My internet provider says it has a good signal. whether i use wifi or connected straight to the modem its the same, some pages load some dont, always different on what loads and doesnt.  If i connect to a neighbour who has the exact same internet speed and provider it works perfectly fine. Ever since i did a software update 3 or 4 days ago it has been happening.

I have full Wifi signal and I'm using multiple device on my Wifi which are all stable except the iMAC. We had a power failure a couple of weeks ago and since then the iMac just won't stay on the network. I have to turn wifi of and then back on to get it to join and that mitt lat 10 minutes.

I have a mid 2010 macbook pro. I recently had to get a new hard drive and the guys at the Apple store went ahead and updates my software to mavericks. I hadmt had any problems for over a month. However, I've started having a problem with connecting wirelessly. Whenever I first open my laptop, it starts to connect to wifi, but comes up with the ! symbol. I know it's not the wifi because all my other devices haven't had a problem and it's been happening on my home and college wifi. At school, I'm able to just turn off airport and turn it back on to get a connection. However, if I do this at home, it initially connects (it shows signal and I'm able to load pages) but drops within a couple minutes. If I turn my router off and on, it connects.

I have two identical iMacs hooked up to a router. Both had no internet connection problems until now. One iMac works fine, the other just stopped. I swapped LAN cables and router ports but the iMac that quit connecting still won't connect.

What I mean by that is that when browsing the internet and then trying to open a new tab, it will not load the page I am trying to open. The Airport icon still shows that it is connected, but no pages are loading. I have tried multiple browsers to no avail. As well as restarting.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI moved my room around yesterday, and originally my iMac was in the far corner of my small bedroom. After the rearrange, now its on the opposite side of the room, and since then the iMacs internet connection has been unstable. It'll drop, randomly slow down to a crawl etc. My MacBook is fine, and so is my PS3, its just my iMac thats causing havok, all because I moved it from one side of the room to the other. I can't be because I've simply moved the iMac from one side of the room to the other can it? My MacBook can pick up a strong signal from the bottom of the garden, so the iMac really has no excuse.

I've tried using Safari, Firefox and Chrome and none of them have worked for me. When I clicked "assist me" it said that my internet seems to be working properly, but when I tried pinging google.com the response was "4 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss". Ethernet is working perfectly however and WiFi is working on my iPhone and on my roommate's computer. WiFi is working perfectly at the library as well, so I'm not sure if it's a problem with my computer or with the network.

I have googled this issue and see that it is relatively common and it is incredibly frustrating. It is fairly simple to reconnect each time but it is driving me mad having to. I'm trying to share the internet connection on my windows vista partition. Until now it has been fine, but all of a sudden, yesterday, it stopped working. iPhone and mac both show self assigned IPs. I tried resetting and setting up a new ad hoc network and checked settings to make sure internet sharing was enabled, but still the mac and iPhone are not given their own IPs.

I use a 4G Galaxy Nexus to broadcast a private WPA2 network. The 4G signal is always strong, and I've verified that the internet is active on the broadcasting device, and that other non-Apple devices maintain a solid connection. However my macbook pro does not lose the network connection, the internet stops working only on the macbook pro and I must "turn Wifi Off" and back on using the top right menu icon in order for the internet connection to resume working on the laptop. It will stop working every 5-10 minutes.

I shut my macbook pro down the other day and when I turned it on the next day, I couldn't get on Safari. It would constantly say that it couldn't find an internet connection. I tried to check to see if I could do an update, and same problem. Here is the kicker. Mail, iChat, and Firefox all work fine. The only applications affected that I can find so far are iTunes, Safari, and Automatic Update.

For about a week or so now, my Safari has been loading webpages incredibly slowly. It will often display the message 'server cannot be found/reached'. I have absolutely no idea what's causing this. I know it's not my actual connection, because I can play World of Warcraft with an average latency of 60ms, and direct download large files at a speed I expect.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo, I just did the update last night, and I think after that my internet stopped working. It was late, so I just went to sleep. This morning, I wake up and open Firefox. Internet not working. Even though I know it won't work, I open my remote desktop connection and try to log on to my work computer using the WiFi in my apartment. Well, for some reason that worked. I am typing this message right now through a remote connection, but using the same WiFi that firefox and safari tell me that is no internet connections when I try to open it up from my computer.
To make it even weirder, I opened quicken on my computer here and tried to download transactions, and not only did it download them, but it took me to the actual bank site and I could navigate all over it. But when I tried to go to a different website, it did the exact same thing and stalled out again. How can I use this internet connection to log on remotely and use the internet remotely, but on local programs, it tells me I have no internet connection?
I get a signal from a tech school just down the street and i get the signal from my airport. but it is incredibly weak. i cant even watch videos anymore because every 2 seconds it attempts to buffer the rest of the video.
if any of you have any suggestions on how to tweak my computer to make the internet run smoother, feel free to post.

I am running an imac 24-inch Mid 2007 on 10.7.3. Always do the updates and everything seems ok. I have been having problems with connecting, reconnecting after sleep and just losing my connection in the middle of being on wifi. I have replaced my wireless router, I have deleted all previous wifi networks. I have also renewed my dhcp license. Nothing works. To reconnect, I have to continuously go to network preferences, assist me, diagnostics, then continue with the assist me and choose my network and it then reconnects. This is not just waking from sleep. Sometimes just randomly while working on the computer. I have read some things about equipment plugged in and I have an ATT micro cell plugged into 1 ethernet jack in my wireless router/modem, I also have a bluetooth mouse, a printer plugged in USB and a Lacie HD using Time machine.

My iMac keeps dropping internet connection. This has only been a problem since installing Lion, it often tells me there is no connection when my iPhone and MacAir work perfectly so i know its not the broadband itself. I also get the message that my network configuration has changed.

I have an iMac (without an Airport Base). It is connected to a Sky router through an Ethernet cable but still with wireless capabilities. The internet connection keeps dropping out at regular intervals throughout the day to the point that my partner may just throw it out the window! The router lights still show it is connected as does the wifi signal at the top of the screen. Our iPhones still work even when the Mac drops off.
