ICloud :: Mail App: Email Address Keep Asking For Password?
Apr 18, 2012
My iCloud email works without any problems usually. But I keep getting this message at random times — usually after I quit mail, or my computer goes to sleep:What do I do? Is there a correct way to set up iCloud on my Mac's mail in order to avoid this? I'm running the latest Lion Mail on the latest MacBook Pro.
"Enter Password for Account "iCloud" — The iCloud IMAP server "p01-imap.mail.me.com" rejected the password for user "example" — Enter your password again or cancel. — Remember this password in my keychain"

I have changed my apple ID username/email address online, and now all of my devices are asking for the password to my old account. I can't find the way to log in with my new username. Is there a way i can update my apple id on all of my different devices?
Will I still be able to use the Mail program w/my .mac email address after moving to iCloud? Will it still reflect the same moves btwn my iPhone and mail program after moving all this BS to iCloud?
When I switch to icloud will my email address still be @mac.com or will it change to [URL] And does this mean that I need to give everyone my NEW email address?
I was sent this MSG your email is still coming through malformed, with no email address in the From: There is no reply address appearing in mail I send.
Upon the strong suggestion by the Apple website that I change my primary e-mail address to match my AppleID, I did. I actually have two Apple IDs. The first one never had an e-mail associated with it that I know of, the second one was my MobleMe email (i.e., the second AppleID matched the primary email address for that account). I should also add that my iTunes account, plus all purchases are with the first AppleID.
Now, to my horror, I discover that there are no options to configure this e-mail account, The first AppleID was a @mac.com account, and that e-mail address does not work. I can't get it to work either. Everything I send to it bounces back, which now means that all my iTunes purchase receipts, etc., will be sent to a non-existent address that I can configure or create.

I have a @me.com e-mail and when I got my mAC, a friend helped set up 3 others. When I send an e-mail, I use the drop down menu to select which e-mail to have it come from. I do not recall how he set it up. I need to create another one. and I am at a loss.
I'm getting up there in age, lol, and I'd like to change my e-mail address (that I made when I was 15) to something more professional. I've been up and down through mac.com and other blog websites, and I can't find anything on the subject of either opening a new account and closing my current one, or just simply changing my current one.

I have changed my email address and iCloud keeps asking for the password for my old email address. How do I change my email address for my iCloud acct?
Why do I have to upgrade to OS10.7 if I have no need to access my files from across the world, can back up by wire to my iMac and would lose all my usable PowerPC applications if I upgrade to Intel-only ones? MobileMe was a pain for me, with re-duplication of Contacts, so I discontinued using it. So I am not happy to trust iCloud!
Am trying to get my MacBook on iCloud. I use a .mac account and the instructions say to do something from the " home screen "... Which is here? How do I find it?
I have a box that pops up on my desktop that states: My MAC can't connect to iCloud because off a problem with my email address. I do not use iCloud and do not want to at this time. Is this an issue that i have to deal with until i sign up with I cloud or is this removable until I want I cloud?
How do you address an email to a group with iCloud? I used to just type in the name of the group and all the addresses filled in. Since I've switched to iCloud it doesn't recognize the group name. If I select +, then the the group name I'm still asked to select individual recipients.
I have provided a wrong email address in setting up my iCloud account. Hence, I have not been able to verify my account and use iCloud. What should I do next ?
How do you change the email address your icloud account is registered with? I use my old mac.com address but icloud registered me with me.com which I never use.
I want to change my primary e-mail address that I use with Apple ID - says Select Edit next to “Apple ID and Primary Email Address.” But there is no 'edit' on that section there is on every other but not that one.
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5), I'm a beginner!
When I originally set up iCloud, I was using Google mail. I have now migrated my calendar and email to iCloud and have migrated all third party accounts to use my icloud email address for mailshots, notifications etc. All that seems to be remaining is Apple's own discussion pages. It seems I cannot get notifications sent to anything other than my original gmail account, is there any way to change that? I have a forward on gmail so it's not a massive problem, but I would prefer to take gmail out of the equation completely now.
It still seems very strange to me that an Apple user's primary email address cannot be an Apple owned domain (as per their list of rules in the AppleID section). I have my icloud address as an alternate email address so at least it does allow me to log in to icloud.com etc., using that icloud address.
I want to send a email to a group-list (in my adressbook). I didn't found any possibility. I must use Icloud email because i have an old G5, which is not supported on my OS.
Given that when setting up the iCloud account on Mail no password, as far as I remember, the procedure does not ask for a password (that infact is inexistent), I wonder why sometimes a dialog box like this one appears. It'a little bit bothering, as I have to press the "Cancel" button to dismiss it: the account works fine, though, and it couldn't be different, as I have no idea of what to write in that dialog box.
