my PC and no mac app seems to be working for me. I have a 3 week old MB.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI have a lot of photos and a few videos on iPhoto and Mobile Me. If I send the videos using iPhoto to FaceBook they work fine, but not if I just send out the link (tell a friend), the videos don't play. They get a prompt that says install quicktime, but then it still doesn't work. I did an online chat with support and the person told me to use iMovie and how to do that. So, question one is, is the problem with sending video through iPhoto that the file is not compatible with other computers? Question two is, should I be sending the video through iMovie?

It must be some ad blocker or something, but I can't view videos. I can't seem to find what's causing it. I can go to YouTube and watch a video, but when someone posts a link, I am unable to make it play. I'll get a site with a black rectangle where the video is supposed to be. Happens on links from tweets too. Safari and Firefox both. I tried the Flash uninstall/reinstall/disc permission/restart routine twice.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe HD videos (1920 X 1080, 24 fps, H.264, widescreen) that I have uploaded from my new Canon Powershot Elph 100 HS camera into iphoto library don't play smoothly at all when Quicktime plays them!! These are .MOV files, and I have Quicktime version 10.1. I also just upgraded to Mac OS X 10.7.3 Lion, so I don't know if this is a Lion issue or a Quicktime issue, or some other incompatibility altogether. The videos play, but they are choppy and the frame rate seems slow. No other programs are running in the background so I don't think it's a matter of other programs slowing it down. How can I play the videos so that they play smoothly? Do I need to use a different player (other than Quicktime) to play HD video? Do I need to convert these .MOV files to some other format?

I bought my iMac a few months ago and still can't get to watch what I need to for my business. I breed and own Thoroughbred Race Horses and need to be able to watch races on the web. The people in the store said sure no problem but I still cannot. I have downloaded Flip4Mac which seems to have failed miserably plus Real Player, Quicktime etc.
Can someone do me a favor and tell me if they can watch this video?

I can't seem to watch video of any duration, now. Downloaded tv show and slowed to freeze, stills, with audio going forward. I used to be able to. Watching streaming video is also similar, though have the variable of the wireless to factor in. I have one of the original airs with regular hard drive. I turn off virtually every application, but still doesn't work!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a folder that's full of TV ad files (MPEG, WMV).
I'm sick of watching each individually, and I also didn't like the size that cover flow shoes when going through them by it.
Quick look is good, but sometimes it crashes on my computer (I don't know why).
Is there a solution by Quick time, that can run several videos, one after another? or maybe a way to use automator for that?
I have updated the flash and everything (enable plug-in, unblock popups etc) and still not able to watch a video on yahoo news, for example.

I am planning to build a home theater PC by using the Mac Mini, I am mainly going to be using it on stream video and BT. Will I be restricted to browse any website, to download and open movie/song files, or to watch live stream video?
I'm essentially looking for a an adapter between mini DisplayPort and RCA connectors. I'm using a 13 inch macbook pro to a TC with only the red, white, and yellow (RCA) connectors. Unfortunately I can not find the cable anywhere online.

I have a DrayTek Vigor 2800G wireless router which is connected to my phone line. I would like to use an Airport Express in the living room to connect to my stereo system in order to share my iTunes library from my Macbook. Therefore, is it possible to connect the Airport Express to the DrayTek router over wireless rather than a network cable? Or is a hard connection required?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy husband (who has my old iMac) inserted a CD that a friend gave him into his disk drive. He played the disk in iTunes, but then could not get it to eject. I came over to "help" and after clicking the eject button in ITunes and then holdiing the eject button on the keyboard down for some time, the drive is stuck in kind of a loop trying to eject the CD. Here are the things that we have tried:
restarting the iMac
shutting it down and rebooting after waiting a while
shutting it down and unplugging it. Waiting for a while and then plugging it back in and rebooting
rebooting while holding the eject button down (on keyboard)
resetting the PRAM by holding down option-command-p-r while booting
drutil eject -drive internal in Terminal Mode

I have an emac 700 mhz power pc g4 with 512 mb, running 10.4.11. I cannot watch any video or movies on line. When I play these movies the playback is slow, so the sound is faster than the movies. It looks like I am watching in slow motion. I have everything up to date on this computer.
