Is there any way I can see the external HDD through my mac? I tried creating a shortcut, but since OSX cant read .ink files, it doesnt work.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm thinking of either going for the new 24" LED display or a 32" 1080 television primarily to watch blu-ray movies. The television would be larger but the cinema display would have more utility. From what I've read, the cinema display under bootcamp passes the HDCP test so watching blu-ray movies works. I've noticed that the screen has a 14ms lag though, which seems quiet high when compared to typical lcds, but manufactures calculate this differently. So how is the motion blur on the set? Does anybody here watch blu-ray movies on it? If so how does it compare to a nice television set?

Right now if i want to do that i have to use VLC, Movist and Quicktime all at the same time to do what it is i am trying to do. Wondering if there is an easier way.

I have an emac 700 mhz power pc g4 with 512 mb, running 10.4.11. I cannot watch any video or movies on line. When I play these movies the playback is slow, so the sound is faster than the movies. It looks like I am watching in slow motion. I have everything up to date on this computer.
View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically I can't decided between the 11 inch or 13 inch Air and thats due to the fact of not having any idea if the 11 inch will be capable of handling the tasks that I need. I have a ton of 1080p/720p mkv movies that I always watch on my current early 2006 macbook, that's a must do for my upgrade to an Air. The second part of what I will be doing is having a dump site for my pictures.
I have a T1i and take a ton of photo's nothing professional or anything, but as a poorly touched hobby. I have been considering using iphoto/Aperture since its only 79.99 in the new app store. I am just slightly concerned if the little 11inch can handle simple aperture photo edits, to fix crappily taken photos. The ability to play my movies is the most important issue, the whole picture thing can be sorted out on the Quad core Pc in the office.
I rented movies from I tunes and want to watch them on my HDtv.I have a media player, not appleTV. How can I watch the movies?

My wife loves to watch Thai movies and tv shows online. Unfortunately we have had to settle for watching everything in very small windows, as the "full size" options never work. I assume this is because these websites are set up for windows. We currently need to use Flip4Mac to watch these sites. We are using Safari as our browser. Any one have any idea if we would have better luck with another browser, or another video player? I could just install different browsers and video players and try them out, but I was hoping someone may be able to point us in the right direction so we don't have to install, then try and un-install a bunch of stuff, and I certainly don't want to install windows!
View 6 Replies View RelatedI want to buy a new MacBook Pro. I was wondering how much profit I would get out of bumping my processor speed. I do a lot of movie encoding or however you call it. (How much faster would it go with a new processor?) How fast a processor do I need to be able to watch 1080p movies natively on the screen (or what other specs)? And on a 24" external display? I'm wondering because on my current build I am not able to watch a 720p movie without the movie jamming every five seconds.

I've got a softmodden XBOX (1) with a 500GB HDD wich I mainly use to watch movies on my tv (XBMC). I've got an MacBook and an iPhone wich syncs with the MacBook. Is there any way I can tell my MacBook iTunes library that the mp3's and movies are on a shared map of the XBOX?
What I want is this:
- Watch movies and listen to mp3's on my XBOX with XBMC in the livingroom (already doing that)
- Sync my iPhone with the iTunes on my MacBook with mp3's/movies from the XBOX
- Use an Airport Express in my studyroom with the mp3's on my XBOX
(I'm also planning to use a part of the 500GB XBOX HDD for Time Machine, but that's a different story)
I have an external drive to store all my movies since I have no room on my iMac. I'd also like to watch my movies on other computers and I was wondering if there's a movie player that can be installed on the external drive to watch some movies like (.mkv) and so on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI love AirPlay. I use it on my iPod Touch the moment I get home to play music to my speakers connected via AirPort Express. I use it on my iPad too when i'm watching a movie..
Even on my MBP when listening to music from iTunes. But Movies in iTunes don't work. The AirPlay icon in a movie playing in iTunes only shows "computer" and doesn't show any other options.
I had a bunch of movies that took with my digital camera that were always imported into iPhoto when I transferred my pictures into it. I used to just be able to click on them in iPhoto and the movie would open up and play. Now it seems that my movies are gone and all that I have of my movies is the first frame as a picture and nothing else. Their file extensions used to say .mov but now are .jpg. I've tried changing the extension back to .mov but no movie is there and the file sizes are not what a movie should be.
I'm running Snow Leopard on a 13" Macbook Pro with newest version of iPhoto. I have quicktime X and Quicktime 7 installed.

I am looking to watch live TV on my home office Mac Pro. I am confused in regards to how it all ties together. Here are a few details;
i have verizon fios tv
i dont want to run extra cables from a fios box ( if possible)
i have 2 monitors connected to the Mac Pro
i am not to interested in dvr functionality - just live tv

Last week i stayed at a hotel in Birmingham (UK) and in each of the rooms they had iMacs.
You could watch TV or use it as a regular Mac.
When you turned it on, there was a choice: TV or Computer.
How can I do this at home?
So i have some videos that's been downloading in portions (ie 15/50mbs slices). I clicked on it and nothing happens nor does any video app can be used to open it. I'm assuming that I have to compress it and make it into one file. I did, and when I clicked on it, it started to decompress back to how it was first downloaded! On a PC you would use winzip but I'm confuse as to how to play these files!
VLC would not play either file.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI bought my iMac a few months ago and still can't get to watch what I need to for my business. I breed and own Thoroughbred Race Horses and need to be able to watch races on the web. The people in the store said sure no problem but I still cannot. Can someone do me a favor and tell me if they can watch this video?

I can't seem to watch video of any duration, now. Downloaded tv show and slowed to freeze, stills, with audio going forward. I used to be able to. Watching streaming video is also similar, though have the variable of the wireless to factor in. I have one of the original airs with regular hard drive. I turn off virtually every application, but still doesn't work!

View 8 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to watch a show on hulu on a mac all the way through without the system pinwheeling repeatedly? I just tried to watch the most recent episode of House M.D. on my mpb 13" 2.53 w/ 4 gb ram and could only get about halfway through the show before running into trouble. I've had the same problem watching Quantum Leap. I would like to connect this computer to my television but am afraid it's not worth the money for the cable if this pro mac can't do streaming video. Am I doing something wrong or is it the computer? My $300 acer has no issue..
