Having trouble with sharing photos via email on my desktop Imac. Error Message when I try to send: "The email server didn't recognize your username/password combination. Normal email inbox/outbox works fine, error message only comes up when using "Sharing photos".
I choose a photo, select Share, select Email, enter an email address to send to and click Send - then I get this error: "The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination."
In iPhoto preferences I have "Email photos using" set to "iPhoto"; I have an account added for Gmail (outgoing mail server: smtp.gmail.com; Port: 587; User Name and Password are correct for my gmail account, Use SSL is checked - basically everything is default for when I chose to add a gmail account and I'm positive my user name and password are entered correctly). I do not have 2-step verification enable for my gmail account (I've been searching for a solution online and noticed others mentioned this - this does not apply to my situation).

I have tried to share photos with email using my Yahoo account. I receive the following message whenever I attempt to send a photo "username/password not recognized by email server."
I have gone into my accounts numerous times in System preferences. My username/password combo is recognized there. I have also changed my password on Yahoo and in my accounts. But I still receive the above message.
When ever I try to download new updates for my applications such as iTunes 9.0.2, it says, "Type an administrator's name and password to allow Software Update to make changes" as usual. When I type the name and password in it says, Sorry, you entered an invalid username or password. I am 100% sure that I typed in the correct username and password. I recently updated my mac to version 10.5.8.. I noticed ever since I updated my mac that it has been doing this. Also, I do not have the software disc to reboot my computer and reset the password, or however that works. Please help me out this is getting real frustrating especially since I just bought FCP, knowing that it will ask for the password to install.
When trying to send an email on my mother's .mac account the following error appears. (Her account is firstname.lastname@example.org). - The message can't be sent because the server doesn't recognize "'email@example.com"-. I'm wondering if this is because there is an apostrophe after the first quotation mark. If so, how did it get there and how could it be removed?
trying to download a .epub book. The .epub goes to my Download file and when I click it Application Loader pops up asking for my Apple ID and password. It says it cannot find a registered user with my user name. I don't know why it even pops up. It says its purpose is to help me prepare my apps for sale on the App Store. I just want to open the .epub.

Whenever I leave my Mac for a few minutes I go back and find the screen saver running. I move the mouse the login window pops up and asks me a username and a password. How can I get rid of it! Its annoying me!
Factory refurb came with Leopard already installed, didn't include disks, and never prompted me to create admin info. Really just want to install Flash... Everytime I try to install it asks me for my admin username and password. Username is always filled in as "user", but password is blank.
I canceled by mobile.me account and now I am getting this message when I open my mail. Enter password for account "smtp.me.com:xxx". SMTP server "smtp.me.com" rejected the password for user "xxx". I try to put my mobile.me password, but that does not seem to work. I am fairly new to Mac OS and cant seem to figure out what is going on.
It all started off when I installed windows 7 on my mac via bootcamp. It worked, but somehow Leopard didn't recognize the windows partition, and that all ended up in even more trouble, so I ended up reinstalling Leopard, thereby erasing everything on my hard drive.I have now reinstalled leopard, but somehow, Disk Utility can not start, everytime I open it, it says it had stopped working and that I can send an error report. Damn! I just need Disk Utility to recover my drive, so that bootcamp can make the partition, but it doesn't work!
Three weeks ago I have bought and installed the new Lion Server (10.7.3) (previously Lion) on my Mac Air (via App Store), but returned it the day after through the Contact Portal of App Store. Since then my Admin Username and Password are not working anymore and the Lion Server is still existent in the system.
When trying to install ANY kind of software or make a change that prompts username/ password, the box shows up grayed out and will not allow me to enter any text. Can anyone give insight into what is causing this and how to fix it?
I have installed an IP-printer on my Mac. To print something from this printer, I have to use an username and password. I wrote in what I thought was my username and password, and selected that my Mac should remember this.
Unfortunately I wrote the wrong username, and now, even though I've deleted the printer several times and added it again, I still can't print anything. The box that I wrote my username and password do not pop up.
So how do I delete the printer and make it forget my username and password?

when surfing to websites where a username and password is required, the first time you fill in these data keychain access will ask to remember the password.
If U click 'never for this website' keychain access won't ask this again.How can I change this setting? I'm trying to autolog into facebook but it won't work.I keychain access I added it manually but it still doesn't work.
I've recently purchased a 2nd hand Apple Powerbook G4 A1104 and the previous user details and password are still on the system and to reset it has asked to install the Mac OS disc.The powerbook suffered minor damage to the aluminium casing causing it non-economic to repair, therefore i had successfully tendered for the item.
I don't have the disc - is there any way that the username and password be re-set without this disc?
I'm trying to connect to a remote Linux machine, which is running a VNC Server, from my Mac running Lion. I know there are third-party VNC clients but I'd like to use the built-in VNC client that is used for screen sharing. When I do a Finder Go to vnc:\<ip address>:5901, I get a screen sharing login prompt and it's asking me for both a username and a password. Normal VNC clients only ask for a password. I can't seem to connect even if I clear the username part and enter the just the password. I've confirmed that I can connect to the VNC server from a Windows box running TightVNC. When I run TightVNC on the Windows box, I'm only prompted for the VNC server password and it works fine. So what am I missing when using the built-in VNC client? Why is it asking me for a username? Is there a hidden VNC username on the server that I could supply that would get me past this?
Is there any way to make Safari only remember the username and not the password of a website when using Autofill? I've noticed that Firefox does this and Facebook does this in Safari when disabling "keep me logged in" (maybe a cookie feature?), and this is the exact behaviour I want.
I use 1Password and thats great, but I'd love to just type my password and automatically have the username show, and not keep having to type in my 1Password keychain's password.
