View 1 RepliesI'm not clear how do you save a keynote presentation made on MAC to icloud? When it was mobile me, you could drag it to a folder or SYNC from one fo the folders where you stored it.

Prior to migrating to iCloud I enjoyed the use of iDisk that allowed me to perform the file share service with ease. I cannot find my way to doing the same with iCloud?

I have waited as long as possible to upgrade to Lion because SL works fine for me.But iDisks days are numbered and I have no choice but to upgrade.I have a lot of work files in iDisk. Now I need to get them to iCloud, but I am not sure how to do so or even if I can do so.As a precaution, I've put them (or most of them until I ran out of free space) into Dropbox. Now Dropbox wants me to pay $99/year for more space.I paid that for mobileme and was okay with it, but now it gripes me that I have to pay for something non-Apple (that was the whole reason I left the pc world) because what Apple now has (iCloud) won't do what I need it to do.

I recently purchased a MacBook Air to use as a travel computer and wanted to share a few things between my desktop and the new Air. I had considered using DropBox, but figured I'd spring for iCloud Drive instead since it's part of the "eco-system"...
Trouble is, the files I want to upload to iCloud Drive don't seem to be uploading. Maybe I don't understand how iCloud Drive works, but I was under the impression that it was similar to DropBox and that I could upload any type of file. I have two encrypted disk images that contain all of my PDF receipts, tax info, etc. I want to store both of these on iCloud Drive. I also use MacGPS Pro for mapping and wanted to store the two map folders. The map files are all .PICT and there's another folder containing .IEM files (whatever those are). Neither the disk images, nor these two map folders, seem to be uploading. A few of the PICT files uploaded, then it just stopped and hasn't worked since.
Also, I can't find any way to see whether a file has been uploaded, is waiting to upload, etc. DropBox is far more intuitive in that respect. Is this information hidden somewhere for iCloud Drive? Or does Apple just think we don't need to know it? I look at iCloud Drive on my desktop Mac and I see all of the files I expect to be there. But then I look online or on the Air and realize that virtually none of them exist in the cloud. Very counter-intutive.
Does iCloud Drive not work the way I think it does? Or is iCloud Drive another half-baked cloud storage solution like iDisk that I should drop for DropBox, which I know works?
Using my iMac and Numbers, I have saved files on iCloud and today I can't even find iCloud to load my files. Has something changed in iCloud usage?

I am up and running with iCloud, but for right now, all I sync are my contacts and calendar. I know you have the option to choose what you want to sync, but let's say that I only want to sync some document files with iCloud, can I do that? Or Do I have to sync all documents if that is the option I choose?

I think I must be missing a trick here, but how can I update my files to icloud without having to manually find the file and upload after any changes I have made on my Mac.I see drop box does this and indeed will allow many more file formats to be used, one of which is the universally useful .pdf format. My Iphone will update the changes automatically, I can't believe that the iCloud system won't let my Mac do the same.
