I am running 10.4.11 on my G5 iMac & 10.6.8 on my 2010 MacBook Pro. I am using the Apple Mail application on both machines for my [url].. address.I migrated to iCloud (Mail Only Option) on thursday 6/28 and changed my mail server settings in Tiger on my G5 iMac according to Roger Wilmut's instructions today 7/1. I have yet to do this on my MacBook Pro running 10.6.8.
Now in Tiger when I try to send an email I am getting a certificate error:
Unable to verify SSL server [url]...
Mail was unable to verify the identity of this server which has a certificate issued to "*.mail.me.com". The error was:
The root certificate for this server could not be verified.
You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "smtp.mail.me.com", and putting you confidential information at risk.I clicked Show Certificate and the certificate has a blue border, [url].., issued by Entrust Certification Authority-L1C, Expires Wed. July 3, 2013.I pressed Option & dragged the cert. icon to the desktop, double clicked the icon on the desktop. It asked if I wanted to add the certificate from the file [url]... to a keychain. I chose X.509 Anchors from the dropdown menu & clicked OK to permanently accept the certificate to Keychains.

I try to put my mobile.me password, but that does not seem to work. I am fairly new to Mac OS and cant seem to figure out what is going on.

how do I retrieve a lost icloud password?
Info:

Went to "Manage Apple ID" and changed e-mail and password last night. Received confirming e-mails and sent back verification. Today when I started up my Mac and iPhone, got messages telling me I'm not connected to iCloud, messaging is "offline", in short, neither the new or old e-mails or passwords are being recognized. Yet, "Manage Apple ID" will let me logon with new info.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have lately gotten notifications that my i-cloud account have been used logging in on a browser. Since I could not truly verify that this was me doing so I did check for updating my password. Two things happened.
1) The e-mail returned to me from i-cloud to reset was empty ? (Is there currently a system problem?
2) I then tried to go through security questions process - but i-cloud tells me my birthdate and year is invalid.
This whole issue makes me insecure about the integrity of my i-cloud account or whether there are system problems creating this at this time?

I changed my Apple ID and iCloud ID today. But when I use iCal on my May 2011 iMac running Lion, the iCloud calendar shows up in iCal; however, I keep getting an error message asking for a password for the previous iCloud ID. I have removed the iCloud calendar from iCal twice and reinstalled it with the current ID and password. Everything works; but I still get the dialogue box asking for the passwork for the previous ID. It requires me to cancel it several times before it final disappears. How do I remove the previous ID so I won't get the error message?Â

I cannot see iTunes Match in iTunes screen ?
Info:MacBook Air
When I first setup my OSX laptop, my filevault and user login password were the same. At bootup, I only had to login once (with my username and password).I recently changed my OSX password but my filevault / disk encryption password was not changed. Now I have to login twice when I boot up (first with my old pass, then with the new one).Is there any way to change the disk encryption password so I can be in sync with my login password?I tried Disk Util > File > Change Password, but it is greyed out.

I have had a number issues with my iTunes setup on my new Mac Mini so thought I would start again. I deleted my iTunes folders and then intended to set up again, downloading the 10,000 tracks that were previously on Match. When I log in to my account and update Match, there isn't any content. how I can retrieve it, or has deleting the folders on my local drive somehow wiped my Match account?
