Server V10.6 Snow Leopard :: The Server At Mac OS X Server Web Services Requires A Username And Password?
I am running SL Server 10.6.2, wiki works but when a person clicks an attached file in a wiki and then selects "open" they get a login popup with the notification The server at Mac OS X Server Web Services requires a username and password. It doesn't matter what they put into the login/pass it comes back. If they hit cancel then the document opens. If they click save then it saves with no issue. I can type in the admin login/pass of the server and it works. Does this mean the security settings to the location of the files is wrong? ation:

Software :: Software Update Not Recognize Entered Username / Password
When ever I try to download new updates for my applications such as iTunes 9.0.2, it says, "Type an administrator's name and password to allow Software Update to make changes" as usual. When I type the name and password in it says, Sorry, you entered an invalid username or password. I am 100% sure that I typed in the correct username and password. I recently updated my mac to version 10.5.8.. I noticed ever since I updated my mac that it has been doing this. Also, I do not have the software disc to reboot my computer and reset the password, or however that works. Please help me out this is getting real frustrating especially since I just bought FCP, knowing that it will ask for the password to install.

OS X :: Mac Via Bootcamp - Leopard Didn't Recognize The Windows Partitioning?
It all started off when I installed windows 7 on my mac via bootcamp. It worked, but somehow Leopard didn't recognize the windows partition, and that all ended up in even more trouble, so I ended up reinstalling Leopard, thereby erasing everything on my hard drive.I have now reinstalled leopard, but somehow, Disk Utility can not start, everytime I open it, it says it had stopped working and that I can send an error report. Damn! I just need Disk Utility to recover my drive, so that bootcamp can make the partition, but it doesn't work!

MacBook Pro :: It Doesn't Recognize Password
my GF and a glass of Wine. Cat hits wine and wine hits MBP. The Mac shut off instantly, we acted pretty quick and mopped up and turned upside down. I then took back off and over the course of the next 5 days I have stripped it down completely including the Key board and cleaned as best as I could. I've put it all back together and it starts up, a reassuring tone rings out, then apple sign appears with a loading bar beneath, this takes a while then it reaches the Lion log in page.It still recognizes me, or rather my name as the user but refuses my password which I know is correct. The keyboard isn't backlit but keys are typing something (can't see characters, just dots). Screen brightness works. No back light on keys although this may be normal at this point, not sure.

Laptops :: MacBook Pro Default Username And Password?
I just purchased my first ever Mac yesterday. I've wanted one for years.

I'm trying to install some programs and when I attempt to, Installer prompts me for a Username and Password.

I was never asked while setting up my computer whether or not I wanted to assign my computer with a Username or password.

The Username field is already filled in with "Apple Owner" and the Password field is blank.

Does anyone know if there is a default Username and Password and if so, what it is?

OS X Leopard :: Admin Account Is Now Standard - Change Password From Disk It Didn't Work?
I'm at a loss now. We are running 10.5.8 on an imac. The only user/administrators account is now a "standard" account so we can't do anything.I read the article about starting from the install disk and changing the password. Here is the problem:1. I assume I use the install disc 1 and not 2...don't know what 2 is for.2. the install disk I have is for 10.4.7- I hope that is OK.3. When I start from disc, I go to utilities---> reset password----> but then the only drive available to choose is the install disk, not the hard drive. So, when I choose the "root/administrator" from the menu and try to change the password it tells me I can't do that- that I don't have permission- well, duh- it's trying to change the password for the disk, not the harddrive.

In order to have public access to web pages, the www user (which is supposed to be created by default) must be assigned rights to the site pages. I can't find www - either user or group in Workgroup I tried to add them, but errored out as existing already. If they are hidden, how can they be seen, so rights can be assigned? Is there a way to search for them?

MacBook Pro :: First USB Port Won't Recognize IPhone 3GS But Does Recognize Other IPods?
I have an iPhone 3GS running the latest 4.0 beta OS.

I also have the latest 17" MacBook Pro which I use to administer my iPhone.

The problem I am having is iTunes does not recognize my iPhone when it is plugged into the first USB port (next to the mic input). The System Profiler however DOES list the iPhone under the USB section.

If I plug the iPhone into the other two USB ports it is recognized just fine in iTunes.

All of my other iPod devices work just fine with all USB ports.

Sometimes when I plug my iPhone into the first USB port iTunes thinks for about 30 seconds then says something like...

"An iPhone has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPhone then try again"

OS X Leopard :: Sending Email - Says Server Needs To Enter The Password
We have 2 MacBooks. We have separate email accounts (several each). We both frequently get problems SENDING email. The account can vary.

The problem is that it says the server needs us to enter the password. This seems to be a bug, we've learned. If we hit "cancel" and go in the outbox, and open the email, and send it again, it always goes through immediately.

How can we stop from having to take all these additional steps to send email?
