View 3 RepliesAfter clicking on 'get mail' the download bar shows activity but no mail is downloaded to the inbox. Checked to see if for some reason mail is being downloaded to another box but not so.I know that mail is being sent because I can receive it on my iphone under same email address.Email was working ok until yesterday when this started happening. Not sure what to check or how to correct.

After being threatened to get hacked, I've decided to clear out all the emails on the mailserver (gmail's online mail client). But before I do, is there a way to download all the emails from my mail server from all time? I only set Leopard's Mail client up on March 8th, so I only have emails from March 8th and after on Leopard. I want to have email from since I registered my Gmail account years ago.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince yesterday the mail programme on my iMac does not download e-mails from the gmail server, but luckily I still can send e-mails. On the iPhone I still receive e-mails and I can send e-mails. The iPhone is connected to the internet either via 3G or the same router I am using for the iMac.
Via the Safari browser I do have access to all my e-mails on the gmail server. Mail: Version 4.5 (1084)

On my iPhone and iPad mail app, which is sourcing from my Gmail, 'read' mail is changed to read mail (from unread) status on across iPad and iPhone mail application platforms. But not for IMac using Lion.

Today I received a message on my iPhone but when I went to reply to it on my iMac the message did not appear even when I searched for it.Â
It also shows in my mail server's Webmail. This is very scary. How many other messages am I missing?

I'm having trouble with my Apple Mail program. I have a number of e-mail accounts (some with Optimum online, a g-mail, yahoo, etc.) Apple Mail has no problem at all reading and downloading any mail from any of the services. My problem is with Optimum Mail (Optonline.net). Mail refuses to send anything through that set-up. I've been on the phone for hours with Optimum and the settings are all correct. I've tried connecting directly to the cable modem and mail gets sent. This would make me believe that it is the Apple Airport Extreme router that is at fault. I've tried restarting it, re-initializing it and setting it up again and the problem continues. All my Optimum mail is picked up and can be read but it will not send anything through Optimum. It asks if I want to send it through another server (like g-mail or yahoo) and if I pick yes the mail sends.
It happens on all my computers a G-3 and pre Intel iMac G-5 on Tiger and my Macbook on Leopard.
Anyone else hear of this problem? Both Apple support and Optimum online say they have never heard of it. Talking for hours with their tech departments have found no solutions.
For the last week I find that after sending an email with attachments that it remains in my draft box after sending. The mail shows up in the sent box, but it never get's deleted from the draft box until I resend it. This is happening on both my MBP and iMac. Both machines connect to iCloud for mail.

I am running Lion (latest ver) on my iMac (2011, i7), and have icloud set up to sync mail (and other stuff) with my iPhone 4. My iCloud account Sent Mail and Drafts are being syncronized between the cloud the iPhone, but not the iMac. So for example, I see 2 items in my Drafts folder when I log into icloud.com, and I see them in the drafts folder on iPhone mail, but they do not appear in the drafts folder for my iCloud account on Mail.app on the iMac. Also, I don't see emails I sent from icloud.com on my Mac's mail. I have iCloud enabled on the mac, and mail syncing is specifically turned on. Â

Why am I unable to download Mail on my iMac?

I've noticed a problem with my mac mail. The number 1 over the mail icon comes up to show I have a new mail, but upon clicking into mail to see it, who it is from and the subject line is there, but it takes 20-30 seconds for the mail to download. This is happening across all email accounts, coming from a mixture of imap and pop accounts. I've also noticed in my activity monitor that my amount of free system memory is very low (dropping to under 50 meg when I have things open). If I install more system memory, do you think this will solve the email problem.

I want to use imap, the only problem is, I haven't deleted any email and i have about 4000 emails in my inbox. So Mail try's to download it all once it's setup.
Is there anyway to get it to only download the last 100 emails or so sort of like how the iphone does?
I had to re-configure my Exchange account today because it suddenly and inexplicably stopped working. When I re-configured, the inbox only seems to be downloading the previous three days of messages. I have searched all the configuration boxes and can't find anything about days of messages to download. I want it to re-downloard everything in the Inbox on the server.

For some reason my mail application I use for my Gmail account is retrieving a discarded mail draft that I created a while ago that just keeps downloading into the "Recovered Messages" folder. It keeps downloading the same piece of mail, and no matter how many times I try to delete them, they continue to be retrieved by the application until my laptop runs out of space. What should I do? I've looked everywhere for any possibilities. All I pretty much have to do is find that mail message and delete it right? The only thing is, where is the application looking to find this piece of mail?

I can't download or view a 6 or 8mb photo on my mac using the mail app. The email account in question is a hotmail account.Â
this email and attachment was able to be downloaded on my iphone but not on the mac. and i did also resend that email from my hotmail account to my same hotmail account but that also didn't allow my to open the resent attachment eitherÂ
I even tried importing to iphoto and I got nothing. Mind you in the past when i tried to email a photo from iphoto that could take almost forever to occur but hey that;s another issue ...

I'd like to stop certain folders being downloaded via IMAP from Gmail. The most important is the Spam folder, as this clogs up my dock with unnecessary email counts. Anyone know how to do this?
View 3 Replies View Relatedcan i do that? i looked around mail preferences and couldn't find anything...
i found the "prompt me to skip messages over ...KB" but i dont think that's what i want.i want to be able to receive the mail but for the mail app to ask me if i want to download the attachment or not!
I have just changed my ISP on my windows 98 machine. Now I am working on the mac and trying to download a message with Mail but it is not working. The computer is connected to the internet ok and I can see the message in my webmail in Safari but it will not download. I have changed my account details in mail preferences but obviously I have missed something. The help file told me to check my network preferences but when I click on that, a dialog box keeps dropping down from the top to tell me "my network settings have been changed by another application" and there is a tab to click "ok". That is all and when I click that, it runs over and over again and doesn't let me do anything else. I don't know what has been altered but I do not want to alter any settings to my broadband connection because that works fine. That is the main trouble I have with a mac.
