Why I can?t see some sites that before I use to see it?
Info:iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.4)
I bought my iMac a few months ago and still can't get to watch what I need to for my business. I breed and own Thoroughbred Race Horses and need to be able to watch races on the web. The people in the store said sure no problem but I still cannot. I have downloaded Flip4Mac which seems to have failed miserably plus Real Player, Quicktime etc.
Can someone do me a favor and tell me if they can watch this video?

I manually put a couple of sites into the top sites area.. but then even after 'pinning' them into the sites area, they disappear when i re open safari.. it's really bugging me. can anyone help me out with this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI cannot browse by name to certain web sites like google, yahoo. I can browse to others. This is true of both Safari and Firefox. I can, however put the ip address I get by doing a ping on the same machine into the browser and go straight there. By virtue of it being both browsers, I have ruled out the application. By virtue of being able to ping, I have ruled out dns name resolution. It's just the browser that can't get there.Â

I can't get into *certain* secure sites. I first noticed the problem a few weeks ago when I couldn't check out at Amazon, the log-in page would not come up. Neither would any page on Amazon that is secure, i.e., requiring the entry of my password. The problem has grown. Most recently I couldn't get into Bank Of America, now I can't get into gmail. The real kick is I couldn't get in HERE!! (But I *can* get into my bank account, I *can* get into Chase and I *can* get into Citi, no problems.) The problem is occurring on both Safari and Firefox, so it's apparently not a browser issue. My ISP is Hughesnet, the satellite ISP. Now, how did I get in here and why do I suspect Hughes? Because I have a back-up dial-up ISP, Juno, and I got in here using Juno and have gotten into all of the other sites I just mentioned using Juno. Only thing is, Juno takes eons. I mean EONS. As I said, I suspect Hughes. But, I thought I'd come here and seek help from you guys, I've received excellent and much appreciated help here in the past. I'm hoping that I'm wrong, that it's not a Hughes problem, and that someone here can suggest a way I can correct w/e is wrong with my settings (if, in fact, it is my settings).Â

I upgraded Safari last night through Software Update.Â
This morning I tried to go to one of my regular sites and OpenDNS blocks me from it.Â
I don't use OpenDNS. I did a couple of years ago when I was having speed issues with Safari. It didn't help so I dropped it. Turned out that was a modem problem that couldn't handle DNS prefetching. So why is it back? Why is it blocking me? And how do I stop it?

Now that I can no longer publish my iWeb sites via Mobile Me, I have tried to use the ftp server that I pay for through a site hosting service for my business (sitemason). Unfortunately, there is some "redirect" that I cannot find and it creates an index that makes the iWeb pages become my "Home" page. I don't need to override my existing website, I only want the iWeb pages to open when the links to them are accessed. Is this a simple issue or should i just pay some service to publish my iWeb content and keep it nested within my old site?

I can't watch videos anymore, on any site (youtube, facebook...). I hear the sound, but the browser (Safari, Firefox, Opera, Chrome) locks in place. I reinstalled Flash Player multiple times. I updated everything there is to update. Still can't watch videos. This happened overnight from March 30 to April 1.

Can I play a dvd on my iMac to watch on my wifi tv? Can built in Airport send dvd to tv? I actually have an external router connected now, and can stream Netflix on my tv, but not everything is offered streaming. Also, we own some dvds that we'd like to watch. My dvd player is broken and I don't want to buy a new one if I don't have to. I also have an old (1st gen) mac mini that's just sitting in a closet- could that be used as a dvd player?

I am trying to work on some school work on my online classes. I can log into the main website, but everytime I try and load one of my class sites it keeps saying There is a problem with your authentication, possibly due to inactivity. For your safety, you have been logged out and must sign in again to continue. When I go back to the main page though, and refresh it I am still logged in and nothing has changed. It does it for all four of my classes and I'm not sure what to do...

They are advertising some new awesome looking games for the ipads in their emails, I do like to relax by playing games such as scrabble or doing crosswords, also I like to download you tube video's that instruct you on craft subjects. About a month ago Netflix started giving me problems while watching instantly. Audio wasn't syncing with video and it would skip and freeze. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Silverlight, but that didn't work. After corresponding via email with micrsoft silverlight support and a complete uninstall and reinstall of silverlight and testing it on other websites, we determined that silverlight is not the issue. I then tried Netflix support, which was terrible and of no help at all. Now Netflix crashes all browser (Safari, Firefox, & Chrome) upon loading. Netflix streaming works fine on all other computers in the house. I have all of the most recent updates of all browsers, I've tried repairing disk permissions and I'm running OS X 10.6.8 with all current software updates. I'm not sure what else to do.

just got a new hard disk with Lion OS and can't watch youtube videos (tried Java Plug-in) but still says vids unavailable,
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I recently moved EVERYTHING from my old Mac desktop to my new one. When I record a video and then click to watch it, the recording screen will go black and the little color wheel will show up and long story short, I havent been able to watch any videos for a few days (for the first couple hours after the stuff on my old imac -> new imac, I could watch videos perfectly fine. Maybe its because I am currently updating iPhoto and its taking a veryyyy long time.) But...with my old iMac, I had about 10 slides of extra photobooth effects. It slowed down photobooth TREMENDOUSLY but I didnt know how to uninstall them.Unfortunately, those same effects have moved over to my new mac and its driving me nuts. I thought that was the culprit and tried uninstalling them. I cant do Library>Compositions>erase because when I do so, theres nothing there to delete!
